Automated note-taking

after a call with a clinet i am required to update the notes in our crm. With Gong, I can just wait for the call to render and copy and paste the notes in, which often include more of the technical details that i may have missed.

Accurate and useful insights

Yes, I think they are quite accurate and useful, although I still rely on chatGPT more

Not useful

Unfortunately, the AI insights have not been useful to me thus far

Gong is good for analytics

Rating: 7 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Gong is used by our CSMs to manage and track calls and revenue

Pros

  • Trackers
  • Recording
  • Leaderboard

Cons

  • Reporting
  • User Reporting
  • Data access

Likelihood to Recommend

I would its easy to use in most cases and integrates well with many applications. There are few scenarios where we want to assume the users are logging into Gong and viewing their activity because there is no reporting readily available

Amazing helper.

Rating: 10 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I use Gong daily to record meetings and provide summaries, insights, and a list of action items. I have multiple meetings that I need to track, and having a tool like Gong makes the job of providing summaries and reviewing the meetings much easier. The use of AI to provide insights has proven to be highly valuable. I highly recommend it.

Pros

  • Great summary of meetings.
  • Great follow up list.
  • Great insights.

Cons

  • Language translation.
  • Pickup of some technical jargon.
  • Transcribe "accents".

Likelihood to Recommend

Well-suited for audio or video calls with multiple users discussing topics that can be summarized and categorized by specific topics. Not well-suited for meetings in multiple languages, unless a particular language is specified. Sometimes the exact technical words are not picked up, but that can be easily adjusted.

Going Gong.

Rating: 10 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Gong on our everyday tasks, managing operations. Our AE's use the recording and summaries with your AI to help determine how to close different deals.

Pros

  • Organizing "to do" tasks.
  • Templates and sharing of templates throughout the team.
  • AI call summaries and suggestions.

Cons

  • The notification dropdown should be available despite if you're making calls.
  • The ability to change a contact's time zone within the system.
  • Easier transition to go your CRM from a call recording.

Likelihood to Recommend

For remote workers, the recording library is a valuable tool for gathering dialogue from other team members, especially when onboarding new staff.

Gong specifically for customer advocacy efforts

Rating: 9 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I personally use Gong for customer advocacy listening. We have created and trained the Gong AI to listen in "Deal Type: Renewal, Upsell, Expansion" for people saying anything positive like "We love the product.", "This is a time saver for me." and "I love mongoose". The plan is to then connect with those folks and ask them to perform acts of advocacy like reviews and referrals.

Pros

  • AI listening
  • Call recording
  • Call tracking

Cons

  • Deeper AI training
  • Custom dashboards per function

Likelihood to Recommend

Gong automatically detects happy customers or success stories during recorded calls (e.g. MQRs, renewals, onboarding, or upsell conversations). Gong’s AI then flags when a customer says something like “this tool has made my life so much easier” or “we saved 40 hours a month.” You can then follow up to explore a case study, review, or referral. However, Gong is not a CRM or advocacy platform, so it can’t manage nominations, approval workflows, or usage rights.

A great tool that lives up to the promise

Rating: 9 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Mainly for call recording to enable reviews, preparation, coaching and enablement

Pros

  • Transcripts
  • Data Analytics
  • Call AI analysis

Cons

  • The AI analytics aren't as strong as GPT
  • Sometimes the Gong Agent doesn't join a call and then it isn't recorded at all and the call is lost
  • It could be more proactive when it finds risk and opportunities in deals

Likelihood to Recommend

Perfect for managing your own deals and managing a sales team's deals by giving a source of truth to every sales call. It allows me to be fully present in calls and meetings without needing to take notes and write down action items. It allows me to also inspect my team's work and make sure we are all singing from the same song sheet

Gong- Master of Sales Recording

Rating: 10 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Gong to record internal meetings, cold calls, demos, and onboarding with our clients. I use Gong every single day to listen for way to improve my outreach, objection handle, or additional learning. When I was an SDR my manager would score our calls and bring them to our 1:1 to dissect.

Pros

  • records calls
  • AI notetaker
  • Tracks points of conversation

Cons

  • I could offer soultions to objections live on cold calls
  • Alerts during the demo of above average talk time

Likelihood to Recommend

Gong was instrumental in my ramp period as a new sales rep. I was able to listen to years of past cold, inbound, and even demos. I will often go on Gong to find common objections or talk tracks that work against competitors. The notetaker is awesome as well for finding emails and numbers on said meetings.

Gong to record and summarise customer calls

Rating: 9 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I use Gong to record calls with customers. We use the recordings for training, to analyse each-others performance and look for improvement, and for leaders to also provide feedback. I also use the call summary for my meeting notes. It can also be really helpful to highlight action items you may have missed in the follow up!

Pros

  • summarises the call
  • recording timeline easy to follow with the different speakers highlighted
  • separates the call into chapters

Cons

  • as a video platform could be all in one that we can also use for screen recordings for customers and internal training

Likelihood to Recommend

well suited for training, analysing customer call less suited for sharing internally, the individual must share the recording themselves as opposed to being in a shared folder

Wouldnt join a sales team that didnt have Gong.

Rating: 10 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Gong extensively for training and listening to peers, but also for forecasting and gleaning AI-powered insights about call effectiveness and successful patterns. Gong has gone from just a sales support tool, to help with coaching and re-listening to conversations with prospects, but it's grown into almost a full sales management platform, with forecasting and deal-management built in. I wouldn't work at a sales org that didn't have Gong- even just for the call listening component!

Pros

  • Summarizes calls
  • Provides a list of action items from my calls
  • Provides tips and best practices

Cons

  • The transcripts aren't perfect.
  • It could be slightly more intuitive on the full account activity view.

Likelihood to Recommend

Gong is incredible for someone with ADHD like myself. No matter how hard I try to listen and take notes during calls, I always miss things (things that I've promised to do or find out, and things that the prospects says or asks for), and Gong provides a concise list of those action items and promises after each call. It's also great for ramping quickly at a new sales org. The best way to get comfortable on the phones is to get on the phones... but listening to peers' calls is the next best thing!

More Present in Meetings

Rating: 8 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

To record customer calls and provide notes and outline of call.

Pros

  • Providing Summary & Outline of Calls
  • Highlighting who is speaking
  • Can send Snippets of the call to co-workers
  • Call to Action / Next Steps Outlined

Cons

  • Follow up email AI could be improved
  • Customer facing link
  • Sentiment isn't always accurate in Gainsight

Likelihood to Recommend

Gong works very well for transcribing and taking notes from meetings. It does focus more on sales professionals with metrics and things, but it is nice to be able to focus on the meeting and know I will have reliable notes after to review and helps outline next steps or action items. The follow up email feature is nice, but I tend not to use it often because it is very wordy.
