We use Elementor to design and build websites for over 200 clients. It is the best wordpress builder we found while testing many others during the past 6 years. It is easy to use for new wordpress developers. It significantly speeds up the design process, for many smaller projects designing in software like Figma is even non necessary, you can start directly in Elementor.
Pros
Website building using a drag and drop editor
Editing the predefined styles using the custom css panel
Designing simple websites directly in the builder
Cons
More streamlined organization of settings in the editor
Better code completion in the custom css panel
Speedier editor loading and switching between pages
Likelihood to Recommend
Websites that mainly host content, need to be edited often and do not require very custom functionality. For clients who want a very stable system and have a bigger budget, custom theme development is still a better choice, but the gap is closing and Elementor seems to be going in the right direction.
WordPress is a great CMS, but it has a terrible default page design feature. Elementor is a plugin that allows you to create WYSIWYG web page designs using a set of pre-created, customizable widgets to design any web layout you need.
Pros
Page Layout.
Page Design.
Web page templates.
Pop-ups.
Forms
Image galleries.
Cons
Limit to the number of widgets available.
Likelihood to Recommend
Elementor is well-suited to help you create visually appealing websites easily. If there's a limitation, many parameters can be applied to a page component, which can be tedious to set up correctly.
I use Elementor as a web builder for full websites and landing pages, both for my own businesses and for client businesses. It originally replaced our existing process of creating custom WordPress themes or tailoring purchased themes to suit our needs. Now we build websites/pages mostly from scratch using Elementor. It's used across 50-100 websites, some large, some single pages. We make use of more advanced features such as dynamic data through custom fields and loops.
Pros
Theme builder (header, footer, site parts)
Forms, with options for what to do with form submissions after they've been submitted (email, collect , push to EMS)
Easy to use widgets for things that would otherwise need coding manually (sliders, carousels, flip boxes etc.)
Pre-built templates
Dynamic conditions for content display
Cons
Occasional plugin conflicts
Occasional differences in appearance between the editor and live page.
Flexbox building has a deeper learning curve than the previous sections/columns builder. In-editor guidance would be helpful here.
Some options/widgets available in other builders aren't in Elementor, which means additional plugins are sometimes needed.

Honestly I think it's suitable for most use cases when building web pages/sites - even for more complex sites with dynamic data. I've built sites with several custom post types and advanced loop queries with no significant issues. There might be a steep learning curve if you're completely new to it however - I don't think the flexbox building is that intuitive, even as an experienced web designer.
We had launched an entire 80 page blog using studiopress and a combination of another 12 plugins. However, we had no internal competencies in using the associated advanced version of genesis blocks. The initial template we had chosen was more aligned with genesis blocks. However, for phase 1 launch, most the requirements had been met without genesiss blocks - until - a specific requirement came in: Many of the product pages needed a tabular format and the associated plugins for tabular display were not rendering as desired. This stalled the entire project and we sought technical consultations and Elementor came to rescue. The front end is very intuitive , learning curves much less complex and the output is completely mobile responsive!
Pros
Easy to use front end and thus reduced learning curves
Does not require very design competencies for minor operations/info. updates
Definitely mobile responsive and friendly
Integrates very well with wordpress including studiopress (Genesis wordpress)
Cons
Could definitely use an AI bot for ad-hoc customer queries
Very limited Wdgets available in free version - If you have complex pages, go pro
Ensure robust internet speed (50 MBPS bare minimum) to be able to operate it. Below 8 GB RAM is not advised
Likelihood to Recommend
The user interface is so intuitive that a devoted fresher with prior web design training and creative, right brain skills could easily come up to speed and deploy long form sales pages and similar complex webpages. However, it is not recommended for someone who has no web design creativity/inclination and the manager will be better off (A) delegating the initial design to an expert and (B) training internal staff on tactical updates. The tool is quite powerful, overall
We have a bulk food store and sell many of our items online. We use Elementor to edit our home page, hours/contact page, sales page, etc. It is a lot easier to edit using Elementor since it provides a drag and drop style of editing versus the more complicated alernative of coding.
