Considered Both Products
PagerDuty
Chose PagerDuty
There were more features and more ways to contact the provider. Ring Central would send out a call. I don't remember sending an email or text when I was paged. It seemed it was only an app on my phone and not located on my computer, where I could access it when I was working on …
Chose PagerDuty
Based on price and need, PagerDuty was the best option
Chose PagerDuty
PagerDuty has its advantages and costs associated. We use alternative to mitigate risk of failure, priority and effectiveness.
Chose PagerDuty
Better at the immediate response workflow
Chose PagerDuty
most of the team members were familiar with pagerduty and since its battletested and widely adopted and pricing was also competitive hence we have chosen pagerduty
Chose PagerDuty
PagerDuty provides better cost to value, and also includes AI based recommendations. Overall automatons possibilities are also great with this and since we have multiple integrations as well as we cannot easily to existing systems.
For us the responsive and helpful sales team …
Chose PagerDuty
We have not used another product in this space.
Chose PagerDuty
I like the PagerDuty much more than the FreshService UI. I find Freshservice to be extremly clunky and hard to use
Chose PagerDuty
Pagerduty is user adaptive and an indsutry leader in the incident managment/alerting management.
Chose PagerDuty
We have used Five9 for other features but haven't seriously considered using them for replacing PagerDuty. Our company already had PagerDuty when I joined and we haven't evaluated any other option.
Chose PagerDuty
PD is a set-it-and-forget-it solution. The application is reliable, has many features, and will drag a tech out of the deepest sleep so to put out a fire. Opsgenie is clunky at best. It can work, but the paging is unreliable, the schedule is a nightmare, and the integrations …
Chose PagerDuty
I have not use the 2 technologies for as long as I have used PagerDuty but in my opinion PagerDuty makes things a lot easier. The other tools got the job done and got alerts out but PagerDuty just seemed to make the setup for on-call alert schedules and integrations easier …
Chose PagerDuty
Pingdom is used alongside PagerDuty but it doesn't have the features to replace it. The two compliment each other very well.
Chose PagerDuty
It is hard to compare these solutions.
PagerDuty is currently being used in SaaS version, whereas Grafana & Loki are mainly implemented next to the packaged app.
The second solution, although time consuming and requiring maintenance is still a viable option. However, PagerDuty …
Chose PagerDuty
I worked at one company that used VictorOps (now Splunk On-Call) and it was quite similar to PagerDuty. VictorOps had a smaller customer base and fewer integrations, so there was less information on the Internet about how to use it effectively, and I don't think its API was as …
Chose PagerDuty
PagerDuty seemed to have a much more flexible setup that allowed the organization to build and manage how we respond to alerts and incidents. The ServiceNow product seemed to be a bit more rigid.
Chose PagerDuty
New relic is an excellent monitoring tool but the alerting features in PagerDuty make it a better option for event management.
Chose PagerDuty
PagerDuty has matched our expectations so far in terms of the quality and quantity of functionalities offered to manage incidents effectively. Other tools being considered during the purchase phase were quite expensive and failed to offer the features we required. They had …
Chose PagerDuty
PagerDuty is easy to integrate with API and cloud platforms also the solution is based on licenses per user which is kind of useful
SentinelOne Singularity
Chose SentinelOne Singularity
SentinelOne Singularity is also a very good product.Crowdstrike is also a leading company in EDR point of view and provide wide range of services and product. But because of last incident happen crowdstrike customer are bit hesitate going with crowdstrike. And SentinelOne …

Microsoft was cheaper, but way more difficult to get setup and deployed and to manage. VMWare carbon black got purchased by broadsoft, so I doged a bullet there.

