This ease of use makes it quick and effortless for users to find the information they need without any hassle.

This level of customization allows users to make Filevine work best for their individual workflows, increasing efficiency and productivity.
We use Filevine as our day-to-day case management software for thousands of mass tort cases. The product is used to keep the staff working on track for the advancement of cases, to manage deadlines, for reporting and work allocation, for client communication and for document management, organization and retention as the case level.
Pros
Framework of the tool functions well but requires planning and forethought for optimal set-up as it is inflexible after initial setup
Has good extra modules to solve process related operational issues but those modules all come at extra cost
Cons
In my opinion, customer service is as bad as I have ever experienced anywhere. Even the IRS is more responsive than Filevine.
In my experience, their staffing and personnel changes so frequently that even if you do find someone who is responsive they either leave the company or are reassigned.

The case management system is actually a good tool. And it might be ideal for larger law firms where perhaps they would get better customer service if they were a larger client. For a small firm, in my experience, they make it clear that we are not valued in the least.
We use it to manage all our cases. This gives us a way to keep them organized and keep all relevant information in one area. It is especially great for managing the larger cases where we have thousands of clients.
Pros
Create detailed reports that are fully customizable
Create different project types for our different kinds of cases
Customize each project type for each type of case so they only have needed information
Being cloud-based storage for all case files
Cons
A lot of functionality comes from either add-ons or third party developers
Having training that fits our firm better
When entering information for projects within the same household, you always have to enter the same information multiple times

Filevine works best if there are least a couple people in the office that know how to customize it. The best part about this system is that just about anything that needs to be tracked or saved for a case can be done.
Filevine is our main software for managing legal cases. We keep track of client communications with it as well as expenses, contact information, medical records, and team tasks.
Pros
Filevine allows us to keep a detailed log of notes, with time and date stamps.
Filevine allows for quick transition through files and sections within a file.
Filevine has good calendar for managing deadlines.
Cons
The drop downs are finicky. If I am not perfectly hovered over an option the entire drop down disappears and I have to do it again.
A search feature within the client files would be amazing. Rather than scrolling for a specific conversation, I would like to be able to type in keywords and it pull up. But only in that one clients file.
More app compatibility. It would be nice if I could call/text/email directly from Filevine. But not all of my apps are compatible.
Texting and Faxing fail consistently. I don't know that I have ever been able to successfully send a text from Filevine.

I think Filevine is great for a small scale law firm. But I have worked at other law firms, and for the district court, and have found Filevine to lack some of the key items I appreciated with prior software.
Filevine is our client management software. It allows us to track the current case status of each of our client's cases, from inception to conclusion. It is a highly customizable software that allows users to tailor it to their own legal practices.
Pros
Highly customizable.
Great user interface.
Easy to learn, simple to use.
Cons
On occasion, the software will lag significantly, or go out of service altogether.
Expensive to use.
Likelihood to Recommend
Filevine is well suited for personal injury cases, whether the case is pre-litigation or in litigation. Filevine can also be used on an iPhone as an app, whether the user interface is exactly the same as on the computer. This allows ease of access to client information on the go.
Filevine is a disaster of a program. It should be apparent because they do not let you use the program first. Instead, they give you a full-court sales pitch. I had thought myself resistant to such tactics but sadly I was not. I wanted to find an alternative to the practice management program we currently use, Clio. Clio is decent at lots of things but is so general that it is mediocre overall. The sales rep kept telling me how "advanced" Filevine was. So advanced that you needed to pay thousands of dollars for their implementation consultant to "customize" it. If a program requires such an advanced setup, it likely means it's not intuitive or user-friendly. I wanted to try out their document management functionality. It is quite poor. First, the user opens the document from Filevine triggering it to open in Word. Then it appends a string of gibberish to the file name while you're using it. Then if you leave a document open on your desktop while Windows temporarily goes to sleep if you're away from your computer, you will come back and there will be a file upload error. Don't think their help center will actually help you though as it doesn't mention this issue. The solution is to save a copy of the document, drag and drop it back to Filevine and then start again. This is what document management is supposed to avoid, having to upload manually to a specific location. This is just one of the countless issues with this program. They overpromise through aggressive sales tactics bordering on unethical.
Pros
Customization
Aggressive sales representatives
Overpromising
Cons
Aesthetically unpleasing user interface
document management
Likelihood to Recommend
Filevine is well suited if you want to have a practice management program that is not Clio and that is difficult to use, lacks essential features, and is overpromised. It is not suitable for heavy litigation. What kind of legal practice system refers to the core elements as "projects"? Not matters or cases?
I use Filevine to organize and negotiate medical bills. I like how it places everything in one place for medical information regarding each case. I also use the documentation tab to look up case information regarding liens and key case information that important in closing a case. Since I am in the closing department I also use QB accounting so that I can make sure case expenses are accounted for in disbursement of funds.
Pros
Vital Case information that right in front of me at all times
Quick Access to financial reports that are key to the firm
And great contact information that is found all in one place
Cons
Improving document tracking. I wish Filevine could automatically organize all files uploaded
Every time I log off, I lose the cases that I was working on for the next day
ChatGPT should be integrated into Filevine for more accurate analysis
Likelihood to Recommend
Filevine is great for keeping up with case information and using the activity to quickly understand the case. Utilizing activity and logging day to day updates is what helps in all required actions from attorneys to assistants. I would not recommend Filevine to depend on updated medical bills and negotiations and calling.
We use Filevine for case management. It is used multiple times a day by several employees.
Pros
The site is rarely down.
The site is customizable.
Cons
Data transfer from old software stalled at 90%; the final 10% took over a year.
Data has been lost. It took many months for them to create a workaround.
Emails to account reps frequently go unanswered. Sometimes it is because the account rep left the company -- this happens FREQUENTLY, there is no notice given to clients, and no one monitors that email address. We often have to email support to find out who our new rep is.
Features are frequently changed. Occasionally, it is an improvement; usually, it just annoys our staff because they have to adjust to a new workflow.
Likelihood to Recommend
The usefulness will 100% depend on the person from Filevine who does the customization and training.

