Considered Both Products
Slido
Chose Slido
Slido beats Zoom’s built-in polling by offering more interactive features like live Q&A and detailed polls. It works smoothly with Zoom, making webinars more engaging. I chose Slido because it makes meetings more interactive and allows for better audience participation.

Chose Slido
Kahoot feels more like a kids game and I've used it for fun events, it doesn't feel appropriate for a professional setting or workshop. It also doesn't integrate right into Google slides as a seamless part of the presentation.
Chose Slido
Slido is an easier "out of the box" experience. I would equate Slido to being something a 5th grader could use....as opposed to SurveyMonkey possibly needing a 12th grader. This is not to lighten the experience....it simply means that Slido will be more approachable by a …
Chose Slido
We chose Slido for its real-time engagement, seamless integration, and effective Q&A management, making it ideal for company-wide meetings and training sessions.
Chose Slido
It is easier to use, has better interaction, and has a Q&A platform. Slido has an anonymous Q&A feature which Microsoft doesn't have.
Chose Slido
Because its more cost effective and as well as it has a great user interface which helps better user and software engagement compared to other software. Quite happy with them and the way they have several features in the software. Secondly, it's efficient and reliable compared …
Chose Slido
I was not involved in the selection of Slido. But yes I like it.
Chose Slido
Slido has various upsides when compared to Kahoot or Quizizz. Firstly, Slido offers live video integration so people don't have to switch tabs to interact with us during events or webinars. Secondly, Slido has multiple options like MCQs, rating and ranking for polls which …
Chose Slido
As we already work with Cisco that was a big bonus in our decision. But otherwise Slido presented itself as the best candidate as we were already used to it and provided great value, as well it provided integration with other products we use out of the box. And provided …
Chose Slido
I was familiar with Kahoot in the participant view and was actually very fond of it. When Slido became a part of the Cisco Webex offer, I was thrilled to be in a Win-Win position, since I already was a Cisco Webex user and from that point forward, Slido is my engagement tool!
Chose Slido
Before Slido we used in build functionality and tried to customize something in Miro & Figma. Slido is much easier to use and also the in-build analytics are worth using it.
Chose Slido
The template options Slido offers. It's easy to use, and very user-friendly You can display live responses. You can interact real-time through Slido.
Chose Slido
Monday did not have the option to do surveys in real time and combine the results live.
Chose Slido
It's as simple as just Microsoft Word Visual Basic. We used to use that. Just a lot more cumbersome with the program and setup. Can be buggy depending on the browser operating system that you're running it on. Nothing specific for surveys. This was the first one we got that's …
Chose Slido
I think it is the only tool that supports Slovenian language. Slido is working so well, we didn't really consider using other tools, but I see them used in similar scenarios.
Chose Slido
Slido's interface is much better than Kahoot's. The application is lighter and much more intuitive.
Chose Slido
I haven't evaluated other competitors, as I have seen Slido in action at an event and I was immediately hooked. That being said, I should bee looking at Slido's competitors, just to do my due diligence and ensure I'm familiar with the market landscape. I'm satisfied so far with …
Chose Slido
Zoom's polling is super basic and very limited. it gives you the ability to run polls but lacks the dynamic nature of Slido where we can run contests, word clouds, and different types of polls. Also, zoom's design is very basic and looks like what it is: in-meeting polling. …
Chose Slido
Kahoot! is a bit more fun but doesn't give you the detailed integration I get with Slido. The Slido data after the event is also much richer and more detailed.
Chose Slido
We choose Slido over the internal Q&A in the web conferencing we use because of its flexibility. Teams Live is a good example where you need to give moderators Producer rights to the whole event to be able see questions. This can give a wide range of people access to controls …
Chose Slido
Simple interface, easy to customise and share questions
Chose Slido
Slido does everything as well as or better than alternatives.

We may make the switch to Zoom at some point because their new events product is very nice. And the brand recognition of Zoom is helpful for adoption as well. But we stay with Webex Events for now because we are a bit all in on it as it's where we run all of our events.
Chose Webex Events (formerly Socio)
The Webinar experience from Zoom to Webex Events is a night and day difference. With Zoom our team would experience glitching and delays in audio/video, whereas with Webex Events, we would not. The only delay would be in the chat, as it would need time to catch up by a few …

Webex Events stood out because of the feature allowing for easy sign-on with Google accounts. Our schools use Google accounts for staff email, so this made registration and app access fairly easy. We received very few messages requesting assistance with registration or app …

Webex Events (Socio) is more conducive to larger meetings and networking. Guidebook served its purpose when our convention was on a smaller scale, and we didn't need additional functionality. Now that we have grown to a 1,000+ meetings, we need to have those additional features …

Socio was the most affordable, has a great team, and they're super easy-to-use. It's a comprehensive tool with a ton of capabilities, but we didn't feel like we were overpaying for a ton of bells and whistles that we wouldn't use.

