Chose Microsoft Dynamics GP
It is more powerful in features and ease of use as Microsoft GP provides an intuitive user interface leading to quicker adoption.
Due to the size of our company Microsoft Dynamics GP works better for us than Quickbooks because of the reporting capabilities. However, the NetSuite demo proved to be much more user-friendly with more reporting capabilities.
Because GP doesn't do CRM we have looked at D365 Customer Engagement for our field service, and F&O as a replacement. Vaporware, no direct upgrade path, and if you want to continue with GP for your back office and just use Field Service it's an insanely complex integration …
There are more features and products overall in the Microsoft package at a better price point. Overall, Salesforce has a much sleeker and more user-friendly design.
We moved from Epicor Eagle N Series to Dynamics GP as an accounting solution for our new POS system. I believe Dynamics GP has more options to create and present financial statements for a large company with many regions and districts. However, because of the weakness of our …
They both accomplish the same thing, I think Oracle was what I first learned and thus making the change to Microsoft Dynamics GP just took a little bit of time to learn the technology. After you get the hang of it, it becomes much easier and I taught my coworkers how to use it.
I did not pick Dynamics over Salesforce, my company was using it and eventually switched over to Salesforce. I would say that Dynamics is user-friendly and the interface is quite easy to understand. I really like the reporting capabilities as well. Once again, the aesthetic …
At the time of purchase, Microsoft Dynamics GP seemed more appropriate and more in sync with the needs of our company. The software was more responsive, user-friendly and it allowed for more flexibility with the way it was intended to be used. We were also promised better …
My recollection of Quickbooks pro isn't great, and it was over 10 years ago. Obviously many things have changed in that time frame, so any comparison would likely not be relevant.
The only product with have shopped was Sage Intacct. It is somewhat unfair to compare the two solutions, because Sage Intacct is a cloud-based solution. That said, Intacct appears to advertise better reporting/business intelligence capabilities. MS Dynamics GP should be aware …
Microsoft Dynamics GP is one of the best ERP's for a medium or small business in the market today. When we were looking for the right software, it had already a connection developed with our 3rd party logistics system, so the decision was pretty easy since the logistic / supply …
Dynamics GP is much more flexible and enterprise-oriented than Quickbooks Pro or similar software. It can support many more users and scenarios. However it requires more dedicated infrastructure (such as servers and databases) and more dedicated IT resources to maintain and …
I love Dayforce for payroll. It has been configured to meet all our needs, is user-friendly and the customer support is fantastic. We originally moved from MDGP payroll to Ceridian Insync payroll due to the issues we had. We upgraded to Dayforce and are very happy with the …
Learning GP with so many resources from the GP community has been easy. Someone always has the answer or suggestions to point me in the right direction. I've had very few instances where the systems caused an error that required research in order to fix the glitch.
We looked at several general ledger software packages. We had excellent customer service and implementation guidance through a third party. Having a knowledgeable consultant is critical to a successful implementation.
Quickbooks Pro and GP are not on the same playing field. GP is a full account system adhering to GAAP, while QuickBooks is designed for the small business market. While starting out with QuickBooks is easy, if you plan to grow, you will soon outgrow it.
Microsoft Dynamics is a good, easy to use product for entities that do not have advanced manufacturing. If I were to go into a distribution or service type business I would highly recommend it. If I were to go into an advanced manufacturing environment I would not consider GP.
Selected because of Intercompany workflow, consolidated reporting functionality, system controls, available modules for fixed assets and inventory. GP was the best value for the points mentioned.
We are still using Applied Epic for our end AMS system to record client and policy info for our agencies. Workday is a great add on tool we use for our consolidated financials.
Workday Financial Management provides a seamless experience to access your required documents or review your pay history. Everything can be done in one place. It true is the one stop shop for digital HR hub to open up self serve to employees. Workday Financial Management has …
Despite AirTable also being easier to use one thing that differentiates and put forth Workday Financial Management tool above is it's key features and better suited functionality for handling confidential data. The other positive note where Workday Financial Management performs …
I have much less experience working with Salesforce finicial application. but as per my knowledge it also provides reboust features and one of the top competitor of its. Workday Financial Management need to improve more and more to sustain.
WFM is integrated with SSO, while others are not fully integrated. SAP Concur was used mostly for expense report management, while Deltek Costpoint was used for project time and cost management. Deltek was not very user-friendly, unreliable, and expensive for what it handled.
Workday is far superior to UKG. UKG felt cumbersome while being used, whereas Workday felt easy and intuitive. Workday allows for an easier flow of completing numerous everyday functions. I aim to integrate it into as many of my daily work routines as I can, reducing the time …
Workday Financial Management absolutely blows them out of the water. Hands down is the best choice. It’s the clear winner for all teams using it. It can change your employees lives and day to day software challenges to speed up and develop reports needed across departments.
The processing power of Workday Financial Management we much better. The other systems didn't run as fast when trying to look at the financials or running any of the various reports that we would need. It also has a cleaner view when looking at the details.
