Users rely on FileZilla to ensure the safe transfer of sensitive information, making it an essential tool for businesses that deal with confidential data. The software also serves as a valuable solution for web developers, allowing them to verify and move code within websites, address FTPS protocols, and test finished products across different browsers.
One of the standout features of FileZilla is its ability to save credentials for multiple sites, which users greatly appreciate. This convenience makes it suitable for both small and large downloads, as well as site migration. The software simplifies the process of accessing and administering web files, allowing users to easily FTP into web files on a daily basis. Additionally, FileZilla offers a seamless experience for managing files by providing features like file backups, navigating between client files, and performing various FTP actions such as copying, deleting, transferring, and editing files.
FileZilla is widely trusted by individuals and organizations alike for its secure FTP exchanges with third-party vendors. It also serves as the default FTP client in some organizations, facilitating quick file transfers between local machines and client servers. The user-friendly interface of FileZilla grants remote users access to important files, making it an ideal solution for remote work scenarios or granting access to team members who are not physically present in the same location. Whether it's updating content on WordPress websites or delivering broadcast commercials through FTP, FileZilla proves to be an invaluable tool in various industries and use cases.
We use FileZilla to review files that have been placed on Vendors SFTP site. Although we have automation put in place to send files back and forth, FileZilla is used to check to see if connections to the Vendors SFTP Site is successful and used to manually transfer during the testing phases of our transmission projects.
Pros
User Interface is superior compared to other related software applications
Easy installation
Easy configuration
Cons
Unable to create password as well as SSH key authentication at the same time.
Loggin / Reporting could be improved to see cipher information

I believe FileZilla is the best UI FTP Client Server software package. Although it doesn't offer some of the technical aspects like better logs and handling dual authentication (Password & SSH), it is well suited for any user.
I am constantly updating my website with new products and sales, so am using it regular to upload the files to my server space. It makes doing the updates really simple and i really like how the software handles the file structures and such. Its been really handy also for websites that I run/maintain for friends of mine, as one again it makes uploading updates to the server as easy as possible.
Pros
Easy Upload and Download of Files from my Server Space
Easy to Follow File Structure so you don't make mistakes uploading to the wrong location
I really like the option to only upload files that have changed since the last time they were uploaded. This works great for a faster update without having to upload everything every time. This is really handy.
Cons
At this present time, I am really happy with FileZilla and the options it offers. I can not think of anything they could really do better with the software.

FileZilla works out really good for the needs that I currently have doing website maintenance and upgrades to my company website and for websites I help run. It makes doing these changes to the websites a lot easier or so I find for what needs I currently am doing online. I am a small time customer of this software but also feel for larger companies this software would be a real asset to what programs are available.
We have been using FileZilla for many, many years as our main go-to for file transferring on our server. It offers the stability you'd expect and allows for a variety of connection types. The bulk transfer (import specifically) is nice because it has a variety of options for overrides. Over the years the upgrades to FileZilla have been stabile (no matter what operating system version you're using).
Pros
The Site Manager is well designed and allows for a variety of secure connection options.
The software itself has always been very stable and very rarely crashes
It's free! Their normal free version works well and has tons of features.
They didn't embed anything extra like annoying adverts.
Cons
Some of it's user interface could be a bit better designed (at least updated) to more of a modern look, but it's not really that big of a deal.
Inside the software it shows you various windows all embedded in one box. Moving the sizes of those windows around is a bit weird, especially if you just want of the windows to go away.
From time to time it can hang due to a timeout with the server connection. In those instances, I wish FileZilla would give you a heads up as to why it locked.

FileZilla does FTP transfers the way they always should be: simplistic, secure, and no fluff added to the user interface. I've recommended this to colleagues in IT for many, many years, and I've never heard someone come back and complain about the software. It is the best in the industry (and has been for a long time).
I use FileZilla on a daily basis in my work as a website developer. I've used it for years and whenever I find myself reinstalling the OS or buying a new computer, FileZilla is one of the first apps I install. It's reliable, easy to use, and simple to set up.
Pros
Creating new sites is very easy
Intuitive interface
Organizing sites
Cons
The only thing I would improve is being able to view the site passwords. I understand the reason why, but as a sole user, it would be really useful to see them.
Likelihood to Recommend
Honestly, it's my go-to FTP app.
I like the ability to create secure ftp transfers as security is my number one concern when dealing with my clients' sensitive data.
FileZilla provides a quick and easy way to access, transfer, and manage files on our AWS cloud server using SFTP with SSH2 key-based authentication—particularly when troubleshooting WordPress websites. For instance, when a plugin breaks a site, we use FileZilla to remove the problematic plugin and restore normal functionality. When website behavior is unexpected (such as malfunctioning drop-down menus in mobile mode), we use FileZilla to view and edit files. We also use FileZilla to back up WordPress files by downloading them to our local machine.
Pros
Removing a problematic WordPress plugin when it breaks a website
Editing files, e.g., the .htaccess file
Backing up WordPress files by dowloading them to our local machine
Uploading multiple favicon files
Cons
Filezilla meets all our needs from a file transfer protocol (FTP) client. There really isn't anything more or different we could want from this excellent software.

