What is Clonezilla?
Clonezilla is free and open source software for disk imaging and cloning, under the GNU General Public License (GPL) Version 2. Three types of Clonezilla are available, Clonezilla live, Clonezilla lite server, and Clonezilla SE (server edition). Clonezilla live is suitable for single machine backup and restore, and Clonezilla lite server or SE is for massive deployment, and can clone 40 plus computers simultaneously.

Imaging of Systems - at a very desirable price!
Use Cases and Deployment Scope
We have a requirement to image a very large number of systems (both laptops and desktops) which cover many different hardware brands, specifications, operating systems, etc. CloneZIlla allows us to image many different systems at the same time, at a very affordable (free!) cost.
We are also able to build out image sets and push them to other locations to assist with provisioning systems in different areas and states.

Pros
- The ability to quickly setup imaging servers to rapidly increase the number of systems imaged.
- Handling large numbers of device imaging off a single live server instance
- Ability to run the server side of things on low end hardware
Cons
- The interface is not easy to navigate or understand by non technical staff
- Many many key presses before an actual image starts processing
- Does not feel "clean" - in that it feels very batch driven rather than having a more simpler way of managing the process end to end.
Return on Investment
- CloneZilla provides us a very cheap solution for imaging of systems in our business
- It has allowed us to rapidly increase our ability to image more systems across multiple locations
- CloneZilla has allowed us to adapt and evolve our imaging environment to handle lots of different scenarios with little issues
