Chose JAGGAER
Currently integrating SAP Concur although it's very new to us so I cannot speak much on it. Initial thoughts is that the user setup concept is similar but I don't have much else outside of that.
Chose JAGGAER
JAGGAER seems more intuitive and more robust for users
Chose JAGGAER
The SciQuest bid system is new and integrating it would be difficult since we have quite a lot of historical bid information that SciQuest cannot obtain from IonWave.
Chose JAGGAER
Although the base costs for Oracle were cheaper, by the time you added in all the additional charges for oracle, it ended up being significantly more expensive. In addition, we felt the SciQuest product was better suited our needs. It was geared more towards a science/research …
Chose JAGGAER
SciQuest is an easier solution for our users to navigate and use
Chose JAGGAER
Again, our SciQuest system integrates with Banner. Banner does have a way to create, approve and report on POs. However, the SciQuest product is so much more user friendly, so the learning curve is very steep. Also, SciQuest gives us a lot more detail in our reporting and PO …
Chose JAGGAER
Product functionality and ease of use was better than others.
Chose JAGGAER
We conducted a one year RFP. No one, not even Aribi, was able to do what SciQuest could do in the higher educational space. Granted that was seven years ago, but in my opinion no one could touch them.
Chose JAGGAER
Have not used any other online ordering system besides SciQuest
Chose JAGGAER
PeopleSoft eprocurement 9; it is much more complicated than SciQuest.
Chose JAGGAER
SciQuest has a better model for how they work with the suppliers themselves. Other groups use a model where suppliers have to pay in order to be included in the list of suppliers that they support.
Chose JAGGAER
Never used another online procurement solution in my other jobs. I of course purchase things online with amazon etc.
Chose JAGGAER
Better enforcement of state contracts. Sciquest also has good form builder functionality
Chose JAGGAER
I have only used SciQuest, i cannot compare it to the others you have listed. I do know that SciQuest works very well in a large or small company setting.
Chose JAGGAER
better tech support from SQ. easier user interface with SQ
Chose JAGGAER
As a supplier, SciQuest is selected by our customers - we are always confident when this selection is made.
One appreciates working together with SciQuest when considering some of the issues we've encountered with other marketplace/procurement solutions:

SAP Concur
Chose SAP Concur
SAP Concur is much reliable solution compared to peers in the market. In addition to reliability, the capabilities, future roadmap, flexibility and integration with ERP landscape makes it a simpler choice, keeping the architecture clean and following our SAP architecture …
Chose SAP Concur
Concur is not fully integrated into SAP ecosystems. If the users have implemented SAP extensively, we could see a big advantage of Concur against these expense and payroll management systems.
Chose SAP Concur
Better planning activities, but lack of trip concept
Chose SAP Concur
I am an end user, cant choose!
Chose SAP Concur
We use AmTrav for travel booking and SAP Concur for the expense reporting and approvals. SAP Concur may be a better solution for travel booking, however I have not used it.
Chose SAP Concur
Overall SAP Concur was the best because of its inherent integration with our SAP application through ICS.
Chose SAP Concur
we really defaulted to SAP Concur as it is an SAP product and considered best in class. we really did not explore others.
Chose SAP Concur
Its integrated and most robust among others.
Chose SAP Concur
SAP Concur is the best choice if you are already in the SAP ecosystem. Other solutions do not generally provide anything more than SAP Concur and from an integration perspective, it is more seamless to use SAP Concur if your main ERP is SAP S4/HANA. This is why we use SAP Concur.
Chose SAP Concur
SAP Concur is a one-stop shop both for making travel arrangements and submitting expenses.

Chose SAP Concur
I was not involved in the product evaluation. However, the integration of travel booking, travel expense recording, expense reimbursement payments and status tracking are a high positive for this product. This product allows the employee to set up their own profile, integrates …
Chose SAP Concur
I have previously used HRT and indigenously developed software for this. They are no match to SAP Concur as the procedures are lengthy, cumbersome, error prone and lacks visibility. Not to miss out mentioning that the UX is not friendly, despite regularly upgrading the product …

The SciQuest application helps guide users toward preferred suppliers. The efficiencies experienced in both sending out orders to suppliers as well as bringing back invoices helps our users maintain their inventories as well as allowing them to better understand the condition of their budgets and spend because of the quick turnaround

SAP Concur is great for large organizations because of it's built in approval process functions. It is great tool for expense reports and any company where employees need to book travel. I imagine that the tool would be more tricky to use for those who are less technically savvy since there are many tabs and it is sometimes tricky to navigate.

Pros
  • The workflow works great for routing requisitions to the appropriate approvers. It's also very customizable to adapt workflow to fit our current policies.
  • SciQuest pushes requisitions straight into our ERP, eliminating the need for duplicate data entry.
  • Punchouts are a great time saver for our end users to compare pricing within the same system.

  • SAP Concur has mobile applications for iOS and Android devices.
  • It offers capabilities that automate complex and repetitive accounting processes.
  • In addition, SAP Concur offers invoice, travel, and expense modules in one place.
  • It eradicates errors when paying vendors by matching POs, invoices, and receivables.

