A software packed full of all your needs but be ready to adjust and take some time to acclimate

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I use Infinite Campus to input grades, daily attendance of students, contact logs, and to print report cards. I also use this software to access parent contact information as well as other important information about individual student behavior, custody arrangements, medical information that is necessary for me to know, etc..Infinite Campus is a hub that allows the business I work for to have all student data, both academic as well as personal, in one specific location.

Pros

  • Has all components necessary when addressing the particular areas of content needed for school staff.
  • Has a basic structure to it where it is somewhat easy to use and operate within.
  • Infinite Campus has a wide range of possible places to locate student and data information, allowing it to be the main source of use for a teacher like myself.

Cons

  • Infinite Campus has a non-intuitive software, which could be more simplistic and user friendly.
  • Infinite Campus has a non-inviting/an unwarm color scheme/font display/theme/background
  • This software could make it more easy to identify the categories in which specific webpages are available.

Most Important Features

  • Attendance
  • Roster
  • Grades

Return on Investment

  • Infinite Campus has allowed me to easily take attendance no matter which device I am using.
  • This software has been very tedious to navigate when looking for infrequent data that is not necessarily needed very often such as ELD levels and how to find the progress report option.
  • Infinite Campus has demonstrated an inability to perform easily on all devices when going from one student's personal roster information to the next.
  • This software has enabled me to easily set up grades for each specific content standard/skill when assigning one specific grade to the entire class, because it is the average grade, and then allowing me to specifically go in and change the outliers on these grades.

Help to manage and track students

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I have been using this tool for about 14 months only but I can say that I'm pretty satisfied with the results. I can say that I would recommend this product to schools and other educational institutions that need some kind of management system for their student information or data.

Pros

  • It provides all tracking.
  • All information is at one place.

Cons

  • Login difficult.
  • Allow bulk assignment.
  • Sometimes, a feature will be available for free and then later free removed and charged as an add-on.

Most Important Features

  • Help to manage information of students
  • Students data tracking

Return on Investment

  • Class management
  • Increase efficiency
  • Help to manage and track students

Infinite Campus offers infinite possibilities for use

Pros

  • It provides all your tracking/progress date in one place. Very comprehensive.
  • Ability to generate complete and detailed progress reports for each of our students.
  • Allows our team to utilize the data and transfer it to our own pacing spreadsheets for each group of students we are tracking.
  • And as a special education teacher, I use it as a portal to my GO-IEP program, which is invaluable.

Cons

  • The Gradebook is just so busy, even though it does contain all the grades/information you need, I find it very hard to find data/information just because of the sheer numbers and drop downs that I have to go through to get to what I want.
  • Not very user-friendly for first time users - takes many tries and searching around to get to where you want. Gets easier as you use it, but they could attempt to make it more user-friendly for the novice/first time users.
  • I'd like to see the drop-down menu for the classes broken up into separate folders/files for each group (ie. ELA, Social Studies, Science, Math). Then it wouldn't be just rows and rows of classes that make my eyes run them all together and hard to find the ONE I am looking for.

Return on Investment

  • Positive impact: Allows us to keep our pacing guides up to date for weekly meetings and information dissemination.
  • Positive impact: Allows us to provide our counselors, students, and parents with informative progress reports in a timely manner.
  • Negative impact: Takes more time away from our other duties when it takes so long to find the data/information I'm looking for amongst all the classes I need to go through just to get to the one I need. They really should look at a better way to arrange/group the drop down menu for the classes.
