Paycor's pricing for small, mid, and enterprise companies varies based on product bundle and company size. Because Paycor HR software is built to help businesses scale and grow, plans are based on the mix of HR products needed, and company size. Payroll is at the core of Paycor's offering, and their products are sold as a part of their payroll and HR platform.
We have looked into other programs such as Classy and GiveGab/Greater Giving. While the customization on the forms for those alternatives are better, the prices for those programs are just too high.
I've utilized other ERP accounting software like Infor, NetSuite, and MS Dynamics, to name a few. MIP Fund Accounting offers flexibility and room for growth while not being overly heavy on your team to maintain it. And, we're now learning more about the add-on's and more …
Abila MIP Fund Accounting was already in place with the Agency I am currently employed with, when I started my position there. I was able to teach Sage to myself, but Abila has been a little bit more complex as far as that goes, at least in my opinion.
While I feel Sage Intacct is a good software, it does not suite the needs of the organization the way MIP does. As I had mentioned, the Knowledgebase that MIP Fund Accounting has is an incredible tool that makes it so much easier for us to find solutions and to get the help we …
Our county still has EDEN - we use MIP for our grant and contract tracking because MIP is much more flexible to track the Data and run reports from. EDEN is impossible to do the kind of tracking that we need to track and bill our grants and contracts.
MIP Fund Accounting is the only financial software program that I have used for the purpose of consolidating financial data, and it seems to perform that function with a minimal learning curve. My employer is a non-profit entity. MIP Fund Accounting is built to function for …
I prefer MIP to the other software I have been exposed to based on cost, ease of use, and functionality. I have tried Blackbaud about 14 years ago and was not impressed as it was hard to use and not intuitive at all. As for quickbooks, I have not used that program in mane …
MIP Fund works well such as one competitor I have used before. Adapting to other online program software systems is the only thing I can think of that MIP could do better. But primarily as a non-profit with little time on hand and always overworked, a simpler software program …
Compared to other software I've used, MIP is by far the most user friendly and easiest to operate that've I've seen. Reports are easy to run, and I love being able to narrow down the information to only pull specific items.
The HRA used RealPage (I'm not sure if it is actually the one listed above), and it did not work well. I'm not sure if it wasn't set up well, designed for larger property management companies, or just not good software, but it did not suit our needs at all. We chose a different …
We are in the very first stages of looking at alternative accounting software. Abila MIP Fund Accounting was implemented at our organization before I started and our organization has now outgrown the system.
I've used quite a few other pay apps through different companies I've worked with over the years. Truthfully, I don't feel like Payor is any better or worse than the rest of them.
Paycom is terrible or at least it was 5 plus years ago. The in The interface is terrible, there was no mobile app.. it was not a great solution solution and did not have good integrations. Over all the product was terrible for admins and employees In times of critical need …
You have way better control when running payroll. Also way easier to adjust individual employees paycheck. Peoplesoft benefits was difficult so we didn’t use it to enroll employees into health insurance . We used excel spreadsheets to calculate.
Paycor is much easier to set up and make changes on the go as the organization evolves. Paycor has a more pleasing interface for managers, software andmin, and employee experience. Reporting is probably more customizable with ADP and they seem to have better and more usable …
I was a big ADP fan and rolled out the system at my previous two jobs. Once I got to my new company I realized how and simple and awesome Paycor is. I would not switch to another company.
Paycor is better than Paylocity because at least with Paycor we get responses to our questions and concerns. We do have the best customer success rep and technical account manager who have done wonders for our experience and our account. There is SO much potential with Paycor, …
I prefer Quickbooks, it was the easiest system to process, approve, pay, and log. Taxes were easier however it was the most expensive and we were all told that the changes were being made.
Paycor seemed simpler and still allowed the employer to control many aspects of what the employeea can do. The cost was more effective than Paycom. The customer service was another area of concern, even though Paycor could improve on some reps speaking better English, this is …
Bamboo's interface and customer service is better than Paycor's. The main reason we have not switched is because of up-front implementation fees that come with every platform. If I had a blank slate, I am honestly not sure I would choose Paycor, but I don't mind having Paycor …
Paycom has all one system, so their different modules all talk to one another. They also have an excellent benefit module and EDI feed setup. We have had no problems with their benefit setup or EDI feeds; they work well!
Overall, I prefer it to the bigger HRIS systems that I work with (ADP, Paycom, Paylocity) and would chose Paycor above those listed. I do prefer utilizing other Ben Admin Systems (Gusto, Rippling, Ease) for pulling general reports, usability, and customer service needs for …
Sales rep were really respectful. I felt with some other vendors they were a bit aggressive. The demo that was made in house was nice and the guy demonstrating it knew a lot about the system which made us more confident in the decision. Also, the ability of having all in one …
MIP Fund Accounting works very well for general fundraising. The form creation process is easy and allows you to set parameters and add fees, quantities, images, etc. This process is smooth on the customer (forward-facing) side as well. Reports are generated once the transactions have gone through, making tracking and reconciliation with accounting easy.
In my experience, Paycor is well suited for organizations such as my own where the hiring process and fairly straightforward. A company that values ease of use, consistency, and organization will have great results with Paycor Recruiting. The system is also especially helpful when a company like mine must frequently recruit for the same exact role over and over again. That is where the customizable templates really come into play! On the other hand, a company that has a more specialized or complex recruiting process may struggle with using the platform. If more advanced integrations or data analytics are required then they would likely need a platform that is more robust in those areas.
General Ledger processing, including journal entries and reports
Ability to download all reports directly to Excel and PDF formats
Use of Grant codes to enable grant reporting by month/quarter/year
Ability to have multiple departments and consolidate into groups for reporting
Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable cannot be out of balance
Multiple ways to use the product including Cloud and Classic options, Visual menu or Standard (Top of screen) menus to select processes, many options we are not using in our simple organization
With the payroll process, if there is an error in sending the stubs through email, there is no option to resend without a restore. That really needs to change.
