Aperture Education

Aperture Education is an enterprise focused on addressing the whole child. Its social and emotional learning (SEL) solution, is based on the Devereux Student Strengths Assessment (DESSA), a standardized, strengths-based measure of critical social and emotional skills such as personal responsibility, self-management, relationship skills and healthy decision-making.

The Aperture Education System includes:

• DESSA Aperture System - Aperture Education is a provider of solutions that identify student strengths, promote well-being, and improve academic outcomes. This serves as the foundation for transforming student learning.
• DESSA Student Self-Report - A solution to capture student voice and drive student agency with the DESSA Middle and High School Student Self-Reports. When students feel their opinions and choices matter, they are more likely to be invested in their learning.
• Strategies and Interventions - Move directly from assessment results to actionable student support. Leverages the MTSS framework, the Strategies and Interventions Package completes the loop for a comprehensive skill-building system.
• Aperture Academy - Offers 4 different approaches to help educators and staff learn how to use the Aperture System, whether it's interactive courses, webinars, videos, or resource libraries. These interactive courses offer more than just system training. Educators and staff will learn how to promote student agency, consider opportunities for student voice and choice, and understand how to support students using a strength-based approach.
