Considered Both Products
Infinite Campus
Chose Infinite Campus
I find these other products to be much more simplified in their set up and user friendly where with Infinite Campus, it requires a good amount of time and patience to acclimate to the set up and arrangement of content. Also, the other products I have reviewed are more appealing …
Chose Infinite Campus
I think we should see these platforms as a tool that can be mixed and combined for getting better results.
Chose Infinite Campus
When I used SAMs in the past, there were several times that my data was "lost." Reports weren't as user-friendly as the reports on Infinite Campus. Navigation through the different functions is much easier on Infinite Campus.
Chose Infinite Campus
Infinite Campus has performed [comparably] because it can house many different data collections all in one place. It is easy to look up students and can help staff in different [capacities] with reporting, uploading data for student profiles, and [sharing] with others in our …
Chose Infinite Campus
Tyler is a very versatile program. However, it is extremely cluttered, and many parents are overwhelmed by trying to navigate it to the point where they will not even use it. Tyler SIS allows parents to see similar information in addition to their child's grades, but the volume …
Chose Infinite Campus
Synergy, PowerSchool. Infinite Campus was definitely the "Cadillac" when looking at other systems. Other systems look and felt clunky when stacked against Infinite Campus. Although the company is not local, they FEEL and ACT as though they are right next door.
Chose Infinite Campus
Infinite Campus is a little more difficult to learn to use than eSchool was. However once you're used to it does have some features that eSchool did not such as the homepage. From the homepage I can take attendance and enter grades. It allows you to sort by graded, ungraded and …
Chose Infinite Campus
Infinite Campus and Google Classroom serve different purposes for my job, so they really aren’t comparable.
Chose Infinite Campus
Infinite Campus was easier for us to see the benefit of when making a purchasing decision. The competitors we were considering came as components of larger models and it became confusing to us which benefits of the products would be available to us only purchasing their student …
Chose Infinite Campus
Our district has not evaluated other products--we have been on Infinite Campus since its inception.
Chose Infinite Campus
Infinite Campus has more features that were needed for our district, like the ability to use a standards-based grading system, and attach students' IEPs directly to their profile. They grading system would have been hard to write on Skyward because they don't have the …
Chose Infinite Campus
This system is more fluid, and more reliable. I did not select IC but it is a good product and I am pleased our district uses it.
Chose Infinite Campus
While PowerSchool has a rich feature set, we found the cobbled-together nature of the tool can make support problematic. The Infinite Campus toolset is much more internally tightly integrated -- many fewer user touches than PowerSchool.
Chose Infinite Campus
I much prefer Infinite Campus to Google Classroom. For all of the reasons that I have previously explained, I much prefer Infinite Campus to Google Classroom. I still, however, utilize Google Docs and things of that nature but as far as a grade book type of program or software, …
Chose Infinite Campus
I heard about Gradelink from my Site Director and our HQ team, but I have never used Gradelink. I was told we use Infinite Campus because it has more of the tools our program needed for our various sites and varied student population across the state. Our three YCA sites are …
Chose Infinite Campus
Infinite campus has many more features than any attendance program I have used.
Veracross
Chose Veracross
Veracross had so many unique features that stood against other similar software and learning management systems which compelled us to buy it over the rest. Features like the ability to create our own customized reports according to tutor/parent specifications help us to offer …
Chose Veracross
Veracross has better built-in integrations with other platforms/systems. IT is much simpler and easy to use. It keeps records in a much simpler way and can be accessed through different modes of reporting. It is very easy to keep track of the progress in any training, project, …
Chose Veracross
Veracross had superior support, training, and integration with other systems.
Chose Veracross
I actually prefer NXT, but Veracross is much better in student data and records that I have kept it so we are all using one system.
Chose Veracross
We have been with Veracross now for 10 or 11 years. Our previous student management system was Education Edge, Financial Edge, and Raiser's Edge by Blackbaud. The support at Blackbaud was probably what drove us away, as well as the fact that we had three different databases to …
Chose Veracross
As a parent I remember when this was RenWeb. The school used it for communication. Veracross can do the communication things that RenWeb did. I am more familiar now with Veracross.
Chose Veracross
I haven't used something this powerful before and once you understand what it can do, it's pretty neat.
Chose Veracross
We use Veracross for many things within our learning management system, specifically for calculating budget spending. We were able to put together class schedules, directories, budget management, comportment forms, attendance and mass communication abilities. We still need to …