Pros
Utilizes a Drag and Drop style of editing
Keeps things mobile and tablet friendly
Formats things nicely and keeps things uniform
Gives lots of options for adding text, images, buttons, html coding, etc.
Cons
It can be hard to remember to switch to mobile view to make sure it computes well on cell phones and tablets.
The updates sometimes can mess with the theme and site, and requires some editing to get it back to the correct format.
There is an Elementor Pro version that gives more options, but it does cost a yearly fee, which can add up over time.

I feel like Elementor is a really great option for the web editor that isn't as familiar with coding and wants a more simple way to edit the site. It gives you all of the things you need to build a really complex site with without making it feel overwhelming and complex on the back end.
It may be less apporpriate for a very large business or a website that requires more specific edits and coding, but for most scenarios and small businesses, I think it is perfect! We are very happy with it!
We use Elementor as the theme design layer of Wordpress websites that we build for ourselves and clients. We have chosen to use it because it has professional-level options for us as designers and developers, but it is simple enough for us to be able to hand over to the client to make changes if and when they want to. It is easy to use, very visual, and gives access to the settings that proper designers want to use.
Pros
Visual design for Wordpress themes
Easy to drag-and-drop content elements
Comes with good pre-made themes
Access to advanced settings for front-end devs
Cons
Some specific features like slideshows, if you want a very customised experience it has to be manually created
Some 3rd-party themes that are built on Elementor lose compatibility after updates if they're not well made
It requires an extra layer of support because it's not a core part of Wordpress
Likelihood to Recommend
Use it when you're designing and building websites when you want beautiful visuals and easy customisation. It has professional-level options for us as designers and developers, but it is simple enough for us to be able to hand over to the client to make changes if and when they want to. It is easy to use, very visual, and gives access to the settings that proper designers want to use.
Elementor is the primary source of power in all our WordPress sites. It gives the flexibility in design and at the same time a ton of functionalities in our development. All our websites are built with Elementor because of its very intuitive UI/UX and a vast number of beautifully crafted drag and drop widgets. Really highly recommended!
Pros
It has a very handy page editor UI/UX. All widgets are drag and drop. No coding required.
Elementor is constantly updated and always up-to-date with the latest trend in design and technology.
Elementor is the no.1 page builder for Word)Press which makes it Universal among web developers. The community offers a great support system.
Cons
Needs to improve speed performnce.
It would be great if they add more design templates for various use cases.
Likelihood to Recommend
Elementor is best for non-coders that wants to build robust and elegantly designed websites. With it's intuitive drag-and-drop builder, you can quickly and easily finish your website projects.
But if you are particular with speed and performance, either Elementor might not be your first option or look for some workarounds to meet your requirements.
We use Elementor as the editing software for our WordPress website. I enjoy Elementor for its ease of use, ability to implement custom code, and its plugin functionality for more robust/specific kinds of designs.
Pros
Ease of use
Intuitive
Drag and drop
Cons
Auto updates occasionally break site UX/functionality
Not always theme compatible
Likelihood to Recommend
Elementor is fantastic for sites with simpler content. I imagine it may be more difficult to use on more advanced sites.
We created a previous website. Elementor is great, website looked clean and organized, but the problem comes when you need to add some plugins from wordpress that are not included in Elementor. In our experience, SEO plugins and also, the size of the images were making our website to take longer to load, and it was something that we couldn't fix with Elementor. If Elementor had it's own place to build the site, like Squarespace or Wix, I think they will be doing better.
Pros
Website builder
Templates
Cons
Transitions between mobile and desktop. For us, there was always a misplace with that
Freedom to move things around the template
Likelihood to Recommend
After publishing the website, and after following all Elementor videos, training and recommendations, there was still things missing. In our experience, it's really hard to get to a 100% of cpompletion, there's always room to improve. Also, for us, after making a website with lots of photos, and graphics, the site takes too long to load, so you need to get plugins from other sources and that's not something that we enjoy doing
