Klaviyo
Chose Klaviyo
We have not really evaluated other offerings outside of Klaviyo because I understand Klaviyo to be best in class for our use case. I think it has the best integrations out there. We do use other platforms for SMS and customer reviews (Which I know are solutions that Klaviyo …
Chose Klaviyo
Klaviyo is more robust that Constant Contact and Aweber, yet no less easy to use. It's also every bit as feature-rich as Active Campaign, but easier to use. (in my opinion) They're customer support isn't as good as Constant Contacts, but the tradeoff is a more sophisticated ESP …
Chose Klaviyo
For ecommerce, MailChimp and Constant Contact do not compare with Klaviyo. While their builders are not different, and the ability to create pleasing emails are similar, the targeting, segmentation, and data available are worlds apart. That said, I have not used MailChimp or …
Chose Klaviyo
We evaluated MailChimp and Salesforce Marketing Cloud. MailChimp was too basic at the time and didn’t scale well. Salesforce was overly complex, required a large team, and was costly to integrate and manage daily. Klaviyo stood out for its ease of setup, user-friendly …
Chose Klaviyo
We used Mailchimp to start out, and it is great for a small customer base but as our customer base grew we needed more power and Klaviyo had it. Including so many different automated flows and integrations to other apps and a/b testing and more. I would still recommend …
Chose Klaviyo
MailChimp was adequate for basic email marketing, but Klaviyo offers a far superior experience with its advanced segmentation, automated flows, and deep integration with Shopify. Klaviyo’s behavioral data analysis and A/B testing provide more precise targeting, while its robust …
Chose Klaviyo
Klaviyo has better custom options as well as better dynamic content. Not just the Klaviyo works flawlessly in integration with Shopify which is a huge plus.

Moreover it allows me to actually use the custom html features unlike other products where I need to have full …
Chose Klaviyo
HubSpot has a more robust CRM, but there are things I prefer in Klaviyo. Namely the email builder and flow setup.
Chose Klaviyo
At the time we used Attentive, Klaviyo did not have an SMS product. Attentive was very difficult to use, and provided little to no detailed reporting/analytics. It was very expensive, and had no integration with our email customers. They only provided us a shared short code, …
Chose Klaviyo
I’ve been using it for a while, so I haven’t evaluated other opportunities.
Chose Klaviyo
Klaviyo had better integrations and was easier to setup and getting running than the alternatives we had tried.
Chose Klaviyo
Klaviyo is the #1 email platform of choice for ecommerce. It out ranks every competitor. It is worth paying a little extra because you know you are providing your customers with the best experience and equipping your business for success. Email should be something you invest in …
Chose Klaviyo
We selected Klaviyo in 2018 when they were disrupting the space. They provided a lot of offerings for a value price.
Chose Klaviyo
Mailchimp is absolutely nothing compared to Klaviyo. Klaviyo's interface and functionality are far superior, and the types of emails and data analytic features are what have kept me a customer of Klaviyo for years. I am grateful for the benefit that Klaviyo has had for my …
Chose Klaviyo
Klaviyo provides much more insight into customer data than other email marketing software. For this reason, they are much stronger for e-commerce businesses as the data it provides is very beneficial for e-commerce businesses.
Chose Klaviyo
Klaviyo is much much better for micro-segmentation needs especially in e-commerce.

