Expand your CR/Sustainability reach with 3BL!

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

As a CR communications specialist, I use 3BL to push out blog posts, social media graphics, videos, press releases, and other communications assets to our stakeholders. We don't see a ton of traffic on our own sites from sharing these assets and 3BL Media helps us seriously increase our reach to target audiences. We use it ~4 times per month and it's been very effective in getting our brand and CR program featured in Reuters, Yahoo Finance, and reaching our key stakeholders.

Pros

  • Reach - incredible distribution network which helps us build our brand and reputation
  • Ease of use - we have a really great contact (Travis) who makes the process incredibly easy for us so that we can focus on actually doing the CR work!
  • Establishing thought leadership - having a repository of years of content has been helpful in showcasing our leadership and promoting this thought leadership to peers, industry associations when applying to speak, award submissions, etc.

Likelihood to Recommend

I would (and do) recommend 3BL Professional to any company/org trying to expand the reach of it's CR programs. Often communications is how we justify the budget for our program work (communications help us increase brand reputation, reach potential employees, reach investors and ESG analysts). The 3BL platform is an incredible way to get your impacts and initiatives out to the world so that people know about the incredible programs you're running. Would recommend for any CR/ESG/Sustainability team.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use 3BL Professional to source newsworthy stories and strategically share current social impact projects across our company and brands. We also use 3BL to create a campaign for our annual Social Impact Review.

Pros

  • sourcing and amplifying relevant content across a large network
  • critically assessing current industry trends and determining the best plan for our campaigns and content
  • professionally managing out content, drafting mock-ups and promoting articles in a timely manner

Cons

  • login portal can be a bit difficult to navigate at times

Likelihood to Recommend

3Bl has been really useful in helping us create campaigns around larger signature programming like our social impact-focused employee recognition program and our annual reporting. It has also been a great tool to amplify smaller partnerships we have with organizations and secure our company's standing within the social impact sector. Lastly, 3BL has provided an excellent opportunity for our employees (including our interns) to write and publish social impact stories on behalf of our company.

Pros

  • Proactively suggests content
  • Extremely fast response time
  • Maintains exhaustive publishing calendar

Cons

  • Could use detailed description of difference between page views and impressions and how these are differently experienced by people who could see the content on various channels
  • It would help to know a ballpark figure of impressions served up by Reuters, AP and other services that pickup 3BL content
  • It would help if quarterly reporting could track with our fiscal year quarters instead of calendar year quarters

Likelihood to Recommend

It's been great to have 3BL parse out stories from the various reports out company publishes. This repurposing of content is super helpful.

Media Expertise at the Intersection of Sustainability and Business

3BL is used heavily by our Comms department. We have such fabulous, inspiring stories, but have had trouble finding appropriate audiences and getting them out. We do not have that PR expertise in-house so it has been a game changer to work with 3BL Media to help.

Pros

  • Connection to Media outlets in the business/sustainability space.
  • Excellent events.
  • Calls to action.

Cons

  • Would love to see increased opportunities for engagement.
  • Increase connection to those working on similar items.

Likelihood to Recommend

They have over 250K email subscribers and 350K social media followers. The great thing about that group is that it is a curated group of folks who are specifically interested in the intersection of business and sustainability. The events they put on are excellent and well attended so do recommend considering sponsorship.