Cons
  • The UI is pretty dry form a user point of view (I've heard this many times by end users over the years)
  • Documents look the same for the most part (for invoices, reqs and POs)
  • Possibly some updates other types of data exports

  • Data syncing between the mobile app and the web platform may occasionally experience a little delay. That is not a major problem, but it can cause small inconsistencies in real-time data.
  • Concur's setup features may seem a little complicated to certain administrators.
  • Concur offers a number of powerful reporting services, but some users might want more in-depth options for tailoring reports to their own business requirements.

Well, I put it in the middle because I hope someday we will get a chance to put eProcurement suite of needed products out for RFP one day. It will not happen anytime soon due to the current administration. But I'm hopeful, and if and when it happens, SciQuest no doubt will be a strong contender.

Now that we are fully on Concur, switching is not an option. Concur has become ingrained in our expense reporting process. Furthermore, Concur continues to improve its offering. Each month, they release updates and changes, many of which were client requested. Concur's constant evolution means it is adapting with my business

Usability
There is a 3 month learning curve and then the features are easy to use. My AP team processes 400 invoices daily through the system. The things to watch for are vendor billing mistakes (no/incorrect PO number, information discrepancies) and buyer purchase request inconsistencies. Those are part of AP anyway so maybe it is what it is. The Sciquest AP software performs as designed some improvements needed. In our system I have documented a list of 60 improvements that could increase throughput up to 50%. Those improvements include making the AP records GUI format more customized for AP purposes, and improving the QC tolerance functionality, which can be laborious to sync (Match).

I think it is very easy to use, especially once you are acquainted with it. I think the UX could be improved so some things, like accessing old reports, are more intuitive once you learn it though it is not difficult to replicate.

Reliability and Availability
They have had only a couple of very quick occasions where they were down for 1-2 minutes. One time they had a problem adding attachments. Very Reliable!
In prior years I would have given them a 9.5 for availability. Unfortunately in 2015 so far this rating has dropped to a 7 overall.
We have experienced far too many interruptions - from admins to employees who rely on it for day to day booking of travel and submission of expense reports. Server errors, slow system response time and spinning wheels are too common place. Those things should be a rare occurrence, not a daily interruption.

While Conur still has great product offerings overall, they are currently not offering world class or best in class product (and customer service) availability. Remaining hopeful they step up and get their A game going again soon.

Performance
Having used SciQuest for over five years and having their competitors, SciQuest offers the best user experience and integration between vendors and ERP.

Performance-wise, it's good, loads pages quickly, and reports are highly accurate and easy to understand. Also, we can generate custom reports as needed, and we have integrated with a few other apps, and we have not seen any downgrade in performance.

24/7 support. Never send you to India or some foreign country support line. Always get an answer, even if it's an answer you did not want. Always well formed conclusions/solutions to problems. They genuinely seem to care about the service they provide

I have never had to use customer support when using Concur Expense - the UX could be a bit nicer on the eyes or easier to understand, but there have never been any problems when using Concur Expense that I have had to ask or reach out to customer support to help me with anything.

My Seniors were the ones who taught me about Concur. Concur Support team has sent me training links and answered me in their tickets too. Usually they are helpful and knows their stuff. There are times when webex meetings is conducted for reporting training. They were very patient and took down all the details from me.

Implementation Rating
We had an internal project manager who was well versed in PMI methodologies. I think the implementation would have gone far less successfully, or may even have failed entirely, without her. She was able to do all the things a project manager is supposed to do, and in an ordered and organized manner.
There are different implementation teams for each module of the product you purchase, so implementation is not a 'one size fits all' environment. Also, the different implementation teams have different ways of doing things, so Concur could stand some standardization and streamlining in this area. A Project Manager can make or break an implementation so don't be scared to ask for a new one if things are rocky.

As a supplier, SciQuest is selected by our customers - we are always confident when this selection is made. One appreciates working together with SciQuest when considering some of the issues we've encountered with other marketplace/procurement solutions: - Uneven support from staff who were less than fully trained - Non-adherence to standards such as cXML despite claims to be compliant - Difficulty garnering project resources necessary to complete an implementation - Outdated and error-prone catalog management portals

Sirion One has very limited functionality. SAP Concur goes seamlessly with SAP. It generates the SAE file, which feeds the GL Posting. SAP Concur has huge network of all the travel partners providing multiple options and range depending on organization strategy. It is easily linked with Outlook calendar, prompting user for all travel related activities and news.

Scalability
Highly reliable remotely hosted PTP solution that interfaces with our remote OCR vendor and with university sited operational servers. Twice a year over the last 3 years a SciQuest/OCR system file handling or network problem occurs that gets fixed within a day.

This program has been very helpful, user friendly and has been a great asset to use to assist with time management. Not only are leadership involved with using this program but all staff as well. This is also a great way to hold each accountable. Easy startup with not many means for hands on training

Return on Investment
  • Customers seem to be fine with selecting requisition items and having them pushed back via carts to a legacy system.
  • Converting one's legacy ERP system to a SaaS solution may prove to be too much of an overhaul in regards to converting to a new set of rules which do not fit exactly with current business processes. The inability to enhance in great detail is also a drawback for customers coming from a highly modifiable system.
