We have a multiple data sources that we work with. To make a combined report to make further buying decisions for our clients ts we have used Jet Reports tool. Its easy to use, drag and drop reports makes it easier for those without data analytics background to create reports

Jet Reports is well suited whrn you have all the data handy in excel files. But it gets a little tricky if you want to get the live data from social media or any other channels. I wish it had a better integration abilities with other websites or/and channels.

We use Jet Reports to create monthly financial statements. This allows us to have reports that combine information that management reporter does not currently allow us to. For example, some of our reports combine statistical information and financial information and then does computations based on the information. Jet Reports allows us to design reports in this fashion.

I think this is good when your financial system ERP or the tool on top does not do what you need. So probably not good for companies on SAP/Oracle but good for tiers just under that. This seemed fairly easy to implement and get started. I would say that if you purchase the software, the maintenance fee still seems on the high side on an annual basis.

Our CIO creates reports for all types of information including: a summary of financial statements that is sliced and diced differently for different personnel, a monthly closing report that checks that recurring journals have been posted, all sales are accounted for, fixed assets are in line and many other items. Additional reports include sales breakdowns by customer and item skus as well as posting groups, running comparisons on payroll week to week and year over year as well as inventory movement in all our sales channels.

We used Jet Reports as an add on reporting package to accompany mid market ERP solutions. It allowed customers to quickly and easily use a tool they were used to, Excel to query a database and report on a scheduled and ad-hoc basis. The solutions we created for companies did expand multiple departments from Accounting, Finance, Inventory Management, Operations and Strategy.

Jet Reports is well suited for small to mid-sized databases. If you are working with hundreds of gigs of data or terabytes, I would consider a more robust reporting platform. For implementation where you may have dashboards or lots of static reports, I might consider other options. If you do foresee customizing report layout often and need the ability to tweak reports constantly, I would consider Jet Reports.

Jet Reports is a scalable resource that we deploy to perform an array of functions from internal audit to billing for our clients. Jet Reports offers a customizable approach to accurate and transparent financial reporting. Jet Reports helps us re-deploy time saved towards other value added areas such as expense review, planning, and forecasting.

Jet Reports is better suited if you have a specific population set you are looking at and less suited when querying or summing large pools or data, records, etc. I use a combination of Jet & SQL syntax when performing the latter because it allows me to harness the speed of our SQL server. Jet allows more for more customization when bodes better for users.
