What is Experlogix CPQ?

Experlogix CPQ (including capabilities of the former e-Con CPQ) helps businesses sell custom products and services. No matter how many options or variations, its guided selling tools, API integrations, calculator and rules engine produce proposals that meet customer needs; it is presented as a quote-to-order tool that synchronizes front and back-office data in real-time. Explerogix CPQ aims to help agents sell more faster.

Pros

  • It stores the products which the company has and from sending of quotes to delivery is taken care of by Salesforce through automation.
  • It has standard objects such as a price book which handles the price of the product and partners will be able to view the price of the product and see the quantity available for them and orders can be placed as per the price book.
  • Partner's data will be stored in the CPQ and as per the partner discount and volume discounts will be automatically provided at the final billing which is done through automation
  • Product features object will have the information of the product which business sells who's the parent is product and can give a high-level view to the customer what the product is all about. Making purchasing easy for the partner
  • Quotes and subscriptions will be managed by the CRM itself and using the automation rules the product order will be captured and product delivery will be maintained

Cons

  • The room for improvement is the Lightning experience as I feel that it is slow as compared to the classic view
  • They can improve on more out of the box functionalities related to the development of the Lightning page for the User Interface instead of more scripting

  • The most important is handling the Subscribers and Products where the partner can make a call for the order. Using the standard objects he can view all the product available and will make easy for them to order
  • Product price book and product details object stores all the details of the product which can make purchasing of the product much easier as per the understanding of the product.
  • Subscription and renews are managed by salesforce using automation tools we can send automated emails to the clients for the renewal of the subscription will the details of new products.
  • The orders and their history are stored as records under the purchasers for tracking of the amount and orders received
  • Order capturing is made super easy and fully automated with salesforce CPQ with the bonus of generating reports as well

Return on Investment

  • There is everything positive here as it gives a full package to the business to track the sales of the product and to generate reports
  • If the Business size is small then it will be difficult to maintain and purchase this CRM
  • There should be multiple products and consumer of the business to bring it to full use as if the product is less than other cheap CRM's can handle it.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Experlogix as a product configurator tool within MS CRM 2016 and have been doing so since 2010. The user creates an opportunity from an account and generates the quote from the configurator. There’s a hierarchy Of questions starting with the market, area of application, and then choosing the system, software, and other add-on products.

  • Properties you can set is almost unlimited.
  • Fairly easy to develop and helps users comply to standards.

Cons

  • Designer tool, it could still be friendlier.
  • UI look designing is not that easy.

  • More than 10 years ensuring quality quotes from the sales reps.

  • Quick provides an good overview.
