Business Problems Solved
Users rely on afi.ai to securely back up their Microsoft 365 ExchangeOnline, SharePoint Online, and Teams data for their entire organization, ensuring a reliable copy of all important information and communications. This is particularly valuable during the COVID-19 pandemic and remote work scenarios as it helps mitigate user errors and reduces the burden on the helpdesk team. IT teams have administrative access to manage backups and execute restores, while regular Office 365 users can recover their own data through the afi self-service portal. The software also supports backup and automation of G Suite Team Drives and Drives across the organization, with customizable frequency and retention settings.
afi.ai is highly appreciated for its ease of use, efficiency, and fast data recovery capabilities. The self-service feature empowers end-users to independently handle basic restore and data download operations. The search functionality within the platform is particularly helpful in quickly locating specific documents. Users who switched from local systems to afi.ai note that it offers faster performance and stronger security measures compared to traditional on-premises solutions. Additionally, organizations value the ability of afi.ai to backup and archive deleted Microsoft 365 users, providing a reliable solution for data recovery after an employee departure. This not only saves time for the help desk team but also provides an additional layer of protection against ransomware attacks and hardware failures.

We use afi.ai for several departments here in the U.S.--mostly to protect the most important SharePoint data. The tool is quite easy to use and very efficient; recovering several documents takes literally a few seconds. Search is a really good help when you try to find some specific document.
Pros
SharePoint sites backup and recovery
Anti-ransomware feature
Reporting in MS Teams is neat
Cons
It would be handy to have SharePoint file versions comparisons in the UI
Email alerts on settings changes would be good to have too.
Likelihood to Recommend
SharePoint online backup for data protection with a self service option and anti-ransomware. afi.ai works great, as all data is protected including MS Lists that you can even preview in the backup tool without restoring. Reporting is very good and transparent; you can integrate it with MS Teams for immediate notifications. Data archiving is included at no additional cost.

Switched to cloud to cloud backup a little more than a year ago. We used on-prem DC and local vendors, like Veritas and Veeam to backup M365. Before the switch we tested more than 5 solutions, and found most of them very slow and lacking on the security side of things, especially bring your own encryption functionality is very rare. With Afi the POC was very smooth and we decided to give it a go. Works like a charm for 1+ years now for 15k+ users.
Pros
Security
Ransomware protection
Data recovery
Monitoring integrations
Cons
Documentation
Multi-region data storage
Likelihood to Recommend
Backup and recovery are reliable and fast. We run automatic tests using API, and we had 0 failed recoveries for far.
Self-recovery options for employees
Data archiving works great and can be automated ( revoke a license in M365, the user gets automatically archived in

We are using afi.ai to backup and archive deleted Microsoft 365 users. When an employee leaves the company we backup [their] OneDrive and Exchange mailbox data, and then we can delete the user account from Microsoft 365 domain. In case we need to recover data after an employee departure we use afi backups.
Pros
Archiving of deleted Microsoft 365 users.
Backup of SharePoint lists and OneNote books.
Fast offline export of a mailbox and SharePoint items.
Cons
We'd like to use Onelogin as SSO.
Likelihood to Recommend
Great for archiving of deleted SharePoint online sites and off-boarded Microsoft 365 users; unlimited number of on-demand backup runs that can be triggered in the application by system administrators.
We use afi.ai to back up Microsoft 365 ExchangeOnline, SharePoint Online, and Teams for the whole organization. With COVID-19 and working from home, it became absolutely critical for us to have a secure copy of all data and all communications, as user errors increase tenfold and the number of requests to recover/move data overwhelmed our helpdesk team.
Pros
Exchange Online, SharePoint Online and MS teams data backup and recovery
Granular ACL
Self-service recovery for end users
Cons
Reporting API could be improved
Data center in the UK to be post-Brexit proof would be good (which, as I understand, is planned)
Likelihood to Recommend
The ease of use, and strength of Microsoft 365's workload backup are the strongest sides of the service. We looked at a few vendors providing Microsoft 365 backup and afi.ai was one of the best in terms of deep technological support for SharePoint and Teams.
1. We use it to protect all data in Microsoft 365 2. We enabled self-service for end users to perform data recovery, a huge relief for the helpdesk team 3. It also allows us to archive departed employees mailboxes and files

Regular Office 365 users have access to afi self-service portal that enables them to recover their own data without having to ask the IT guys.
Pros
Data recovery process is very fast.
Offline data export starts immediately, without export link generation & etc.
Self-service for end-users saves a lot of Helpdesk time..

Ransomware protection.
Nice and easy UI.
Super fast.
Cons
MS planner and project support is needed.

We use afi.ai to backup G Suite Team Drives and Drives in all user accounts across our whole organization. The backups are automated and we can set frequency & retention time by Org Unit. Restore is done either by our IT team or by the end- users via afi.ai self-service portal.
Pros
G Suite Team Drives backup.
Searching for G Suite items.
Exports of drive files offline.
Cons
Add support and cross-restore to Office 365.
Likelihood to Recommend
It can be used to backup G Suite domains to the cloud, the cloud storage and the whole service are managed by afi.ai, you only need to set the protection policies and monitor the backup statuses once in a while. We did not have any issues with backups and restores. Search and browsing also work reasonably fast.
