Unmetric was a SaaS platform for intelligence on an organization's social media efforts and the efforts of their competitors on social media. It provided data across Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, Pinterest and LinkedIn. Its capabilities are now supplied by Brandwatch.
Quintly works well when you need to measure and analyze a number of accounts on different channels. It's well suited for broad analysis and insights of numerous organizations. It falls a bit in terms of the user interface, which could use more polish. For the price, it's a great tool. It sits in the middle of the pack
Unmetric is very well suited for social tracking. One thing to keep in mind is that you cannot view previous content when adding a new brand to your watch list.
Basically, apart from interaction rate all other KPIs are basic. Also what bothers us is that it doesn't include paid post KPIs. This is one point where SocialBakers performs very well.
Secondly, the swap system is something that is a little tiresome. Often you lose track of it and somehow end up missing on profile and analysis.
Would love to see more KPIs and recommendations for paid post promotion etc.
The interface is slightly different for each social channel, which is confusing for novice users. I wish they'd standardize their naming schemes and dashboards, to the extent they can be with the different platforms.
They'll add and implement new features but won't tell you- I came back into the platform to discover they'd applied a weighting scheme to my engagement rate that messed up my findings.
Sometimes the platform just stops working.
Support sits in India so there's no way to get answers fast if you have a question or issue.
I think it's important for everyone to share the reviews of the tools they use as it can not just help other people to save time and money but also can help making an informed decision on which tool should be used for what and which is the best tool in the market to solve any given problem
Quintly was a short-term solution for us. For a mid-level price, you can analyze a large number of accounts fairly quickly. You can't analyze individual posts, which was a major flaw. If you're looking to analyze trends in your posts and A/B splits, this tool won't be terribly effective. If you're looking to measure the overall direction of an account for an affordable price, this works great. It's not Radian 6. It's not Simply Measured. But it also costs a lot less.
I haven't used Simply Measured in a few years, mostly because it was just too expensive for what we needed it for and Unmetric provided what we needed at a reasonable price. I also had an issue with how big the Simply Measured files were- they often froze analysts' computers, and the first task was to delete unused tabs to reduce the file size.
I haven't traced our use of this platform back to ROI specifically, but the data it provides is key to our strategic client work and clients are pleased with the level of detail and rigor we are able to provide.
