What is Heimdal DNS Security - Network and Endpoint?
Heimdal’s DNS Security - Network and Endpoint solutions protect against DNS-based attacks and monitor for malicious domain requests, helping to prevent data exfiltration and other threats.
Both tools are based on DarkLayer Guard, a 2-way traffic filtering engine that supports fully customizable white/blacklisting.
The DNS Security – Endpoint module filters all network packets based on DNS request origin and destination.
It replaces the manual or DHCP set DNS values with IP Addresses from the Client Host IP Address range, thus effectively telling the computers to resolve the DNS requests themselves.
DNS Security - Endpoint blocks untrusted connections and prevents users from accessing malicious websites. The tool also makes sure that data is not automatically filled into online forms belonging to fraudulent websites.
To support true DNS over HTTPS filtering, the tool encrypts DNS traffic by passing all DNS queries through a Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure encrypted session. This way DNS Security - Endpoint helps companies mitigate the risk of Man-in-the-middle (MitM) attacks and DNS spoofing.