Chose SentinelOne Singularity
SentinelOne Singularity is a far superior product to Symantec Endpoint Security, which is the product we migrated from, when we purchased SentinelOne. Symantec simply missed security incidents it should have been able to catch, and support has recently changed for the worse. …
Chose SentinelOne Singularity
In the distant past we had used iSensor through Dell. I can't say much about iSensor because we never really had it show any incidents or activity or reports. It might be better these days but from what I can tell, SentinelOne is the Gold Standard currently.
Chose SentinelOne Singularity
There is no question, although they all have pro's and cons, SentinelOne is far superior
Chose SentinelOne Singularity
SentinelOne and Microsoft Defender are both best of industry EDR solutions. We employ both in out environment in tandem to provided complete coverage of systems and protection against all emerging cyber threats.
Chose SentinelOne Singularity
Webroot is a great product but did not provide the versatility that we really were desiring. It allowed to us to centrally manage, but required policy-based management, and not the endpoint detail we wanted. SentinelOne's central management provides a variety of options for …
Chose SentinelOne Singularity
SentinelOne is definitely next-gen endpoint protection which makes it better than Symantec or Trend in that category. It prevents attacks and installs, allows you to monitor and update on the fly and works well overall. Also it is not as bulky as other products so you don't get …
Chose SentinelOne Singularity
SentinelOne had all of the major features that we were looking for. The other products either required too much administrative attention or were lacking key features. For example, one could be uninstalled by the end user. We required that the installation be password …
Chose SentinelOne Singularity
Compared to the competition there really is no comparison. While there are many far better known endpoint protection products that have been around many years longer, SentinelOne puts them all to shame. It is the most solid endpoint/anti-virus product that I have used in over …
Chose SentinelOne Singularity
There are in my opinion products with the characteristics that can be [compared] to SentinelOne.
Chose SentinelOne Singularity
SentinelOne has provided us better protection than other products we used in the past. We have also seen less impact on the system performance.
Chose SentinelOne Singularity
Only reason for choosing SentinelOne Singularity over crowdstrike was the cost because SentinelOne Singularity was much cheaper at that time as compared to the crowdstrike. Also, SentinelOne Singularity rating in gartner was higher than the crowdstrike which also gave it an …

I've used ICM in the past which has been a very Microsoft product with everything thrown into a blender. So, PD implementation is a breath of fresh air with focused pages to achieve the end goal. If the goal is to collaborate on issues across the organization, PD might not be the best solution but within specific teams, PD excels at it.

It works extremely well for investigating the root cause analysis of events because you can see so much detail into what was happening before, after, and around the detective incident. A weak point would be when the AI gets a little over-aggressive or doesn’t quite understand the use case for specific tools. Our RMM tool was detected as a pup.

Pros
  • Alerting notifications is its best attribute; it will continue to make contact until the alert is acknowledged by a user.
  • The calendar view provides valuable information regarding who is on call by the team and their full contact information.
  • The application also lets you initiate a tech bridge meeting instantly and notifies all on-call users.

  • SentinelOne provides excellent protection against known and unknown attacks to our endpoints.
  • The recovery option provides a fast, first line of defense against ransomware and other system damaging attacks.
  • SentinelOne requires minimal administrative support making it a very cost effective and efficient solution.

Cons
  • When getting a phone call, PagerDuty doesn't seem to allow acknowledgments of alerts through the phone, which it says it does. I constantly receive a message that it was updated by another person - when in reality, it wasn't.
  • Smarter notifications. If an alert was snoozed for a time, when it comes back, it sends out another alert. It should, I think, send a message asking if the alert is still an issue and give the option to close.
  • Make schedule changes more intuitive.
  • One button to acknowledge and close an alert.

  • Possibly for compatibility with legacy Windows OS's and non Windows OS's.
  • Some settings are greyed out and unable to change but I believe this is to protect you from making a bad configuration change.
  • Could do better with reporting at the base level subscription.

They have been rock solid for us thus far and are not very expensive and to be honest no time to evaluate other software at this point.

Usability
As I've been using this app for the last 3 years, I would like to see a few additions, like exposing the "create slack channel" option from the mobile app, rather than just from the PD website from the specific incident

There are some minor issues with the platform that can be mildly frustrating, but the overall performance, peace of mind, and ROI make it worth using. The management console is intuitive and easy to learn, the endpoint clients are simple but give IT professionals enough data to make management easy and simple

PagerDuty is reliable and easy to set up. It gives an effective way to notify the team about critical incidents which results in a faster turnaround time on issues. users can customize their alerts rules based on their preferences. Overall it's effective and easy to use which adds great business value.

Their support is good and quick to respond. The one issue we faced was when a non-protection issue arose there was a lot of dancing around trying to figure things out. This was frustrating as it took significantly longer to figure out issues. Lots of repetitive log gathers, screen caps, uninstalls that never seemed to resolve issues. Eventually, the product would be updated and the issue seemed to be resolved, but seemed to be the only solution.

When I setup notifications to PD thru the Python API I was impressed with the ease with which I could set up the software/service.

Return on Investment
  • Allow our service to be available 24/7 with minimal downtime, improving customer experience
  • Monitor incidents and allow us to customize/schedule alert notifications, making engineers' jobs easier and preventing turnover
  • Prevent SEVs that could deteriorate, bring down our service, and cost us millions of dollars from loss in bookings

  • SentinelOne has already proved its value by stopping attacks that would have gone otherwise unnoticed until much later in their infection process.
  • The Vigilance team has provided quick response to threats that were not easily contained via the automated response SentinelOne's agents provide. This has given us a significant piece of mind.
