This is a consumer review, but signing in via LinkedIn forces a business review. And ironically, my company doesn't allow 3rd party apps like IDrive Online Backup and Object Storage e2. However, for the 1st week that I tried IDrive Online Backup and Object Storage e2 (before my company blocked the desktop app), it worked wonderfully. It was intuitive and backing up the local files on my computer was incredibly easy. In addition, I mapped one of my hard drives and was backing it by piecemeal (i.e., every 100 gigabytes took me a few hours). Everything was working well, and the incremental backups I performed every couple of days were super efficient. But then my company blocked the app, and after calls to my company's help desk and a call to IDrive Online Backup and Object Storage e2 tech support were not able to resolve the situation, I will be - unfortunately - cancelling my subscription. If you are using a personal computer or your company allows the app, I would highly recommend for ease of use and reasonable pricing.

Great if you have a personal computer and want to store a backup via an encrypted cloud solution. Not so good if your company blocks the desktop app.

i use IDrive to back up my small home-based business. I back up once daily. It's very easy to use, and the daily confirmation emails are great. It's much better than my old back-up program which often didn't back up when it was scheduled to do so.

I use IDrive Online Backup and Object Storage e2 to do a complete daily backup of all my computer data files along with data in my external hard drives and mobile phone for my small business which it does very well and reliably. The ability to automate this task for me so I can focus on running my business without having to worry about whether or not my data is safe and secure, I have no regrets about deciding to sign up and plan to continue to use this service for as long as I have a need for it.

IDrive really excels at automating the backup process by allowing you the ability to schedule them as desired as well as enable continuous protection in real time so your data stays backed up. It also excels at allowing customization of not just the desired data you want backed up but also where you want the data to be back up too (online, local, or express service) as well as various sources to pull from (computer, mobile, external hard drive, etc). Only scenario where I believe IDrive is not really appropriate is if you are looking for an unlimited storage option since IDrive packages all of have a finite storage limit.

I have been using IDrive for several years now alongside iCloud and I assure you I am more secure with IDrive! It's a true backup system which never deletes anything until I manually delete it within the dashboard. (Hear that Apple?). I've never had a failure and I know my data is safe and secure where it should be. I sleep well because of IDrive.

After getting tired of Cloud Based services I decided to get a NAS, and have that automatically backed up to the cloud.

Spent a few hours on 'best of' lists tried IDrive Online Backup and Object Storage e2 first because of the clarity of their offerings, example vids of folks setting up and using IDrive Online Backup and Object Storage e2, and their 30 Day Money Back guarantee. This way I could see if it did what I needed.

Thankfully, it was exactly what I needed! Didn't even have to try another, or even consider the 30 Day Money Back.

After creating my account, I installed the Windows Desktop App as well as the Asustor NAS App started selecting folders for backup.

Here's where I had the only moment of uncertainty - the App offers sa lot of flexibility with Local Drives, Mapped Drives, etc... I wasn't immediately sure what option I needed, but the App is intuitive enough that I eventually found exactly what I needed after clicking into the various sections.

So, chose files for my first back up, scheduled it, pressed 'Backup now' heard it reading from the NAS and in about half an hour I got an email summary of the backup. An ideal experience!

Worked perfectly to select files on a computer to back up, as well as directly backing up to IDrive Online Backup and Object Storage e2 from the NAS. The IDrive Online Backup and Object Storage e2 admin page on the site displays the sources clearly and I can verify what's been backed up with ease.

I have a home office and I'm NOT an IT person. The iDrive product seems to work well for me, but the outstanding support is the great, happy surprise! Help when I need it, how I need it, and the patience to provide what I need (I can barely spell "IT") makes iDrive a great find! Thank you!

As an event organiser and DJ in my leisure, I generate lots of graphic assets and video content. This content was primarily stored at home in a personal 4TB WD Cloud Home device, but I was looking for a solution that would let me back it up entirely. After carefully considering alternatives, such as ElephantDrive (which was natively integrated in my NAS unlike IDrive Online Backup and Object Storage e2), I opted for IDrive Online Backup and Object Storage e2 for the low price, high capacity, despite the minor inconvenience. I have a small Linux home server that has the NAS mounted through SMB, and I could set up the IDrive Online Backup and Object Storage e2 Linux client with ease and get to backup the entire NAS, so in the end the setup was not that complicated.

Great for affordable endpoint backup in the cloud, when the legal compliance required is standard and there is no need for multiple replication.

Also good option to replicate NAS devices in the cloud, given its large capacity for an affordable cost, although for that you need a NAS device that supports it natively, or a server attached to the NAS device to perform the backup periodically. A workstation attached to a NAS might not be a great idea since the upload speeds are slow and you might have to leave the computer working for days, plus it consumes quite a few CPU resources during the process.

However, for backing up workstations themselves, it can work if they don't generate too many data or the backup scope is limited to the essential documents.

I would not recommend IDrive Online Backup and Object Storage e2 for long term archiving -remember despite the large capacity, it should be considered as "warm storage". Managing huge amounts of historic data that most likely won't need to be accessed is going to be expensive.

We use IDrive to backup all of our data files and company emails. We work primarily in 3-D CAD and those types of files tend to be very large. Also, we have a lot of graphic design artwork and images and files are also extremely sizable. IDrive helps us easily backup on a daily basis where we don't have to worry about losing any data.

Being able to back up on a daily basis is very helpful as well as having a dedicated app that does this all automatically. Sometimes we do forget to modify the timing of the backup as we may be working and it's backing up automatically and our productivity slows down because our machine is backing up.
