Seamless access to virtual desktop
Use Cases and Deployment Scope
We use Horizn as a virtual desktop that we can access from home or on the road. We have a number of internal features that can only be accessed through our company's intranet. These include internal company messages and company sensitive documents such as product road maps, print for parts we manufacture and requesting purchase orders. It great to do all this stuff from home and not have to wait to go back into the office.
Pros
- It is easy to log into
- Functions exactly as if I was on my desktop computer at work
- Haven't had a lot of problems with the connection dropping
Cons
- I have had issues with logging in a timing out
- The system can get overloaded if there are too many users logged in at the same time
- When it does freeze, I do have problems logging back in and all my tabs and save progress is lost
Likelihood to Recommend
It is well suited for someone who works from home often. In this whole new work from home environment most people are facing, it is vital to have software that enables you to access your work desktop. It is also suited for people who travel for work on a regular basis. I can't really see any scenarios where it is less appropriate. Horizn allows anyone to have access to their work desktop at anytime regardless of their physical location.
