Use Cases and Deployment Scope

The project that we used Google VR for was an autism VR therapy tool. It made use of iPhones and iPads, and the iPhone made use of Google VR for therapy. It was an affordable VR option at the time when we introduced it. It was to help the user immerse themselves into experiences so that they can learn how to help cope with certain stressful situations better.

Pros

  • Low cost of entry.
  • Easy setup on phones.
  • Looks great on newer devices.

Cons

  • It can be held back by lower end devices.
  • Isn't supported much anymore.
  • There's no universal VR product to buy.

It's well suited when reaching a general population who's not too tech-savvy and isn't well integrated with the current VR ecosystem. To get into Google VR all you need is a Google Cardboard and a phone with the supported software. The setup for an Oculus and other devices really takes a lot of time to set up and equipment. That's Google VR's greatest factor.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use google VR in our school University of North Carolina at Charlotte, to navigate the school using google maps. It is very helpful for people because they get a live virtual map, and becomes easy for them to navigate. Students reach their respective classrooms quickly and have fun using virtual reality.

Pros

  • Navigation
  • Augmented reality.
  • Virtual reality.
  • Google lens.

Cons

  • Avatars can be used.
  • Make it 3D.
  • Vibrant colors.

Google Virtual reality is the best used for traveling from one place to another place, especially remote navigation. The live map and augmented reality make it very easier to navigate to certain places. Google VR can also be used to treat phobias like Acrophobia, which is a fear of heights. If a person jumps from a certain height Google VR makes him comfortable with heights.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Good, safe stable. It's a good choice to side with solid game development tools, making it a staple for SDK, pipelines, and more tidbits related to game development. It's an easy way to test VR applications for world scenarios instead of just using them inside unity or unreal editor for example.

Pros

  • Stable
  • Good performance
  • Easy to use

Cons

  • Documentation
  • E-mail
  • Forum support

It's good, it's simple, it's the default. It works really well to simulate world uses and other sorts of applications related to pipelines in all sorts of development, be it game, art, game design, production, and more options. I wouldn't recommend it for any sort of 100% mobile game though as it's more suited to real-world apps.
