Forest Admin

Forest Admin is a low-code SaaS solution that auto-generates an admin panel on top of a data source. After connecting a data source, Forest Admin generates two main components: an admin backend REST API for data models and business logic, and an admin frontend with a user interface and project settings. And the vendor states that Forest Admin never sees the data, they only host and manage the front-end.

The Forest Admin Cloud can also be chosen, named Instant Setup in the onboarding. To use it a database URI and 30 seconds are needed, and no environment variable setups are required.

Forest Admin supports PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, Microsoft SQL Server, Supabase, and MongoDB.

It is customizable. The user can adjust the auto-generated admin panel to match any business scenario and turn it into whatever is needed: a KYC tool, a fleet management solution, a back-office that can be used to solve customer issues, as well as:

• Out-of-the-box CRUD, search, and filtering functionalities to manage data.
• Dedicated tools to collaborate around the development of the admin panel, even with large dev teams.
• SDev, staging, and production environments to control every step of the development process.
• Custom actions can be triggered
• Different roles and granular permissions
• Different layouts for each team
• Any SAML provider (SSO) can be used to sign in
• Two-factor authentication can be enforced for all users
• Only computers with a certain IP address can be allowed to access Forest Admin
• Automatically logs users out after a period of inactivity