Very simple to use as well.
Chose Klaviyo
Mailchimp was used early in the business when we didn't have as many customers and weren't segmenting. We've used Yotpo for loyalty, reviews, and, most recently, SMS. We have yet to try Klaviyo reviews or SMS, but it would be nice to have all of these items in one suite.
Chose Klaviyo
A different marketing manager used mailchimp and omnisend and she is no longer with the company to ask. Emotive terrible to work with and Klaviyo was incredible to work with after them. It has made a huge difference having SMS and email in one place.
Chose Klaviyo
The comparison of Mailchimp to Klaviyo is that Mailchimp is a very simple email platform that is good for small businesses that are just getting started, while Klaviyo is a more in-depth email marketing platform that is great for businesses looking to grow and succeed in email …
Chose Klaviyo
As I explained, it was superior to MailChimp for sure. Attentive had more SMS features, but Klaviyo does what I need for SMS, and the fact that it has email & SMS in a single platform, with the ability to create campaigns and flows that use both, makes it a win.
Chose Klaviyo
Klaviyo doesn't necessarily need data architects or engineers to support or tie the data together. Salesforce Marketing Cloud typically requires a partner, data architect and/or someone who knows SQL. The email templates and help documentation are extremely easy to use and …
Chose Klaviyo
Mailchimp is super outdated, and for a while there they lost their integration with Shopify. Attentive started out with only being a SMS platform, not email. So because of that, we did not want to migrate everything over to Attentive once they launched email since everything …
Treasure Data
Chose Treasure Data
I would put Treasure Data up against any CDP.
Chose Treasure Data
Both Tealium and Evergage are mostly focused on online sources. They don't have as easy or robust data model capability to ingest CRM, e-commerce, or offline data. Bluevenn has good identity resolution like TD, but the Unify data processes/model are not exposed to the customer …
Chose Treasure Data
We selected Treasure Data because we felt they were the best fit for a publisher as diversified as Penske. Because we have so many lines of business and integrated systems, we needed a product that had an extensible framework and was not tied to concrete workflows.
Chose Treasure Data
Treasure Data is a leader in the CDP space with a very easy-to-use platform for engineers, the ability to customize, customer success and investment in our business, and the ability to provide value and return on investment.
Chose Treasure Data
Treasure Data seems to be more flexible and scalable compared to Lytics at that time (early 2019). Our possibilities to adapt the platform to suit better our complex business environment (global, multi country, multi brand) were also a positive point. And finally, their …
Chose Treasure Data
We chose Treasure Data for the supreme customer service and lack of hidden costs. We don't need to manage any infrastructure or scale anything to meet customer demand. Treasure Data handles everything and makes it easy for us to integrate and focus on the tasks at hand. There …
Chose Treasure Data
Treasure is a more centralized and focused platform than Salesforce. Salesforce has many solutions that they seem to piece together in order to create your desired stack. Treasure integrates very well with other 3rd party technologies and you also get a more personalized …
Chose Treasure Data
Customer Data Platform powered by TD provides details on customer journey & individual mapping as well. GA provided aggregate level data and not the customer details. We can focus in unknown customers as well using cookie data using CDP. Custom attribution model can be created …
Chose Treasure Data
I can refine customer behavior more than Google Ananlytics or see it without aggregation errors.
Chose Treasure Data
Treasure Data has more customizations plus the cost factor.
Chose Treasure Data
This is the first big data environment that I have used for marketing purposes. But Treasure Data's infrastructure could allow any kind of business to be managed in this platform--that's why this is very interesting. It's not only a consumer data platform, it's a big data …
Chose Treasure Data
More flexible in terms of capability, better DEVOPS (though still not ideal), large and better out of the box features/connectors, better UI, cost, integrated audience studio and active data layer (real time access data)
Chose Treasure Data
Treasure Data is easier to implement
Chose Treasure Data
I did/do think that Adobe Analytics is a good tool that helps bring in all data. I really think the big point with the tool is for metrics and de-duping across media campaigns. Treasure Data is definitely much more than that. You do get to see how all of your campaigns 'play' …
Chose Treasure Data
Unfortunately, I was not apart of the decision to onboard Treasure Data. I was very new to this space when I inherited this tool and initiative on my team.
Chose Treasure Data
Based on my experience, the most striking difference between the two platforms are the way their data models are organized.
Agilone (now part of Acquia) has a very hard/strict requirement for integration with the source systems as we need to conform/adhere to their …
Chose Treasure Data
We didn't consider any other customer data platform solutions other than Treasure Data.
Chose Treasure Data
There is a limited amount of human resource in the market who has knowledge in CDP. Treasure Data is simple and easy to navigate so that a newbie might find it easy to grasp its working concepts and initiate performing on the same. Whereas Tealium is more suited for a person …
Chose Treasure Data
Treasure Data was also chosen before I arrived at the organization. Also, I'm not person who's in charge or writing the queries which means that I let someone know what I need to use the software for and they let me know if Treasure Data is best suited. However, that being …

Klaviyo performs exceptionally well as a newsletter service, helping our tabletop gaming company educate customers, retailers, distributors, media, and press on our product offerings and events. It has significantly boosted sales by allowing us to provide targeted and engaging content. Klaviyo’s robust data reporting allows us to track newsletter attribution to Shopify sales, offering invaluable insights. Customer service is fantastic, always helpful and responsive. However, recurring bugs and glitches—such as issues with font size, color, text block sizes changing on their own, or text disappearing entirely and forcing you to restart a section—can be very frustrating, impacting the smoothness of the user experience. The gains far outweigh the downsides.

