Chose IT Glue
IT Glue is better than any Wiki site we have used. Integrating the Wiki sites with our IT information is too difficult, and they will not easily show statistics from the servers we service. IT Glue will integrate easily with things like Auvik and Lion Guar,d which is why we …
Chose IT Glue
Confluence was really cool but would require a lot of work to reach the same feature-set IT Glue provides off the shelf.
Chose IT Glue
We used simply OneNote before IT Glue and still keep basic info in there. [I believe] it was not great for sharing outside the company but worked very well to share securely with staff. RoboForm can be used to share info to your clients, such as passwords and configuration …
Chose IT Glue
Currently, we are evaluating using Sharepoint instead of IT Glue as documents and items are searchable within the document instead of by title. We feel that by only searching by title and the type it hinders the speed at which information can be found easily.
Chose IT Glue
The documentation is much better than Passportal but the password management does not work quite as well. Overall, it's the clear leader currently.
Chose IT Glue
Although it doesn't show up in the search bar here, we've also used BizDox.

While all these provide many of the same services, for us, IT Glue just works much better. We can get to the information we need from anywhere, it's well organized, and we get it quickly. But above all …
Chose IT Glue
Before IT Glue, we were using office Word documents, spreadsheets, and OneNote for storing client documentation - it was a mess. Since moving to IT Glue all of our documentation is in one place, more organized and easily accessible. The initial input of information was long and …
Chose IT Glue
This seemed like a cool product. You run these PowerShell scripts that you run on the client computer that updated in IT portal. It worked good at first but then it would mysteriously double the computer in IT Portal. If I don't catch it, it will triple and grow and grow. Later …
Chose IT Glue
We tried Confluence but it had such a steep learning curve not only for the installer but for everyone involved. It didn't go very far and everyone got fed up with it quickly. I know confluence can do a ton of things but when you don't have dedicated people to implement you …
Chose IT Glue
IT Glue is much easier and cleaner to use than Confluence. It has a lot more functionality being able to sync across other pieces of software we use, such as ConnectWise Manage and ConnectWise Automate. Alerting to our Slack channel helps in some situations as well. A lot more …
Chose IT Glue
This is no joke, when demoed IT Glue at a convention, and then set a call for the rest of the team to look at it, and it was so intuitive and easy to access data, that we signed, without looking at other software.. Prior to ITGlue all data was in our RMM software.
Chose IT Glue
Spiceworks is a free tool to use if you're in MSP. The community is fantastic, but it lacked in certain features. The amount of information I can put into IT Glue is leagues ahead of Spiceworks. You also have to have supplementary software to reach the wealth of information …
Chose IT Glue
We used SharePoint for quite a while and then moved to IT Glue. Then IT Boost came out, and I wanted to like it but it was super flakey and had some security issues. Overall IT Glue has kind of a sucky sales department, but otherwise, it's a solid product that I would recommend …
Chose IT Glue
We used Bright Gauge a long time ago. At the time, we didn't have enough process and procedure in place to truly evaluate it, so we're currently going through an evaluation of Bright Gauge again now and we'll decide what works better. I don't think we're losing IT Glue …
Chose IT Glue
Couldn't choose Wikipedia but IT Glue definitely has more options for saving content. It's user friendly and is straightforward. There are several editing tools that come in handy when writing up procedural documentation and I found Wiki to be more difficult to use. You'd have …
Chose IT Glue
SharePoint requires specialized training, Confluence isn't MSP-specific, and ITBoost is new and not yet proven. IT Glue's integration with the rest of our toolset was what sold it for us.
Chose IT Glue
ITG was created specifically for IT providers and had the integrations that we need for our PSA tool.
Confluence is an amazing platform and may end up being our next move.
Chose IT Glue
We chose IT Glue particularly because it's tailored to IT documentation. As a managed IT service provider, it's perfectly in line with what we were looking for. The flexibility and tagging in particular were the kind of features we were looking for. Confluence is very good, …

