Definitely the best tool for prospecting potential links and helping to clean up link profiles. It also helps you to consider other potential link opportunities that you may not have thought about. Its ability to find more links than most other tools certainly sets itself apart from most of the competition.
It is helpful if you are trying to understand where a site stands in terms of the links coming to it from different websites. It is less helpful in terms of providing specific actions or steps to take to get more links. However, it is a part of a larger Moz package so other areas provide information that can help there.
calculates the opportunity or risk of potential links that are not built yet, so you can go only after the good ones
gives you fresh data from 26 link sources and lets you analyze the full backlink profile. Google search console gives you only a sample of your backlink profile.
powerful link prospecting made easy
possibility to connect with Pitchbox (professional outreach tool for link removal and link building campaigns), SEMRUSH, Ahrefs, GSC
It links in with Moz’s domain authority concept, which we use as our main metric of how well our SEO works.
It shows you which sites link to you, and ranks to them by domain authority. This helps us understand where our best inbound links come from, and to hopefully target those valuable partners for more links.
It shows you which keywords you rank for, your position on the search engine results pages for each keyword, and how difficult it is to rank for those keywords. We use this to spot where we rank on the second or third page for medium difficulty keywords. We’ll then write content to target those keywords.
Accessibility - the layout is not as intuitive as it should be. Of course, this is a professional tool and not meant for the faint of heart. However, the design elements could be more intuitive.
Redundant tools - our company utilizes several of the tools to help audit and augment our client profiles. Some of the tools may be a bit redundant. However, it's not a terribly big deal, as we just don't use those tools.
Limited searches for certain price points - I understand that there has to be competitive pricing especially with the level that Link Research Tools is offering. However, it would be nice to have unlimited searches.
I’m not qualified to give a rating for this because I’ve never used support specifically for Moz Link Explorer. On the site there are “what’s new” and “help” sections to help those who need further assistance. Also there is a ton of great content regarding SEO and backlinks on the Moz website.
Link Research Tools are the only tools that gives us the most backlinks. No other tools finds as many backlinks to the website than LRT. LRT takes Backlinks from 25 Sources, even historic Backlinks from Majestic (>5 Years). It is very important if you disavow links that you have the best view on the links and that you can have as many Backlinks as possible for your audit.
I think Moz Link Explorer is a great add-on to the overall Moz tool, but compared to Ahrefs, it’s not as robust because Ahrefs' main focus is on the backlink profile. I like SEMRush’s function of being able to reach out to websites directly from the platform and track all of your progress in there.
When we removed Google Manual Penalty, SEO visibility went up and we saw some sales increase
We now have cleaner and healthier backlink portfolio and not in danger of any radical Google interventions
We now know in advance which websites are good to build links on - this is not only good for traffic but for SEO visibility and at the end for sales overall
