Automated testing using any technology

Rating: 9 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use BrowserStack mainly to run our Playwright-based web UI automation tests written in TypeScript. It helps us validate our app on multiple browsers and OS versions without needing to set up any local infrastructure. Our tests are integrated with CI, so whenever someone raises a PR, the Playwright scripts run on BrowserStack's cloud grid. This gives us quick feedback on any browser-specific issues. Earlier we used to test only on Chrome locally, but now we cover Safari, Edge, and Firefox too and this really improved our overall test coverage and reduced production issues.

Pros

  • Makes cross-browser testing easy and reliable
  • Allows testing on real devices without physical setup

Cons

  • Debugging dynamic content sometimes tricky
  • Test sessions can be slow in the starting

Likelihood to Recommend

BrowserStack works really well when you need to test your web app across multiple browsers and devices, especially during regression or before a release. We use it a lot for Playwright automation in CI, also we run our automation script every time new we push new changes in the production environment.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I use BrowserStack in my organization to check the UI of the different websites on different OS and smartphones like iPhone/Android, Macbook, and Windows different browsers. The use case is how the website UI will appear on various OS, Screen Resolutions, and Devices. It helps to identify the problems with UI and the Functionality of the website. UI testing Unit testing is the primary key use of BrowserStack.

Pros

  • UI testing on different Devices like iOS, Android, MacOS, and Windows OS.
  • Automation testing with the help of Cypress gives automation access to different OS and devices.
  • Comparison with two devices how UI will look a like.
  • Bug Capture tool: Using this tool, a user can capture a bug while live recording it, and the tool captures action as well. This helps developers identify and fix the bug more easily.

Cons

  • Sometimes when there are too many users access it it lags a lot.
  • Whenever new OS version comes, the update came little bit late on BrowserStack.
  • It should capture device internal sound as well while recording the bug.

Likelihood to Recommend

Suppose, we have to test a website named XYZ on different types of devices how it will look, like the example, we have to check how a website will look on iOS v18 and v17 with other iPhone models like iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Pro, and iPhone 14 Pro Max now, we don't have these physical devices at the point BrowserStack comes to the picture and solve our problems with lots of devices on the dashboard which are physical but virtually available to it's users.

The Best Tool for Executing Mobile Automated Tests (Device Farm)

Rating: 10 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

BrowserStack manages to bring everything good, currently in an application, to execute mobile automated tests. The usage is very intuitive and it offers many integrations. Currently, we use it for numerous work fronts, both iOS and Android, and it serves us very well.

Pros

  • Automated Mobile Testing
  • Cross Browser Testing

Cons

  • Visual Regression

Likelihood to Recommend

We needed a device farm to run our app regression tests, and BrowserStack suited us very well. Currently, the benefits brought by using BrowserStack are due to having multiple devices available. This allows us to perform extensive testing across various devices and different operating systems.

But is more expensive than others Device Farms.

BrowserStack - Much Needed Testing Tool for Website Launch

Rating: 9 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

When we launch any website we first do any devices testing in BrowserStack & it will give us user perpective thats its looking fine or not (specially in iphone & ipads) as its costly to purchase each one of devices, By providing most of devices & browsers with different versions can similify our job to launch any website with device & browsers testing.

Pros

  • DIfferent Iphones related testing as most people using iphone
  • Safari browser related testing as most people have safari default browser
  • if any preview not looking good we can check code via inspect element which easy way for developer to understand which css causing issue or missing out

Cons

  • BrowserStack some devices take time to load, it should be more faster
  • 1 feature should be inbuild - show website speed - website loading time in BrowserStack it will help to understand how fast or slow its working
  • allow atleast 2 users same time can test in BrowserStack basic plan, because as team we need to do testing but in basic plan only 1 person can do testing at a time

Likelihood to Recommend

I think for website launch its much needed tool for testing as its cover most of things & give us most of options like inspect elements & browser version which help to solve issue quickly , I am not sure about where its less appropirate.

Great solution even if you're non-techy

Rating: 9 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I build my own funnels, website, landing pages etc. So I use BrowserStack to ensure consistency of UI on a platform agnostic basis. Particularly as it relates to mobile devices. Before I came to using this tool, I would get feedback about glitchy issues that I was oblivious to. This tool helps me ensure consistency of customer/user experience and elevates my professionalism.

Pros

  • Ability to flick through different device options in one interface
  • Exhaustive and constantly updated options, to keep with new product releases
  • Ability for a non-tech person (such as myself) to navigate the platform with ease

Cons

  • Limited scope for testing on free version
  • A low fee option (with limited functionality commensurate with price) would be great for non-tech people who need this infrequently as opposed to the needs of power users.

Likelihood to Recommend

It's the most simple tool to fill the gap that I identified when building out my tech platform. I recommend it to others like me, who are daunted by complexity and want a simple, point and shoot solution.