I use Filevine to organize contacts, legal filings, and draft documents in a drive that is accessible to everyone in the firm, as well as editing and combining files in PDF form. FileVine simplifies a complex legal field by making all the information readily available in a visually appealing and user-friendly way.
Pros
PDF Editing and Combining.
Drive is easily accessible to all at the firm.
Allows for prioritizing tasks in a user-friendly way.
Cons
The PDF document editor can be easier when trying to save changes. Make a button that says save changes, instead of save file.
The contacts can probably be more streamlined so that there are not multiple contacts for the same individual or business.
Tasks should automatically be changed to a new individual in a parallel role when the file changes teams.

It is easy to save documents that you are working on when editing a Word document. That document can then be edited by everyone who has access to the file, rather than allowing for emailing a downloaded copy. I like the email address to tag a case and add documents attached, but sometimes it can be annoying when a document is present a number of times using the tagged email, causing a number of duplicates. Not sure how that can be improved.
I use Filevine to manage all of my cases in our firm. It has been a game-changer, freeing up a significant amount of time by automatically assigning tasks and reminders. Organization has become a breeze. And the sharing or uploading of documents and information has allowed us to mainstream processes, eliminating the need for other sharing platforms.
Pros
Task flow.
Fax room and texting capabilities.
Easy to learn to use.
Ability to personalize Filevine to your firm's needs.
Communication capabilities.
Cons
Hashtag mapping could use improvement.
Medical records task flow could use improvement.
More add in capabilities.
I'd like the ability to personalize the background since I have to stare at it all the time.

Filevine has been an amazing tool to have as a remote Paralegal. I effectively communicate with my clients and team through multiple channels. Everything is tracked and accounted for automatically, which makes compliance a breeze. I can’t think of a scenario where using Filevine wouldn’t be appropriate for any firm.
We utilize Filevine for all of our legal cases. It is an excellent tool for managing files, calls, insurance documentation, and medical provider information, including expenses and reductions. I personally love this program because it helps me keep my cases up to date, and if any calls come in, I can easily access all the information I need.
Pros
Insurance Documentation (policy limits, dec pages).
Medical Providers (expenses, reductions, contact information).
Treatment Calls (keeping in touch with clients).
Reminders (keeping all cases up to date).
Cons
Tasking inside of buckets is needed.
Being able to upload or replace docs in previously posted notes.
Notifications for incoming text messages are needed.

Filevine has helped me keep my client contact up to date. It provides me with tasks and with deadlines that I can adhere to with the reminders kept in my tasks tab. I cannot forget what I need to do because I keep my to-do list in my tasks when I task myself as well.
