Use Cases and Deployment Scope

IDERA SQL Compliance Manager is a very handy tool it will audit the SQL Logins, using the HIPAA and PCI DSS compliance for the payment card industry as well. When the auditor asks DBA which transactions have been performed we can check it easily. A compliance manager is more than an auditing tool that can track the changes which you need to check at the database level.

Pros

  • Audit Logins
  • DML Activities
  • DDL Activities
  • Queries Reporting

Cons

  • Should have a compression algorithm to compress the audited logs, as it will take a lot of space.
  • Can not audit all the DML and DDL activities as it will take a lot of space, should have a compression algo.

Likelihood to Recommend

The payment card industry is best as it has built-in PCI DSS compliant and in a transactional DB where there are a lot of DML activities the size of the database must be increased.