In our experience, Filezilla is ideal for quickly and securely accessing, transferring, or managing files on a server. While using Filezilla is fairly simple, having basic knowledge of FTP/SFTP, servers, and file management will be beneficial.
Filezilla may not be the best choice for complete beginners or in situations where users can transfer or manage files through existing solutions, like the File Manager in cPanel or Plesk.
I use FileZilla in my organization to transfer secure files to our retirement association on a biweekly basis as part of our payroll processing. Using the FileZilla software helps address the requirement of quickly providing multiple secure files from our agency to outside agencies. I can see which files were successfully transferred and are available for the recipient.
Pros
File transfers
Secure uploads
Quick uploads
Cons
Interface update
Email integration
Email notification
Likelihood to Recommend
FileZilla is well suited to transferring multiple files securely to recipients outside of our agency. I can choose to send files to various recipients, and once I input the credentials once, they are saved for the future. A drawback is that I have to inform the recipients that the files have been transferred, so they know to look out for them.
VU
Verified User
Manager in Finance and Accounting (51-200 employees)
We use FileZilla as a secure FTP service so our clients don't have to email sensitive documents.
Pros
Easy to install and configure
No startup fees
Easy to manage users and shares in one location
Cons
Some client's have complained about installing the client side app
There is no express deployment option for clients where they can click on an inhouse made executable file to install
It would be nice if there was a web interface for clients instead of a local install only.
Likelihood to Recommend
Once the server and client are installed and configured it is a great program. If a file is interrupted during the transfer the program has an option to pick up the transfer where it left off. This is huge because often we are dealing with massive files. It would be nice if there was a web interface option.
I've used FileZilla for many years for accessing servers with FTP. I am so angry that they now bundle their free version with spyware/adware that acts as a "web safety" software. After installing I found that Web Companion by Lavasoft and the Web Safety Chrome extension was installed in my programs (this is a custom-built PC, so it didn't come with any bloatware). It took me a while to remove the new default search engines with affiliate codes that were added and narrow down the culprit to FileZilla.
Pros
Trick you into installing unwanted programs
There isn't even an option to deselect it
Cons
Don't include adware anymore
Likelihood to Recommend
If you want to screw up your browser default settings and have your privacy violated, install FileZilla.
We use Filezilla across the whole organization. We've found it to be a very reliable and secure FTP/SFTP tool. Sometimes we use web-based FTP services but FileZilla is free, fast, secure, and has a great user-friendly interface. It has a very low learning curve as well. We have new users that learn to use it quickly, and we have experienced users of 20 years that use it with advanced features. Overall, I've never had any complaints or issues with FileZilla and I'd recommend it highly.
Pros
Very easy to use, low learning curve.
Lots of options when it comes to connection choices, ie FTP/SFTP/SSH/SSL, etc.
Smooth updates, never have to fear an update crashing the software.
Cons
None yet!

I'd recommend FileZilla all around, whether it's by a home end-user or an employee of a thousand-plus corporation, that's how versatile it is. Possibly the only scenario where it might cause a problem is if the user is not admin-level, therefore the user won't be able to install updates, but there might be workarounds in that scenario.
FileZilla is used by certain individuals who have a need to securely upload / download files via SFTP to authorized third party sites / vendors. The problem it solves for is the need to securely transfer files that contain personally identifiable information and other private data, versus using something like email or web form uploads.
Pros
Very easy to use
Secure
Great logging
Cons
Wish I could upgrade without the need for admin rights
Sometimes times out too quickly
Wish I could reveal the passwords I have saved
Likelihood to Recommend
I use FileZilla to securely upload files that are not permitted to be sent via insecure methods like email or web forms. FileZilla is great to test the ability to "reach" the remote SFTP server and to verify my files arrived. Once I have tested that, then our internal IT group automates the uploads to these third parties, however I can always manually log into FIleZilla to verify the uploads.