I have had an opportunity to use BlueJeans Meetings before we switched to Webex Events. The main difference that I have discovered is that Webex Events has more conferencing features and less costly as compared to others. It has modern features that helps the user in preparing …

We have used multiple virtual event platforms in the past, as well as trialed several. We ultimately decided on Webex due to the aesthetics of the website, the incredibly easy build-out process, the 24/5 support, the user-friendly front-end interface, the multiple ways to …
Chose Webex Events (formerly Socio)
Functionality and the ability for people that may not be very tech-savvy to use it was very important and Socio was that platform for my organization and what we needed.
Chose Webex Events (formerly Socio)
It was a close call, but the deciding factor was the unmatched support we got with Socio. At Hopin, we would have to pay thousands extra to have support from their team (with building the site, external and internal questions, linking registration, etc). With Socio, we had …
Chose Webex Events (formerly Socio)
By far, Socio offered the greatest value... functionality compared to cost. It was a no brainer! Socio also won the day with customizable and pre-assigned schedules, which save our attendees quite a bit of time! We also appreciated the opportunity to upgrade to the white label …

I was not the one who decided to use Socio but we have used another provider last year which was no where near as good. I am not sure who it was, I'm sorry!
Chose Webex Events (formerly Socio)
Socio was the only one who was able to meet its promise to connect to our website and perform as hoped. Their customer service far surpasses the others but they also were price competitive.
Chose Webex Events (formerly Socio)
We didn't consider any other platforms. Once I came across Socio I knew it was the perfect fit for our event's goals. We had a very short time frame for getting our virtual event set up and the Socio team jumped right in and was SO helpful at getting us up and launched in two …

It’s particularly suitable for large meetings and town halls, where it can run live polls and make the meeting more interactive. For less formal scenarios, such as small meetings and quick calls, or when the public is not particularly tech-savvy. All in all, it’s a great tool that can fit in a bunch of scenarios.

I think it would work for:
  • Workshops with many people.
  • Quarterly's meetings with people all around the world.
  • If you want to create a digital training with lots of participants...
I feel like it's not as needed in videocalls that can be fixed with webex teams because of the number of participants or at events that need a more personal approach where you need everyone constantly interacting.

Pros
  • Slido integrates well with Microsoft PowerPoint which is very much useful for us.
  • The post poll dashboard reports are very much insightful.
  • Shareable links are created easily with Slido. Also, this saves a lot of time and manual effort for us.

  • It has quite a few optional and customizable features that can be utilized.
  • It's easy to integrate your existing tools like Zoom, YouTube, Vimeo, and streaming services.
  • It's flexible in the way that you upload content in that you can enter things one at a time on the website, or use a spreadsheet to upload a larger amount of content.

Cons
  • I miss the Slack integration; they used to have this and they deprecated it in the last year or so.
  • I believe they have a nice integration for PowerPoint, would be nice if they had something similar with google slides since that is what we typically use internally.
  • We use the word cloud feature often and sometimes answers seem to get lost (as in don't show up at all) on the screen. for example, an answer will be there, then as more answers come in it disappears, and when we get to a certain threshold of answers it somehow pops back up again. It's not the worst but sometimes someone will ping me that their submission didn't make the word cloud and they're bummed.

  • The standard template to build out the community is pretty rigid. We had to adjust some of our styling and graphics to account for what Socio's template allowed.
  • Inability for event admins to make account changes for users. Several times we had users change jobs, therefore, changing their emails. Each time, we had to go through Socio support to get them access to their account.
  • Documentation and knowledgebase could be more substantive.

Of course something could happen to our orgs ability to put on a conference or Socio could fundamentally change their product or their customer service - but barring any magor shift there is nothing that is even close to competing for our attention here.

Usability
The one reason I choose a tool for my workshop over other tools is their usability. I need a tool that my audience will be able to use adequately very rapidly. The learning curve has to be very steep. I never have the time to "train" my client on a new tool. They are always in a rush and there should not be anytime wasted in learning how to use a new tool. Slido provides me with great functionalities that are easyly learned in a live environment , be it virtual or in a face to face situation.

Some Android users could not get the app to work, so they had to use the web-based version of our conference guide. Most functionality was still there, but they could not pull up the QR code, which impeded the registration process. The presence of the log in with Apple ID button caused issues because most work emails were not attached to Apple ID, which caused access issues.

Support Rating
I had to use the support for this tool only once. The response was very rapid, very professional and fulfilled my needs immediately. Online support services are sometimes advertised only to lure people into buying the product but and non-existent or difficult to use afterwards. Not with Slido. This was not an automated chatbot and the direct contact really helped me

Socio (now WebexEvents) is one of two products I use that gets customer service right. Not only can you get an answer from an actual person quickly during business hours - but if you are asking after hours, you know the response will be waiting for you in the morning. Not only are they fast, but they are also smart about their products and customers. There is very little back and forth trying to explain the problem I am having, or the new way I am trying to use their product, that may even be novel for them.

Online Training
I find that training is very informative as it helps understanding the software usages and implementation. It gives the usgaes area and how to create gamification and live Q&A section so that you can use in live team meetings and workshops. It is very useful in training and webinars where a large pool of people are there.

Alternatives Considered
The real-time polling and Q&A features are seamless.
Participants can ask questions and vote on them, allowing for dynamic
interaction during presentations. Plus, Slido integrates well with popular presentation tools like
PowerPoint and Google Slides, and the Interface is awesome for both me as a host and for my participants to navigate.
