Hetzner IaaS

Hetzner is a professional web hosting provider and data center operator offering a range of IaaS and cloud services, as well as web hosting, managed or self-managed. Various services might include a cloud server with strong price-performance ratio, unshared power for production workloads or Arm64 architecture, among other options.

Features include:

• Load Balancer - used to scale applications by automatically distributing traffic across infrastructure. These handle common use-cases like TLS termination or create an internet-facing entry point to route traffic into Hetzner Cloud Networks.
• Primary IPs - Assigned to a server to establish a connection to the internet or used to create a private-network-only cloud server by not adding any Primary IPs at all. The selected network option can be changed at any time.
• Networks - Lets servers communicate through a private network and supports complex network topologies. Ideal for running a Kubernetes cluster or a database server that should not be reachable publicly.
• Firewalls - Stateful Firewalls used to secure infrastructure at no additional cost. Definable inbound and outbound rules to deny any unwanted traffic. Once configured, these can be assigned to as many cloud servers as desired.
• Volumes - highly available and reliable SSD storage for cloud servers. Each Volume can be expanded up to 10 TB at any time and can connect to Hetzner cloud servers.
• Performance - Ampere® Altra®, AMD EPYC™ 2nd Gen and Intel® Xeon® Gold processors together with speedy NVMe SSDs in a local RAID10. Also, redundant 10 Gbit network connection of Hetzer's host systems.
• Snapshots - For manual backups of servers or to restore a server to a saved image, use saved images to create new cloud servers, or transfer images during a project.
• Backups are copies of a server made automatically to keep data safe. Stores up to 7.
• Floating IPs - Used on a redundant server or for a highly available server cluster.
• Images - Ubuntu, Debian, Fedora, and other operating systems to choose from.
• Traffic - At least 20 TB of inclusive traffic for cloud servers at EU locations and 1 TB in Singapore and US locations. For each additional TB, the charge is € 1.00 in the EU and US, and € 7.40 in Singapore.
• Apps - Docker, WordPress, Nextcloud, and other software can be preinstalled.
• DDoS protection - Hetzner Online safeguards Hetzner cloud servers using the latest hardware appliances and sophisticated perimeter security technologies, providing protection against large-scale DDoS attacks free of charge.
• Data protection - GDPR compliancy for Cloud with a Data Processing Agreement (DPA) online that will be in accordance with Article28 of the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation).
