We did not have a program before this. I was not a part of the purchasing decision for this program. The setup in QuickBooks that we could have used was not as functionally useful as ProcurementExpress.com for our purposes, according to the team that did purchase the software.
I was not the person to select ProcurementExpress but my company has been using it for all 5 years I have been here. We all love it and find it very easy to use and navigate. All 250 plus people use it and use it very often as we order on our own.
OpenText RFX is well suited with Smaller or midsize organizations where it can be used as standalone solution. For large organization with Custom procurement processes and integration requirements with other business products like SAP, there are better solutions are available which can be evaluated with OpenText RFX product. Custom development processes are limited in OpenText RFX and there are some solutions like SAP SRM and Ariba can be evaluated.
It's suited for SMEs looking to organize their purchasing process even in the absence of an in-house finance dept where people have a degree of autonomy in decision making on purchases Getting approvals can be slow at times, so if you have a very hierarchical company and the boss is never around to approve things, this will slow things down.
Great program for any small business in my opinion. I use it daily and recommend it for anyone who is having trouble with keeping track of outgoing purchase money. They make it easy for someone like me who is busy on all ends to have one less thing to worry about running a company.