Microsoft SharePoint is more feature rich but that also comes with the cost of complexity. Needing to learn how to set up folders, documents, etc, with the right permissions isn't difficult, but to make sure it is done correctly does take some time to understand where to do …
Chose SharePoint
Microsoft SharePoint shares many of the same pros and cons as HCL Notes. It does a lot. Maybe too much to understand.
Chose SharePoint
Egnyte is the superior solution due to the way it segments data and provides a holistic approach to sharing and access. Microsoft SharePoint provides this a bit but could improve but the value of Microsoft SharePoint is greater given it is included in our subscription.
Chose SharePoint
I like Microsoft SharePoint over Google Drive for its organization. I believe that Microsoft SharePoint keeps things much more organized than Google Drive. Also, typically when you purchase Microsoft SharePoint, you get the rest of the Microsoft Suite. However, Google Drive has …
Chose SharePoint
One drive I think is more for personal use as a cloud storage. SharePoint can be more of use in businesses where teams can easily collaborate in various documents and files. This can also automate other processes to make it easier for the business in their day to day work tasks.
Chose SharePoint
From what I have seen, Google Workspace seems to get the balance better. I think both tech giants are in a position to be indifferent to end user experience.
Chose SharePoint
The reasons for selecting MS SharePoint are: SharePoint provides ease of use and web design assistance and support SharePoint helps you schedule your content for publishing. enables users to share documents with external parties and offers a better internal structure of the …

Since Microsoft SharePoint comes with the MS business office package, it is fully integrated with other office products and really works together with other MS Office products like Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, Publisher, etc.. in real-time, so it's really easy to maintain …
Chose SharePoint
Microsoft SharePoint and Glasscubes are very similar products. I selected Microsoft SharePoint simply because I am more familiar with the product.
Chose SharePoint
Microsoft SharePoint definitely has the highest ranking for use with MS Office packages and integration into Windows devices--mobile or normal desktop devices. The cost for Microsoft SharePoint is also competitive in comparison and with local hosting options within APAC regions.
Chose SharePoint
I prefer Atlassian Confluence for file sharing, wiki markups, and as a better tool for engineering documentation. Microsoft SharePoint is the tool that was chosen for my current organization, and I do miss using Confluence. Both tools get the job done and it is largely a …

MS Sharepoint is much more simpler way to use if we compare it with BOX, Box is very slow loading app not that user friendly. Box need really good quality of connectivity. MS Sharepoint provide good after sales support. Query resolution time is really fast in case of MS …
Chose SharePoint
Both Confluence and Sharepoint have similarities, but they also have significant differences. In both cases, people can use the wiki to exchange information with each other. Many platforms, including Mac, are easier to use with Confluence's better user interface. Compared to …

Dropbox UI is very cluttered and not well organized. It doesn't come with an office suite, unlike SharePoint. Inbuilt video player on SharePoint is great and has better playback controls than dropbox video player. Sharepoint is integrated well with other offices 365 apps. …
Chose SharePoint
MS SharePoint lags behind its competitors in most areas. While it does offer more functionality, such as custom sites, MS SharePoint's bogged-down sharing system really hurts it. While sharing documents with coworkers, outside contractors, and guests is hassle-free with Google …
Chose SharePoint
I think that MS SharePoint is a more robust and well integrated tool than other products. Because it lives in the Microsoft universe it likely integrates to the other software products you already have very easily. Most users will not have trouble adopting it as the UI is …
Chose SharePoint
We still have Confluence and Google Drive, but we wanted a product that could provide document security and a single point of access that easily integrated into our active directory. Since we use this for our intranet site, we found the features easier to stand up and the UI …
Chose SharePoint
I have not personally used any direct competitors to SharePoint as a whole. However, I have used Dropbox Business and Google Drive. While these do work well for file collaboration, they do not offer the website structure that SharePoint does. SharePoint also integrates …

Slack is not great for document sharing, but it does integrate with SharePoint and One Drive when we need to post links. Slack is better at the chat function though, which is definitely missed from SharePoint.

IT Glue is well suited to any size managed service provider that requires a secure central knowledge base. IT Glue also integrates well with N-Central to automatically populate the configurations tab with all the relevant Workstation, Printer, and Server information making client on-boarding a breeze.

SharePoint Document Management excels as a central repository for storing, organising, and retrieving documents. It supports version control, metadata tagging, secure access, and integration with tools like Power Automate. At our organisation, it's used for managing contracts, policies, and supplier documents. SharePoint Workflow Automation integrates with Power Automate to streamline approvals, gather feedback, and automate recurring tasks. This reduces reliance on email chains and manual trackers.

Pros
  • Flexible Assets are custom questions or forms that you get to create to keep the kind of documentation that *you* want. Our team has done this, and have developed a comprehensive system in our documentation that is better than anything we've ever had.
  • Tagging. This feature is so helpful when interlinking related items in the documentation system. IT Glue makes it so easy to tag other configurations, including printers, firewalls, phones, etc.
  • Public sharing of knowledge base articles. Often our clients need to know how to do something. We can add pictures, step-by-step walkthroughs that save us and them a ton of time.
  • iFrame embedding. There's some flexibility to the web pages that have been helpful for putting other things, such as Cognito Forms in.

