GWNWUP Epicor Propello Review
Use Cases and Deployment Scope
In late 2023 we got word that our current POS was ending life. Upon shopping around several other POS softwares we decided on Propello POS by Epicor.
Since we have made the transition we have been able to better utilize our New Goods, been able to raise TV with the reporting, and there have been no software crashes which prevents downtime.
We wanted to start a New Goods program being able to track inventory and COGS and our previous software did not have that capability. We have been able to successfully start our program and the software is easy to use and understand.
Previous software also did not have the capabilities of reporting. We can now use the reporting aspects of propello to keep inventory control, track donated goods sales and raise TV.
There have been no software crashes in propello, and it comes with a backup offline mode incase we lose internet. Internet issues have caused us many missed transactions in the past. The NUCS allow us to take transactions offline.
Pros
- Interface extremely easy to learn and use from back end to front end user.
- Customer service is extremely responsive. Tickets are reponded to and taken care of quickly.
- Reporting features are easy to use and get the information you are looking for.
Cons
- Entering monthly/yearly budgets is time consuming and clunky
- Printing tags to a roll vs a paper printer is more complicated to set up
- item lookup from the front of the POS screen doesnt pull items. Have to hit search to pull up item list.
Likelihood to Recommend
Epicor Propello is incredibly user friendly from both a front-end user and a back-end user. Cashiers have an ease in learning the software and everything they need is on the screen in front of them. This means that even if they were to forget how something works, it is present on the screen if they look for it. Back end is easy to work with also. We have slowly progressed to using the different features this offers including tracking and maintaining supplies, new goods and donations. They are straight forward on how to use, and the support team has always been there for us when we have had any questions. They are rolling out a BETA this mid-year to allow companies to build out their own data-based reporting platform that I am really looking forward too.