Any time you need to process and store very large volumes of data at scale, Treasure Data will aways be at the forefront of my mind. Especially if the data being handled is constantly changing or evolving, rigid schemas just wont do. Treasure Data has the ability to adapt as your product needs change over time. Having the storage and processing flexibility is a huge win.

Pros

  • Klaviyo helps me to measure the success of email campaigns.

  • CDP provides a unified view of data from all touchpoints in the customer journey until a single customer uses the service. This feature is very helpful in making service decisions and direction.
  • It provides a variety of extensions to bring your data together in one place and helps you do this easily.
  • Kits provided by Treasure Box provide basic but helpful methods for further development of services.

Cons
  • At times the platform isn't as intuitive as you would like. Take the time to be onboarded and play around in the platform to get the hang of things. Utilize Klaviyo's resources and attend their live training sessions to help navigate the platform and implement best practices they recommend.
  • Can be pricey depending on company and email list.
  • Customization is limited at times. The brand font we utilized on all branded content wasn't available through Klaviyo. Previously we would have to go through the back end to implement our branded font, import our font, or create content on another platform to utilize our font.

  • Pricing is a bit of a black box. We are currently priced on split hour usage and some spikes come out of nowhere and leave us seeking answers (and sometimes finding unsatisfactory ones).
  • Some jobs will fail, causing workflows to be interrupted due to a product change or a one-time product related issue. We usually contact Support in these cases, and while they are incredibly responsive and helpful, it would be great to have more proactive communication.
  • Treasure's UI leaves us wanting more in terms of organization and controls, especially as we scale and grow the number of data sources, queries, and workflows.

Klaviyo is simply a great solution for e-com email marketing & customer relationship management:
  1. User journey visibility: We can see our clients' customers on their individual user journeys (open email, site visits) to better understand and accommodate your customers.
  2. Flow automation: Creating automated emails that follow up with new leads, those who abandoned carts, purchased.
  3. Email design: So easy to use, and more friendly than some other visual builders that we've used.
  4. Metrics visibility: We can see our clients' metrics very easily and adjust efforts accordingly.

Because treasure data is a great platform with a great support team behind, it's a scalable solution that deals well with huge amounts of data every day and has a huge catalog of integrations that can be easily use to download data from several platforms, like aws s3, redshift, google bigquery.

Usability
It's a decent platform with a user friendly interface, however it massively misses trust due to unsecured systems and support from customer service; support is a massive problem if you run a company and have a problem with the service that you can't fix. On the other side of the line, in our experience, there is no support or understanding which we haven't encountered with any other company we have done business online in the last decade.

If you are a data person, you will likely understand the product and how to use it well. We did find that some of our queries run into memory issues though. If you are a marketer and want to build easy audience segments, I am not sure how easy it will be for you. We are still working through this.

Their support is always quick and we have recurring meetings with our advisor. they were great when we first started at walking us through the platform and helping us understand how to do the overall setup. They also have a wide variety of articles that cover must issues in a very clear manner that will get you out of a predicament really fast.

The technical team has a good hold on the nuances of the data related to our organization. I have found the online technical support on their site quite responsive including the L1 support. In cases where the L1 team isn't able to resolve, I have found they are prompt in getting the product team's input to get a quick resolution.

Don't cut corners, do it right the first time, if you take your time to build everything the way you want it then it will run itself. We used Mailchimp to start out, and it is great for a small customer base but as our customer base grew we needed more power and Klaviyo had it. Including so many different automated flows and integrations to other apps and a/b testing and more. I would still recommend Mailchimp if you have less than 5,000 contacts but anything over that you need Klaviyo.

Return on Investment
  • we have grown our revenue significantly without increasing our spend. This is critical.
  • retention rate has gone up tremendously with specific campaigns and audience targeting
  • would love to personalize more but we are a small team and struggle to do as much as we could. It would be great to have an account manager who could make account based recommendations

  • When there are Treasure Data updates, there might be old functions that are deprecated or existing functions which no longer work as before --> this may have impact on existing workflows/queries
  • As many developers are working on the same environment, the jobs are queued because there is a limited amount of computation cores available --> if we want to increase it, our client needs to pay for more cores
  • As data are increasing, some workflows are too expensive and need to be rethought / made more efficient --> this means re-designing existing workflows and also requires constant support from Treasure Data which analyzes the queries and identifies points of improvement that allows client to pay less