Being able to void encumbrance at the same time as a PO would be an incredible time saver.
Administrative/C-Suite level of canned reports and dashboards
Displaying company reminders or documents to sign that are urgent in a way that doesn’t allow an employee to clock out until they have completed the task.
I give MIP a 10 because Our organization use MIP Fund Accounting ever since I've been there and that's been for over 20 plus years for all of our accounting and payroll. MIP has stayed on the cutting edge of technology, ever evolving to meet the needs of the times, especially post pandemic, while many are working remotely! MIP support staff are very knowledgeable and efficient. Even new users can get up to speed quickly with MIP Fund Accounting.
The product is really good overall. The customer service is not the best and the benefits administration is kind of painful. However, the good outweighs the bad. We might get a different benefit admin system that can be integrated into Paycor. My controller doesn't want to switch anything for a [long] time.
I don't know what it would be like in the for-profit arena, but for the non-profit arena, it is an excellent product. I love how you don't actually have to close years and are able to get information that spans over the year-end. And the grant tracking is excellent too. It is just an excellent accounting system.
The performance management module was so inaccessible it was impossible to implement alone. They must have received this feedback a lot as then they started offering implementation specialists ($5,000!) that actually got us up and running. Before that I could not access the module. Other areas are relatively easy to learn via their support articles and videos
I have rarely encountered any issues accessing MIP Fund Accounting over the years. On the rare occasions when availability was interrupted, the reasons were always found in-house when using the on-premises version. Since we have migrated to the MIP cloud, we have had no issues with availability. Any maintenance or updates are always communicated to us and are usually done outside of business hours.
I feel like Paycor is always up and running! If they are planning downtime, they communicate it clearly. Every once in a while, I get something that says the system isn't working but it is usually back up within the hour. I typically find by the time that the employees complain about it, that it is resolved within the system.
MIP Fund Accounting is an important asset for performing search queries. If I had to do a historical search query without MIP Fund Accounting, I very well might have to pull data from three different programs, turn each piece into like-data myself, and then consolidate it all down into interpretive data. MIP Fund Accounting does it all by itself and has a wide array of ways to filter down as specifically or broadly as you want for any given query.
For the most part, everything moves super fast. There are a few sections (Expense Management) that sometimes take a bit to load correctly. Or if they are interesting, it takes a minute to talk to each other! But reports are quickly downloaded and available! Even data heavy reports run fairly fast!
I have not reached out to MIP for technical support; however, their website offers great help resources so I can solve an issue on my own. Another team member reached out to MIP for support and was helped quickly. The transition process took longer than expected due to a lag in communication.
I feel like support will transfer you back and forth between departments and put you on hold forever. I believe it is very difficult to see the status of an open ticket. During my experience, it feels like the client has to push all communication and request updates from support regularly.
There are no specifics on what happens if you make one choice or another to know which is the best selection. This is true for JVs and AP. In training we were not given specifics of what happens when one possibility is selected over another.
The training with Laura was amazing. She had answered all our questions and customized the training to our needs that we are working with and trying to address using MIP accounting. The only thing I wish that could come out of the trainings was to have permanent access to the recordings of our paid trainings we received. They recordings of the training only last for a short time before it goes away which makes it hard to go back and re-watch and learn.
The online trainings are super helpful. They have user guides that you can read through, interactive training that will walk you through it as well as plain web based ones. I've actually never had an in-person training but all of the information you need can be found online. They also will do individual support training if you are struggling with a certain area.
Again, I was not directly involved with the planning and setup of the software. However, I was involved in training my staff during the implementation phase. As with any software implementation, consistency of training is key and a willingness to seek out help from Customer Support helps tremendously to insure accuracy of information and training.
I've been through a payroll software implementation multiple times in my career, ranging from upgrades to an existing platform to complete replacement of providers. This implementation was the easiest from the standpoint of confidence in my implementation personnel. The implementation consultants at Paycor were AMAZINGLY knowledgeable about the software and offered us advice at every step of the way. We never had any concerns that they didn't know what we wanted or needed.
I've utilized other ERP accounting software like Infor, NetSuite, and MS Dynamics, to name a few. MIP Fund Accounting offers flexibility and room for growth while not being overly heavy on your team to maintain it. And, we're now learning more about the add-on's and more advanced capabilities to leverage with our team.
Overall, Paycor is a solid system that meets most of our needs. It offers a wide range of functionality and generally performs well. However, there are a few technical issues that create challenges, particularly within the onboarding module. From the few systems we have used, Paycor has the most potential
MIP is easy to install and use on my work laptop. I can still use the software when travelling for work or when working from home. It is always reliable and effective. This applies to other people on our organization as well. Employees who need access to the MIP database are able to access it from their desktop computers or laptops
I gave it a 10 because we only use it across one organization. However, it has allowed us to break it into multiple departments and layers of management. It is also easy for us to utilize across different locations but still under one master company. They have always provided us support when we decide to change something on an organizational level
When used, it also visibility to how we are using our allotted Government funds. It allows us to make sure we are being efficient with those dollars.
MIP Fund Accounting allows us to be more accurate in posting expenses. It allows us to be sure of which accounts are we are posting to. We can pull those accounts in real time and make sure that our entries are having the desired effect on the accounts involved.
MIP Fund Accounting allows accountability in that we can see who posted what, when they posted, and to which accounts they posted.
We can process Payroll in a 25% of the time that we previously could.
Scheduling takes 2 or 3 times as much effort as it did before.
Onboarding allows employees to do self-service but comes with a lot of questions from team members so it is net the same amount of time at the end of the day.
