Our organisation provides consulting in safety management systems for air operation. Proactive aviation safety is done, among other things, by using Threat and Error Management or TEM. The concept is to try to list the potential threats and errors and to think of processes to mitigate them. We were doing that during brain storming sessions with the crew members and operational personnel of our customers. ConceptDraw MINDMAP was the instrument used to collect and organise the inputs from the participants.
Pros
It's easy to represent graphically topics , subtopics and their relations.
Exporting the MindMap in various format is just a few clicks away.
The templates provide help starting to discover the various use and presentations available.
Cons
Having a ConceptDraw Mindmap app running on the iPad would be fantastic.

Organising results of brainstorming session for threat and error management solutions is how we mostly use ConceptDraw MINDMAP. Another common use is for dynamic note taking while attending conferences or classes. It can also be used to prepare notes when giving classes. We also used it sometimes for accident investigation analysis, building diagrams of probable causes leading to the event.
MINDMAP allows our company to engage colleagues from many locations and enable them to share ideas, understand project progress, propose solutions to problems and visually lay out thoughts, concepts, ideas etc
Pros
sharing ideas
working on project concepts
understanding processes
Cons
Limited drawing tools with the free version
initially seemed a bit fiddly to navigate
the interface was a bit 'busy'

It compares well to other tools when you want to do a 'brain dump' or set things out in a logical order to show a potential process and have people comment and insert their own ideas.
ConceptDraw MINDMAP is useful for our product creation, roadmap, releases and management. The product managers and project managers had have been using it in my organization to brainstorm ideas and gather information to frame the product line. The attributes created from various aspects of the product can be connected and visualized to any user who are new to the concept.
The other beauty of the ConceptDraw MINDMAP is to organize the project tasks. Once we put all the related tasks, with a click, we can view all the project tasks in ConceptDraw Project. We just need to assign dates and members.
The business problem addressed by MINDMAP was organizing the bits and pieces of information and make the idea as product with its neatly provided diagrammatic approach. We are very fond of ConceptDraw MINDMAP and project, which saves lots of our time in managing tasks and maintaining for further work. The export options are also decent in terms of PDF and image formats.
Pros
For an idea, put whatever comes to your mind and organize with ConceptDraw MINDMAP.
Easily create slideshows for a business presentation of your idea without going for any other tool.
Easily export the work to PDF, PowerPoint and any image format for quick share.
Best note taking application which we can connect to our existing work.
Cons
Using old UI template for software. Same template as Microsoft Office.
For a single person, the product is awesome but for shared ideas and concurrent user changes is not supported.
It took sometime for us to understand the great product on own. Having video tutorials with all feature set could have made life much easy for learning.

Well Suited Scenarios:
When you have an idea, which you want to convert into an MVP (Minimum Viable Product).
The discussions which give you to improve your existing project, it's a better note taking app with hyperlinks.
Organize and visualize the tasks of the project for clear understanding and guiding other project members.
Less appropriate:
Existing enterprise project management. You need to spend lot of time mapping all existing information.
More contributors who want to update on a day-to-day basis.
This is a great piece of software for generating or saving brainstorming sessions. It has multiple templates and samples for inspiration, and works with most of the ConceptDraw solutions, giving you a huge range of options for graphics to make professional quality diagrams. For my use, the best part is the basic interface when you open a new map, it lets you start typing and adding new branches to your ideas through a simple tab/shift-tab. When you're not around a whiteboard, this is the next best thing. I often will not even bother saving the maps I create, it just gives me a place to work through ideas and their relationships.
Pros
Brainstorming
Documenting hierarchies
Cons
Interface can be a bit cluttered, takes some work to use efficiently for more than basic maps.
Likelihood to Recommend
MINDMAP is very focused on brainstorming and branching hierarchies of ideas and planning. Outside of those uses a more general diagramming software package like ConceptDraw DIAGRAM is a better option.
