Easier than an Excel Spreadsheet

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Contractor Foreman as a service ticket portal. We upload pictures before and after of completed work orders and invoices. It's a tracking system for us.
The issue for us is nothing is customizable and it's difficult to manipulate the stunted system to do what we need. Additionally upgrades are only made IF several other customers use the system in a similar way and want the same type of change or update.

Pros

  • Stores Customer Data
  • Stores Vendor Data
  • Time Card Tracking for our techs in the field

Cons

  • Customizations
  • Add on's to sub categories
  • Remove mandatory fields in PO Projects

Return on Investment

  • It's more convenient than an excel spreadsheet
  • We can capture photos during projects and service tickets
  • We can add data to the customers page for necessary additional data

We use Contractor Forman for our project management software. It lets our employees clock into the correct jobs and cost codes. It is very much so customizable to fit any sort of construction company. I am not the administrator of the program, but as the office manager, I use evContractor Foremanery module and integrate it with the rest of our business software.

Pros

  • Time Cards
  • Cost Codes
  • Estimates
  • Submittals
  • Invoices

Cons

  • There are some functunality issues with rounding that are frustrating
  • There are some issues with adding, changing, and deleting things

Great Software.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Contractor Foreman to schedule and track the status of our projects. We have tried a few other software programs that were far more expensive and did not compare to Contractor Foreman. We were spending lots of time on implementation and meetings for other software, but didn't feel like we were using our time efficiently. Not anymore, now that we are using Contractor Foreman. It's efficient and has a quick setup with helpful people who know their system very well.

Pros

  • Project Tracking.
  • Business Tracking.
  • Organization
  • Simple View Point.
  • Custom Dashboard.

Cons

  • Default Project Details based on the Project Type entered.

Return on Investment

  • Significantly less amount of time on back-end entries.
  • Cut our hours in half from the previous software.

Great software

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We are a surface finishing contractor. We use CF for its enhanced project management capabilities. From pricing a job and issuing estimates to our operatives on the ground filling in timesheets and submitting inspections of works. We like the fact that we only need one system now and everything raised for a project remains in the project files for ease of looking back on it later. I would recommend anyone to use this program.

Pros

  • Estimates
  • Inspections
  • Safety Meetings
  • User friendly
  • Good app for the guys on sites

Cons

  • Stock Inventory could be better and have a dedicated section to monitor stock
  • Some extra fields should be available on custom reporting
  • Some more details and sections when forming estimates

Return on Investment

  • All data stored in one place and not on shared drives or phones or spreadsheets
  • ROI - saves time for operatives on site and moneyfor project management as any reports/pictures/RFIs/invoices etc all are stored within the project
