  • Allows users to communicate via text message.
  • Allows users to have meetings.

Cons

  • Help center in the U.S.

Likelihood to Recommend

8x8 Work is the only VoIP phone system we have used. I do not have another system to compare it to. I think it is a fantastic system.

Use 8x8 Work for remote working

Rating: 10 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I use 8x8 Work for my main phoneline. The app works on my mobile and allows me to work anywhere using a London number. I used the app on my Thai phone (Samsung) while working remote in Thailand for 2 years - without any issues. I was even able to set it up from outside the UK and deal with my UK clients from there. The cost was really low and it only took a few hours to provision a number.

Pros

  • Mobile Voip
  • Fast set-up
  • customer service from people not just bots
  • simple to learn message retrieval
  • Low pricepoint
  • fair late-payment procedure (don't cut you off)

Cons

  • It provides everything I need
  • Maybe it could be cheaper

Likelihood to Recommend

1. Good for remote working, the set-up is very easy and the calls always come through. If the mobile is off the calls go through to voicemail.
2. I would recommend for start up situations as the set up process is easy and quick. The contract is for a year which is fine considering that the £12/month fee covers all your calls as well. I've never had to pay more than the standard £12, ok once £14 (I probably made an international call)

Accomplish more than you expect for a lot less money with 8x8 Work

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use it for our main phone system, IVR (auto attendant), as well as several extensions, fax management, meetings (dont like zoom), and some SMS. without 8x8 Work our calls would just come in without being filtered and not to the correct person we also map calls differently based on schedules, day and time. this allows us to be efficient and professional. We now have a presences that gives us legitimacy. They have the ability to provide very complex workflows for the phone system, all included for the rate, unlike others which you pay for every feature. Great for the small business and robust enough to handle large contact centers. Their customer support was very helpful when we needed them. Once up and running we've never had an issue with their servers, phone audio smooth and full, calls never drop. Great value for the cost, they have different packages that have unlimited long distance to a selection of countries. you can have different packages for different phone lines, which is great as we have some lines that need Asian countries and others just Canada and US which reduces costs.

Pros

  • Routing calls, hold music and/or ads
  • good pricing
  • integrate with CRM

Cons

  • better compatibility with phones, had a bunch of Yealink and couldnt use them. Id like to use them now if they became compatible.
  • more billing options payment methods, like e-transfer etc.
  • easier to use interface, just entering the control panel or billing area (which are separate) can be confusing.

Likelihood to Recommend

works good for remote workers, I also find it convenient as a owner on the go, I am able to access everything even when traveling. though it can be integrated into CRM would be a 1000 times better if it would have native integration with Odoo which is the ERP we use. also used by millions of other users. other companies have built in connectors with Odoo. Odoo has a full VOIP, which uses a service such as 8x8 Work.

8x8 Work is great for small businesses

Rating: 9 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use 8x8 Work for our church staff of 16 people. The biggest issue it addresses is being able to use our personal cell phones in addition to office phones and computers. It simplifies our daily use of phones, both for calls and messaging. It allows us to be away for our desk and computers and still be able to communicate within our staff and outside of our staff. Most of our staff (excluding our receptionist) use the app for probably about 80% of calls.

Pros

  • Messaging
  • Easy to indicate different status - away, vacation
  • Being able to set work hours

Cons

  • Could be easier to record and choose different greetings
  • With messaging, I seem to always need to add a contact before sending a message. Would be easier if I could just send a message.

Likelihood to Recommend

Very well-suited for small business as it's fairly simple and cost effective. Well-suited for businesses that want multiple options (app, desk phone, computer) for phone/messaging. Well-suited for businesses who want something different than traditional phones.

Probably isn't the best for a big company that would want more features. Although there may be additional features for larger organizations.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We are an insurance agency. The product addresses organizational issues and communication. We share files between one another and the feature to look up shared documents makes it easy to go back and bring up conversations we had. When we are late to the office, we can answer calls on our cellphone, so we don't miss any.

Pros

  • Messaging
  • Search Documents
  • Group Messaging
  • File Sharing

Cons

  • Call Quality
  • Customer Support Responsiveness
  • User Interface

The messaging feature and file share accessibility makes it easy to communicate with coworkers. The app is user friendly on mobile phones making it fun to use. We don't need to download extra app or create additional accounts to video conference. The voicemail feature gives a peace of mind that no message will go unreceived.

I use 8x8 Work as my softphone. It is a practical and affordable solution for a VOIP system for my insurance agency.

Pros

  • Support
  • Phone interface

Cons

  • Perhaps a built in chat feature on the softphone interface

Likelihood to Recommend

I think 8x8 Work is well suited for a 1 person small business. There is a little bit of a leaning curve as to all the features and accessing support.

Great Experience

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use 8x8 Work for our incoming calls. Since we receive many calls daily we are able to track them down and get back to our customers in case they don't leave a voicemail. The technology allows us to link our phone system with our computers providing a more efficient customer service. We also use the fax feature which keeps a history.

Pros

  • It marks the missing calls
  • keeps history
  • links into our phone system

Cons

  • free feature for text messages. (Not free anymore)

Likelihood to Recommend

During covid it was very helpful to track the amount of phone calls we recieved daily. With the features 8X8 has it made it very easy to reply to our customers and installers remotely. It was very helpful during that time to the point where we made some changes to what at the time was not implemented.
