We use it as an ATS to track applicants, candidates, employees, and client activity. It streamlines processes with everything in one place. There are many integrated vendor partners that can add to the tech stack based on individual company needs. We also use it for payroll processing for contract workers and internal employees, as well.
Pros
Tracks applicant activity on open job orders.
Provides recruiting analytics.
All in one software system.
Cons
Support Center needs to be updated...a lot of links that go to pages that are no longer available, and the ability to find things when entering key words to search on. It is very hard to find answers when searching.
Hire dates and rate change functionality.
Reports need a serious makeover and be tailored to pull information related to the report you're running, and not have to export and format every report we run.

Very good for applicant/candidate/job activity tracking. It could use improvement in the area of Customer Relationship Management. It does not have a robust CRM function, which would be very beneficial to have encompassed in the ATS system so everything is in one place.

As a recruiting agency with a diverse client base, we use Avionté as a tracking system and database for our candidates, clients, and job requisitions. We are able to track candidates through a job pipeline, log all of our activities and communication with applicants and clients, and integrate with other applications such as Outlook email sync. My favorite feature is "tearsheets," which are customizable rollup lists of candidates.
Pros
Applicant pipelining and tracking
Storage and organization
Customizability for adding new options such as new pipeline stages, new activity types, etc.
Outlook integration - tracks our email communication with candidates automatically.
Cons
Downtime. Avionté frequently has outages and often our entire organization is affected.
Echo tool - Avionté's Chrome extension is slow, resets itself often, and causes memory leaks on Google Chrome.
No way to send alerts for job closure. We can set Avionté to trigger a notification to the entire organization when we open a new job, but there is no equivalent for when we close a job.
Avionté does not offer an easy, at-a-glance way to view details profiles that are presumed duplicates of other profiles--you have to manually open every presumed duplicate profile. I wish it showed a quick preview that included the candidate's location and job title and other pertinent details to help ID duplicates.

Avionté is a wonderful tool for recruiting agencies. It's highly customizable and does everything I need it to do as a full-cycle recruiter. It has a massive database capacity--we transferred 20 years' worth of data into Avionte--and appears to do well by our sales/account management team as well.
Avionte provided us a one-stop shop for entering clients and entering the temp staff to work orders and then the ability to invoice and send statements to the clients' accounts. It allowed for cash posting all within the same system which makes it very ideal for reporting and the uploading was never inaccurate. It is very user-friendly but on the basic side. You do have to understand how is basic accounting and that you have to be mindful of how it reads. Overall very easy and supplied everything you would need in the staffing world. There was nothing that we noticed missing except in the accounting world the view is a little more basic but you can make it what you need. The customer service is very helpful.
Pros
Work orders based on worksite
Placing candidates
Invoicing
Payroll flexibility
Cons
Accounting side
Report View of payments in full not most recent payment

Avionte is well suited to get statements out to a client, to edit or correct invoicing. It is very staffing world-specific which is very complex and they make it user-friendly across the board in these scenarios. Overall is easy to follow within Avionte. It doesn't recognize all the complexities of accounting and should open its view more but it is moldable and the basics are there.
Compas is currently being used in our three branches. The company has been growing really quick lately and keeping up with the employee history was becoming an issue. With the expected rotation at our clients locations, Compas has become our go-to tool to make sure we keep track of every action and situation that happens with our employees, Compas also has some good add-ons that allow us to integrate its features to Google Chrome and makes it easier to track email and adding all the pertinent info into the employees history.
Pros
The Google Chrome integration allows to have total control over the communications and sends the registry to Compas immediately. Also allows sending Google mail directly from the Compas app.
Allows to keep track of the whole work history and experience of each one of the employees, start dates, interviews, pay rates and termination reasons, as well as to send mass emails and text messages to employees.
It's fully customizable if you need to add a specific feature their support and is responsive and allows the intended customization.
It is a great reporting tool. You can track the performance and activities of your recruiters, make sure they are doing the pertinent contacts and follow-ups and complete their assigned tasks, also allows pulling reports on employees placed on assignment.
Cons
It doesn't allow for much control on changes that are done. All employees have access to modify other employees information, it has an audit trail and would show who made the changes and what the previous information was even if these are easily fixed situations. It has led to confusion with the misuse of some of the employees in our company.
It should have better integration with more payroll systems. They are currently offering some integration but it is not possible to fully integrate unless the payroll system is part of the compatible ones.
When a candidate applies from Indeed or any other job search engine, their resume tend to be modified and some dates get into the wrong places, so their parsing system should get some improvement, or at least allow to update the file that has been uploaded.
Likelihood to Recommend
Compas is the perfect tool to track and post jobs, also a great tool to track and follow up on candidates. It is also a great way of getting metrics for the recruiter's performance. It has to improve their payroll tools and integration. It is hard to follow up on markups and pay rates.
Compas is being used as our ATS at Rdio. HR and hiring managers are the only people who have access to the system. Compass helps us organize and track our applications so we can attract top talent and grow our company.
Pros
Integration with Gmail really helps us track messages between candidates and keep tabs of all our pipelines.
The resume parsing feature is really great and does a pretty accurate job of pulling the data from candidate resumes so that uploading new applicants is quick and easy.
The offer letter approval process feature that is built in is a great way for us to systemize the approval of offers and make sure it funnels into the appropriate channels.
Cons
If candidates submit a cover letter, it is only accessible through the "docs" tab. Or if they are nominated to the Hiring Manager and then the attachments come through. Other than that, there is no easy way to tell if a candidate has submitted a cover letter other than manually opening each candidate profile up. It would be nice if Hiring Managers could see if there is a cover letter attachment in the pipeline overview.
Emails aren't syncing properly from Gmail. I wish that once we sent a candidate a Gmail from Compass that all subsequent threads/ replies would be tracked in Compass so it would be all in on place.. easy to reference.
You can't move applicants from pipeline to the nominated status. It would be nice if there was most flexibility between moving candidates from pipeline to pipeline and to the nominated status.
Likelihood to Recommend
Compas is more appropriate for internal recruiting teams than outside agencies. It has an easy way to share applicants with hiring managers. The internal offer letter approval feature is helpful in pushing an offer through the appropriate channels.