The application data of users in the case of PeopleSoft is stored in its proprietary data storage, whereas Workday Financial Management connects to outside databases to create analytics reports. Therefore, this option uplifts the need to use Workday Financial Management as an …
We went from PeopleSoft to Workday because of the efficiency and ease of use. There were a lot of limitations in PeopleSoft, just in simple things like character limits on fields that did not allow us to be as detailed. Workday Financial Management/Revenue Management has very …
The costs to implement Hyperion were astronomical comparted to Workday. Furthermore, the implementation timeline was probably a third of what we would have been looking at had we gone with Hyperion. Simply put, we got somewhere in the neighborhood of 90% of what we needed for …
Stacking up it was a faster and more inexpensive implementation. Granted it was still early in the system development years, but the results and the five years of using it speak for themselves. Cloud we wanted, comprehensive financials was a core functional requirement and …
I miss using Workday Financial Managment, and if I moved departments or took on more responsibilities with the financials I would definitely recommend it!
It does accounting really well, it does payroll not so well. I say this because when you get into states that have complicated payroll laws like California, overtime calculations are hard to setup and get right. Same goes for other states when they do out of the normal pay structure like piece rate pay. It does HR, A/P and A/R really well and we have had no issues on that side; just payroll when it comes to certain states and how we do anything that is not salary or hourly.
Our primary model for budgeting revenue is centered on patient counts. Missed assumptions early in the year result in massive ramifications over the balance of the year. Workday formulas allowed us to write formulas to project the recovery of such shortfalls over a variable length of time, resulting in realistic projections for overcoming said shortfalls.
Able to be extended into multiple areas of your business
One feature we have been using for a few years is EFT for payables - it has significantly reduced the time spent paying vendors and reduced our check printing and mailing costs. It is very easy to setup and use.
We specically wanted a cloud financial management system that we could use in China and communicate reports to the headquarters organization and roll-up reporting. It performs well.
It was reasonably priced since we are not a for-profit company and need the Workday flexibility for finance and accounting operations. Most of our requirements are met with this one system.
The system worked efficiently with the additional security we built on to keep confidential. Many reports are ready off-the-shelf or easy to develop, which is a strength.
Having an integration between Project Accounting and Field Service would be amazing! There are so many companies that have service technicians that perform work on a customer's contract but also have a need for project accounting functionality within that customer's contract. Right now those modules are separate so you either need to use one or duplicate some efforts if you need to use both.
Microsoft Dynamics GP could do a better job documenting their new enhancements to the product. They realize great enhancements but the documentation about them, or new products, is lacking so it is difficult as a consultant to know everything a new feature can do for me and my customers.
They could enhance their forecasting capabilities with a new forecasting tool within Management Reporter.
Due the economic challenges that Puerto Rico is having, the company has had to merge some companies in order to be more efficient. It has been easy in GP to process those merges, even thought we had to spend days to accomplish that the process was smooth and accurate. In addition we were able to streamline the purchasing and sales process and the organization is confident to keep renewing GP for the future versions.
Overall usability of the older model is not quite so user friendly for the basic bookeeper, but at an accountants level we can generate all the necessary reports and create Sales Orders, Purchase orders and invoices - though it is a bit redundant to enter the sales and purchase orders separately instead of being able to convert a sales order directly to a puchase order by applying a price book like the newer versions can.
Workday Financial Management is an easy to use, productive software suite that really brings all departments together and improved workplace efficiency. Before we began using the software, much info was partitioned in random places that were not clearly labeled or accessible to all shareholders. We are very pleased with Workday Financial Management.
Our support team has been awesome. They are extremely knowledgeable and have been able to guide us through all of the challenges we have faced. Workday's community online is also extremely helpful with many trainings and help topics that can be reviewed at your convenience.
Basically the challenge with this implementation was the Business Portal, too many errors and even the aplication is up and running the users are still having issues. We will start planning the migraton to GP 2015 soon.
Because GP doesn't do CRM we have looked at D365 Customer Engagement for our field service, and F&O as a replacement. Vaporware, no direct upgrade path, and if you want to continue with GP for your back office and just use Field Service it's an insanely complex integration import/export. D365 F&O is a huge implementation cost, and without a direct migration path every bit of data has to be custom imported. There really is no straightforward way to stack up GP against these programs currently. Again, the future of GP is in some doubt.
The application data of users in the case of PeopleSoft is stored in its proprietary data storage, whereas Workday Financial Management connects to outside databases to create analytics reports. Therefore, this option uplifts the need to use Workday Financial Management as an interactive tool of business intelligence. The release model of Workday Financial Management is ahead of Oracle because it has a continual announcement of more functionality that is a very attractive incentive for our project management team for improving and developing the ongoing operational streams.
If implemented properly, the product can save many hours of data entry time - specifically by setting up integrations of large data sets.
Many times the underlying business process must be adjusted to accommodate software limitations. By being flexible, a company can leverage their users' skills in combination with GP to make data entry faster and more efficient. I have seen many companies eliminate the need for data entry personnel as well as reallocate employee hours to more skilled positions such as reporting and analytics.
Poor implementations, on the other hand, can cause employees to hate their jobs and the software. This isn't specific to GP but to the software industry in general.
Workday has helped my employer save money over the past couple of year by tracking time of employees and how long were days looking like.
It has enables us to make better decisions by hiring more people instead of paying overtime to those who already work in order to have the right work/leisure balance
The platform has also helped us to redesign our policies after seeing when employees were clocking in and clocking out and track people who were showing up late for work