As a classroom teacher, I love not having to rely on just a handwritten grade book anymore. When I input grades, I can print the updated grade book whenever I choose. This keeps my workload down since I don't have to write it in the grade book and then put it on the computer.

Veracross is good for classroom training sessions management and conducting seminars. It keeps the record of trainers, trainees, sessions of training, etc, and helps organize trainings in a systematic manner. It helps improve the operational efficiency of the overall training and learnings of the new colleagues where they can be assigned projects/assignments and keep a track of the same.

Pros
  • It is very clean (not cluttered with information and buttons)
  • It keeps all personal information in one spot
  • The message center is helpful, and it is easy to see when there is a new message
  • The breakdown of attendance is done very well

  • Student and family data is easy to keep up to date. And there is so much data that you can keep track of. It is so helpful to have all data in one place so we don’t have a human error in transfers g to another system.
  • Recording donations is very easy and you can attach backup documents very easy which is great during our yearly audit. All records are in the system and can be pulled at anytime.
  • Easy for parents to sign in to view and edit their own information as well as view student reports.

Cons
  • Infinite Campus does not integrate seamlessly with our learning management system. This is a big deal in that using Infinite Campus means our faculty and staff are asked to do more (fatigue) and there is more room for error to occur.
  • Infinite Campus' platform is not visually appealing nor does the site design use enough colors and distinction to clearly convey progress to a user.

  • Normally it has everything I need for my work, today I was able to make a video call and chat from my cell phone and this adds more positive points to Veracross.

We will continue to use Veracross for the simple fact that we have one database across all of the departments in our school. Veracross continues to listen to customer feedback and improve and enhance the system.

Support Rating
I haven't reached out to Infinite Campus for technical support. We have in-school people who are trained to help us out in the event of a problem. We have had a couple of times where the system has gone down unexpectedly, but our school IT professionals were able to sort it out.

LOVE the Technical Response Team - the first line of help at Veracross. I can quickly submit a ticket and receive a response knowing that they have looked in our system and know what we are trying to do! Our account manager is also amazing! So nice to have a person within the company who knows our school and our needs!

I find these other products to be much more simplified in their set up and user friendly where with Infinite Campus, it requires a good amount of time and patience to acclimate to the set up and arrangement of content. Also, the other products I have reviewed are more appealing to the eye with their color content/contrast, background themes/colors and engaging colors which make the experience enjoyable and calming.

Veracross had so many unique features that stood against other similar software and learning management systems which compelled us to buy it over the rest. Features like the ability to create our own customized reports according to tutor/parent specifications help us to offer exactly what is needed while constant Email reminders make sure that we never miss a single email. Also, the ability to take attendance from any device makes everyone's schedules more flexible. Considering all these features it was our aim to buy this software and test it out for our company.

Return on Investment
  • Positive impact: Allows us to keep our pacing guides up to date for weekly meetings and information dissemination.
  • Positive impact: Allows us to provide our counselors, students, and parents with informative progress reports in a timely manner.
  • Negative impact: Takes more time away from our other duties when it takes so long to find the data/information I'm looking for amongst all the classes I need to go through just to get to the one I need. They really should look at a better way to arrange/group the drop down menu for the classes.

  • tasks that used to take 30 minutes can take as little as 30 seconds (I'm not exaggerating)
  • it's a complex platform so there is signficant investment in both training and data preparation (for conversion)
  • it's really expensive (but over time will pay for itself with systems we can sunset and attrition that we don't need to replace)
