Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We used IBM Robotic Process Automation mainly in Finance, HR and IT/Service departments. In the Finance department, we used it to process incoming invoices and to reconcile with our financial system. In the HR department, we were able to fully automate our onboarding process saving a lot of time with basic tasks like adding to payroll groups and teams.

Pros

  • Easy to use
  • Smooth integration
  • Customer support

Cons

  • Lack of features
  • Price

Return on Investment

  • TCO down
  • Increased HR efficiency 50%

Powerful, easy-to-use and easy-to-deploy tool

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I use the IBM Robotic Process Automation tool to improve efficiency, reduce human errors and increase the safety of a process. The automated process in question is the modification of the client's contract. In this way, the robot receives a change instruction with all the necessary data and modifies the legacy applications related to the telecommunications part (television, broadband, residential and mobile telephony). In addition, dashboards are generated on the entire operation, with all the KPIs necessary for analysis and improvement of the performance of the process as a whole.

Pros

  • Increases the efficiency of a process
  • Increases the security of a process
  • Decreases the possibility of errors in a process
  • Gives visibility to a process in terms of indicators
  • Makes it possible to scale a process

Cons

  • A more optimized web-based control panel
  • More intuitive tools related to artificial intelligence
  • Better versioning of commands for automation

Return on Investment

  • ROI achieved quickly as it avoids the need for a lot of manpower in the process.
  • Cheap investment compared to other tools on the market
  • Improves process efficiency by increasing computational power.

Alternatives Considered

Automation Anywhere, UiPath Enterprise RPA Platform and Microsoft Power Automate (formerly Microsoft Flow)

IBM Robotic Process Automation review

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

IBM Robotic Process Automation is a great option for automating repetitive processes and for using systems that do not have integrations. The possibility of using activities to access APIs, FTPs and other types of connections that do not require a graphical interface greatly speeds up some processes, with image recognition also being very important in the latter cases, where the selector is a little more complicated to obtain.

Pros

  • Use of non-integrated systems.
  • Structuring processes by stages.
  • Differentiated code structure compared to competitors.
  • Utilização de sistemas não integrados.
  • Estruturação de processos por etapas.
  • Estrutura de código diferenciado com relação aos concorrentes.

Cons

  • Limitations when manipulating spreadsheets.
  • Visual component mapping could be better.
  • Creation of more simplified dashboards.
  • Limitações ao manipular planilhas.
  • Mapeamento de componentes visuais poderia ser melhor.
  • Criação de dashboards mais simplificados.

Return on Investment

Best Bot For Repetitive Task

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

RPA (IBM Robotic Process Automation) as we affectionately call it is use for automating our banking transaction processes. There are so many processes that are manually done by Tellers at the banking halls to complete transactions for client. We have over 20 processes automated using IBM Robotic Process Automation. Staff have been reassigned to different task as IBM Robotic Process Automation has taken over these manual processes, increasing efficiency in delivery of service to clients in the banking halls.

Pros

  • Integration with Systems is very easy
  • Process automation is simple. Once you have your script right

Cons

  • Add capability to integrate with deployment tools

Return on Investment

  • Transaction statement processes Automated has saved resources time taken to approve these requests.
  • Card support team implemented a process on IBM Robotic Process Automation to facilitate card production, which has reduced the backlogs