  • Making collaboration easier via a better connection between accounts. You can share anything from a file to events with just a couple of clicks.
  • All services are connected and switching between services is a breeze[.]
  • Solutions to the majority of everyday business problems.

Cons
  • So far we have enjoyed the functionality of ITG with one exception:
  • The search feature is severely lacking. We have thousands of articles in this knowledge base but the search window is about 1" wide and only shows the first few words of each article. Within our system, those first few words are often the same "SYSTEMS: How-To...". If we are searching for a system, we will have no alternative but to manually try to find this document by browsing through folders within ITG.
  • Unfortunately ITG has not responded to a flurry of enhancement requests around this feature, that go back quite a while.
  • The functionality that would make this a killer app for us would be a dedicated search page that displayed results like a Google search page.
  • Ability to export all client documentation if the client moves to another provider.

  • There are far too many good features to choose from, and advanced features are noticeably absent.
  • There is room for improvement in terms of integration with non-Microsoft products, as well as developer Story.
  • It is challenging to provide easier access via file explorer while also granting outside users and guests access.

Overall IT Glue meets every need that we need it to. IT is easy to use and convenient and we have not had very many issues with it since the inception. I would easily recommend it to anyone who needs this software.

We have too much invested at this point to do anything different and there are too many reasons as a company our size to keep it. We are heavily licensed out for Microsoft and have 12 years of SharePoint development baked into who we are. Extracting that as a tool at this point would be dumb and devastating. There are no like-kind competitors to it at an enterprise level that scale and integrate as well.

Usability
The interface is excellent and very easy to use. As long as the text you input into the system can be easily read, you will have no problem finding it with all the different categories offered. Sometimes, the slider on the right can blend in with dark backgrounds, making it hard to see.

No usability issues reported. Individual teams also have allocated areas which replace legacy shared drives on local LANs. Access to Sharepoint resources is fully integrated with corporate Active Directory with additional two-factor authentication required for administrative users. Users have access to Microsoft Services Hub which allows you to create, manage, and track support requests while staying current on Microsoft technologies with access to select self-paced learning paths

Other than a few access outages, ITGlue is always up and available to us. Their ability to export Playbook, that contain our customers data, and securely send those over to them is amazing and are produced pretty fast. We have IT Glue linked with several other services and software and we have not found that it slows anything down.

Support Rating
No problems with support when needed it. Their answers on how to handle DR/BC situations when ITG is down are not stellar. They don't seem to get the business risks of their suggestions to just give the xls backup to engineers (aka give all passwords of ALL clients to engineers in an unencrypted flat-file where it is easy to copy, print, etc.)

Support for SharePoint is quite good. Microsoft provides good support. Microsoft offers
  • Quick turnaround time for issues
  • A range of support services
  • Access to a network of resources
  • Escalation of issues
  • Ongoing development and commitment to produce enhancement
The majority of support is required for initial installation. Once complete and the system is operating we have had very few support issues.

The face to face training I received was on SharePoint Administration. It was rushed as there was a lot of information to cover and the application of the labs weren't that great either. I like to be able to relate what I am learning to what I am currently doing.

I like to learn at my own pace and online training allows for that. Additionally, you can skip through pieces of content that you already know or are already comfortable with. Microsoft actually offers great videos on their website for basic fundamental SharePoint Training. I have used these training videos in some of my own training sessions with end users.

Return on Investment
  • We've had a number of false starts on getting all of our clients' assets documented. The culture shift just has not happened yet and there is a general lack of trust in the data.
  • It's nice to not have to go hunting for information about client assets anymore. We can be much more productive this way.

  • We've recently implemented Microsoft SharePoint access via iPads for our Template teams out on job sites. They can easily upload CAD / Laser files into Microsoft SharePoint for our production team to review in real time. Serious ROI when we don't have to wait for our Template team to get back to the shop!
  • We have multiple physical locations. Microsoft SharePoint allows users at each location to collaborate by working on documents simultaneously. Allowing us to solve multi-site problems & strategize on multi-site initiatives much faster!
  • We can also share key information with external partners. As long as they have a registered MS account (not necessarily an O365 account) we can share our information with them in a variety of ways. This allows consistent & concise communication with our partners.
