User Testimonials
SlackSociabble

Slack is really effective for smaller teams to use as an internal communication platform. I think that it's still suitable even for companies of up to 500-1000 employees, but for larger teams it's less appropriate (or would require more aggressive organization, e.g. keeping channels protected and on an invite-only basis). It's really helpful for small team-to-small team communication too (like in our case where we create external channels to support POCs/business partnerships). It's not great for direct collaboration (e.g. it's hard to iterate on a project spec or a document together, directly in Slack) but it's well suited for conversational coordination, like planning meetings or asking informational questions.

Something I really [like about Sociabble} is the ease of use of the tool, for the most part, and the information provided about the various features within [the software]. On the other hand, [I suggest] that Sociabble [should prove upon] the different [purviews] of admin and users. Sociabble [could be useful if there [were] different gradations of admin's [role in coordinating with] the user's [ability to modify] and edit posts and comments.

  • User-Friendly Layout: A layout and feel that will be very familiar to anyone who uses other social media channels, especially Pinterest.
  • Ease Of Use: Incredibly simple platform to connect your profiles with and begin using; while it has significant opportunity for customization and higher-level usage, the basic purpose and configuration of the platform is incredibly straight-forward.
  • Customization: There are a ton of customizable options and elements that Sociabble provides, compared to other products on the market.

Cons
  • Undoubtedly Slack’s search function is powerful but sometimes it is difficult to find specific messages or files in very active channels with high message volumes. This needs an improvement.
  • I have experienced notification issues on my phone. I am not receiving notifications and have missed important updates as a result. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app, but the problem still persists.
  • The Business Plus plan does not include support for data loss prevention or offline backup providers.

  • Gamification is geared towards adding new users (and thus paid for seats for Sociabble), rather than incentives to promote specific campaigns by existing users.
  • Can’t measure engagement for a particular month/week.
  • I believe that the price can be revised and improved, not taking all the performance out of the software, just analyzing that it is great and that it can have more reach if the price is improved for interested parties with lower conditions.

Slack sitll lacks in functionality. It's better than Skype for Business in many ways, but it is still another chat/message board app. It has limits in free version and paid versions. Also Windows app has errors that bother me, for example, I see number on one of my team's icons. It suggests that one of channels has unread messages; I check all channels - no unread messages, but that "1" still appears

Reliability and Availability
Yes, the app works 24/7. I don't even recall having any period that we could not use since the implementation. Even the maintenance periods are barely noticeable and our work is not impacted by it when it happens.

Performance
Slack is a soft app, we don't have many issues with it. I recall one or two people complaining about something during our usage period, but I didn't have a bad experience. When the app is slow, usually the problem is with my computer or my internet. The app works just fine.

Support Rating
Whenever I've had to troubleshoot an issue with Slack (which, to be honest, has not happened very often), their online documentation has been easy to locate, easy to understand, and effective in resolving my issue. Slack's ever-growing popularity also means that there's a large community of practice out there that can be depended upon.

Alternatives Considered
I like Slack better than ClickUp, because I would spend 30-60 minutes a day updating my ClickUp tasks. The way ClickUp was used was very micromanaging. I billed by the hour, so I was willing to put in the time to alert the boss what tasks I was working on.
One of my jobs used Hive - I mostly just ran it in the background in case anyone messaged me. I did not use it often.

Sociabble is the more premium and customizable version of Smarp. It offers significantly more customization, even if it isn't as 'turnkey' of a solution for a team. I would encourage anyone with a large team (100+ members) or the time/resources to commit to this effort to consider Sociabble, while I'd recommend Smarp for smaller teams or a company that doesn't have the time/bandwidth to dedicate resources to the management of the platform.

Rules can be applied to reward End-Users based on specific actions performed. If the company wants to encourage employees' participation in sharing ideas and UGC, they can associate more points with those types of actions. The Sociabble reward framework highlights initiatives, such as by offering Sociabble Trees where End-Users receive real trees as part of a reforestation project. Custom badges can also be used to reward employees. Sociabble monitors employee engagement with inbuilt analytics, and users can check in with their workforce using custom surveys.Screenshot of Further than top-down gamification and rewards. - Transversal recognition with Praises (Kudos) distribution among the workforce. This helps to break silos in the organization, thanking colleagues for their participation and efforts in the program, etc.
- Bottom-up approach by opening up the platform for user-generated content. This challenges employees to share photos and videos of their participation at trade shows and events. Marketing teams can reuse this content generated on the platform to create campaigns.
