Hunter
The scenario we most commonly use Hunter for is to quickly find and retrieve contact email information. Phone numbers are an added bonus, but they tend to only be available for contacts in the US. SDRs have the extension in order to confirm or to help them "guess" as to what a contact's email address might be. This speeds up our prospecting time considerably. Where Hunter falls short is not being flexible where companies have more than one email format.

ZeroBounce
ZeroBounce is well suited for any project that requires list hygiene. If you're not actively emailing people and checking the response, it can be hard to know where or not their email address is still active or not. ZeroBounce provides a quick and easy way to check those emails for you without actually sending them an email. If there's a current customer list that you want to clean up, you can run it through ZeroBounce and remove anyone that is determined invalid for a better delivery rate.

Cons
Hunter
  • Hunter is only as valuable as the information it is able to scrape from the internet. If a company has not listed any email addresses online, then Hunter is not going to be able to find it.
  • Sometimes Hunter is only able to identify non-personal-specific email addresses (ex: info @, support@, etc.). This makes it difficult to identify personnel emails
  • Sometimes companies will have different email domains that Hunter is not able to correlate. For example, when searching for an email address at Lead.com, Hunter is not able to point to ParentCompany.com email addresses that would be more useful.

ZeroBounce
I gave it this rating because I think that there's always room for improvement all the time But I think overall ZeroBounce is amazing. So I give it a 9 out of 10 I think I think that would make it a 10 out of 10 Is maybe if the cost is a little bit better or maybe if I understood a little bit more of the value But I think other than that I think it's good. Yeah happy.

ZeroBounce
We have used ZeroBounce for about 18 months and it works flawlessly. We are able to get all of our questions/issues answered immediately. Felt very comfortable with the product immediately - used their web site which walked us through it and were able to get up and running within minutes. I really haven't had any issues that required support.

Alternatives Considered
Hunter
We have been trying to get lead information on SalesTools and PLENTY, however, these two tools are mostly oriented to create follow-up campaigns and the setup is pretty complicated. If you are looking to create just a list of semi-qualified leads, you may try Hunter, but SalesTools has already an inner feature to build prospects in a better way.

ZeroBounce
ZeroBounce has better brand value and brand recognition compared to competitors in market. NeverBounce may still do a little better compared to ZeroBounce just because its a ZoomInfo company and has ZoomInfo data to back it up. Pricing need to be improved. Still we chose ZerBounce because it was best in business for email validation.

Return on Investment
Hunter
  • Positive to be sure. I don't always get the results I want, but I use the free version and I'm satisfied to go there first when I need an email
  • It's a fast quality product. It was better before when it resided on my LinkedIn account, but that's another matter...

ZeroBounce
  • Not connected to any other email tool which makes you have to buy another tool.
  • You can send duplicates through which is not effective.
  • Also saves a bunch for cleaning databases for bad emails.
