Mid-Size Companies (51-1,000 employees)
Salesforce Spiff is a commission software that combines the familiarity of a spreadsheet with automation at scale. It is designed to streamline workflows, enable easier communication, and instill a high level of trust across all stakeholders.
Both PayScale and Paycom were pretty comparable, but I liked the detail and sophistication of PayScale a little more. Because PayScale has a place to enter in info on both the job and the market, we went with this software. The other factor I took into consideration was that I …
First of all, PayScale was by far the easiest tool to navigate and provided us with appropriate data. We had been working with Mercer for all of our compensation studies so the partnership with Mercer was attractive to us as well. I felt like I didn't get the best customer …
Others, such as Economic Research Institution, give us unlimited salary reports with our subscription. PayScale's reports are more customized and in-depth, however. But if you have several positions that you are benchmarking, the price can escalate pretty quickly with …
Honestly, the only other resources that I have used have been free online calculators, like on Glassdoor. These are often not accurate because they do not pull data based on the market or size of the company you are in but rather just for the job title. This often leads to …
I like how Salesforce Spiff is easy to use, navigate, and compare your past commissions. I really wish that you could compare to other agents so I would not be opposed to switching to other software. However, I do really like that it is so easy to use, quick to update, and …
I have added a few of the many Salesforce products we use. We also use HubSpot but they all have different functions so not really comparable as they are used for different things/ teams.
I have only tried the manual way of receiving statements via email with the actual report being attached as an Excel file. This makes it hard to track and raise questions if there are concerns with the statement. Having to submit a query via email is also too clunky and too …
The UI is by far better and easier to use that Exactly. Again, the data was there with Exactly but for us as sales reps to truly feel like we have trust in our commissions, it needs to be easy to follow and understand.
CaptivateIQ failed to show the depth of details I can get with Spiff. Spiff is much easier to navigate and overall is a more effective tool to forecast and visually much more pleasing.
We used google sheets before and it was a headache. While it did work, it was a lot of work and prone to human error. I would spend hours reconciling commissions each month and Spiff has made that process a breeze. I am happy we switched from google sheets to Spiff.
clari is more on the forecast side than actually compensation so I'd say they are pretty different within their scope, previously I used excel file to manage and calculate compensations
It is a night and day difference between Sheets and Excel. The fact that it is integrated with Salesforce and calculates commission as you close deals make it super transparent and efficient when it comes to tracking your performance and commission. Spiff takes the manual work …
The team at Spiff made it easy to choose their platform, they were extremely diligent and made the process seamless. They had worked with us on pricing and we were extremely satisfied with the end result. The user interface and simplicity was also a driving factor in choosing …
If you have a large employee base and you are trying to remain competitive from a compensation perspective, this tool is well suited to help you accomplish this goal. If you are not a comp expert, they have experts on hand that can help you through projects or just answer basic questions.
Spiff is a great tool for tracking your commissions - it’s rare in that it’s a valuable tool that I only need to look at once or twice a month. It does exactly the job that it needs to do.
PayScale has been great for our organization for benchmarking market salaries and wages for our positions.
The service was great as well, in that we were able to send our job descriptions over to have our jobs matched with the market.
The market reports have been extremely helpful and are easy to understand, and being able to see a breakdown between total cash, base salary, and bonus has been great.
Pre-recorded webinars on product updates would be great. I know they offer webinars, but many times they do not work into my schedule so I miss them. If they had a section on the site for training on product updates or new features that I could view on my own time I think would help me utilize the tool even better.
The ability to add-in or take away elements in the EE comp report. Some things are just not relevant to a company. I know a new release recently came out on the EE comp report and I am not a fluent with it as I once was (this is where the pre-recorded webinar or a learning byte would be helpful), but previously there were 3 versions of the EE comp report you could use. If I could add-in or drop-out sections to customize it to my company it would be nice.
it does everything it needs to and is expected to at a perfection! I have zero issues with the product. My favorite thing is the user interface is so easy to use, props to the product team for making something so easy to use and appealing to the eye. its great!
Overall, the use cases of Spiff have been helping us to address important problems when it comes to commission calculation: (1) Accuracy of the commission calculation, (2) Transparency over how the commission is calculated, (3) Automation of commission calculation, which in turn saves us significant amount of time and energy and allow us to focus more on more important tasks
In all my time using Spiff, I only recall it being unoperational (outside the times when there is scheduled maintence. During those times, Spiff does a good job at communicating when their services will be offline and why). The times when I do get a small error, 9 times out a 10 a simple refresh of the browser will fix the issue.
Pages load quickly, dashboards update numerous times throughout the day, and the integrations are seamless and operate without a hitch. On occasion, commissions will be delayed in calculating corrctly by a day or so, but that is quite rare. I don't find that delay to be a huge hinderance anyways.
Never had any issues with customer support as they are very responsive. The system is very reliable, therefore, we rarely interact with their customer support.
I needed my account to be set up and there seemed to be some technical issues with onboarding and a customer service rep made herself immediately available to liaison with our IT department to get me up and running. I did not expect them to tend to our request with such urgency.
The training was conducted by our Spiff Account Manager and they would even create recorded videos we could send to the sales team so when they log in, they would understand how to use Spiff. Account managers at Spiff are a huge reason why I like that company.
First of all, PayScale was by far the easiest tool to navigate and provided us with appropriate data. We had been working with Mercer for all of our compensation studies so the partnership with Mercer was attractive to us as well. I felt like I didn't get the best customer service with the other two products when we were in the decision stage. There was some pressure tactics that I didn't appreciate, and some unprofessionalism that seemed like red flags to me when discussing entering into a long-term contract. Not only was PayScale the best user interface for us, but they had our best interests in mind and were very professional to work with.
I have only tried the manual way of receiving statements via email with the actual report being attached as an Excel file. This makes it hard to track and raise questions if there are concerns with the statement. Having to submit a query via email is also too clunky and too time consuming.
We have a fairly large Enterprise sales team (200+ people and growing). Back when I first started at my organization this number was actually around 100 people. We've doubled in size since then and we have had zero problems adding these additional users.
We wanted to ensure that we were able to support our compensation strategy and decisions with verifiable and trusted market data, and Payscale Insight has allowed us to do that. Now, compensation conversations with employees are more effective and transparent, enhancing our engagement and retention.
Additionally, we have been able to better train our managers to understand our compensation philosophy and how we can leverage it to improve performance and set effective goals for our employees.
Payscale Insight has become our main source for compensation data, eliminating the significant time investment it would previously take to bring it all together, review and make a decision.
