Journyx helps keep the hours flowing

Rating: 9 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Our organization uses Journyx throughout the entire organization. Although web-based, Journyx is a great time sheet tool that is easy for all employees to use. Searching for jobs by keyword is easy for all employees. It solves the problem of not having paper time sheets for employees and allows access through any internet connection, making late time sheets a thing of the past.

Pros

  • Keyword Searching
  • Web based application
  • Expense management
  • Professional Services Automation

Cons

  • The "exporting printable time sheets" is VERY slow to respond
  • No offline support
  • Dropdown menus sometimes don't work

Likelihood to Recommend

Users cannot update their own time sheet if mistakes are made or things change after submitting. The time sheet must be rejected by the reviewer before the user can update the time sheet. It would be much better for the user to be able to update the time sheet and resubmit, barring approval, instead of the upfront action of the reviewer rejecting the time sheet.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Corporate staff using to allocate time based on activity and customer. [They] are not using it for expenses or time keeping. Each department has its own set of projects and activities to produce metrics applicable to itself.

Pros

  • We use Journyx in conjunction with another software for PC activity logging. The integration between the two has been seamless.
  • Users find it easy to navigate.

Cons

  • Reporting structure is not intuitive. Standard set of reports, while numerous, is difficult to navigate. Often want a combination of two reports. Would like an adhoc report writer with easy to save formats.

Likelihood to Recommend

We only use a portion of the product.

Journyx Customized - We couldn't live without it!

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We utilize Journyx to help track study hours and project hours for our research staff. Journyx has helped us expand our staffing by providing data to management for the workload our staff has for the department. This also help us to capture true hours that are provided to our research investigators and for budgeting purposes with sponsors. Our department is the only one currently utilizing Journyx software at our facility, but is being evaluated by management to see if it can be implemented in other areas.

Pros

  • The strengths are real time data capture for our projects.
  • Helps our department with our clinical trials for the budgeting process (we capture time per task).
  • Allows our department to justify additional hires.

Cons

  • We have customized our software to our specific needs and feel our support with the Journyx staff was so valuable. They worked with us to design the system we need to provide the data we needed.

Likelihood to Recommend

Our director of research utilized this software at another facility and implemented it here due to the success of data capture from his other hospital. We were very fortunate that he had already knowledge about the system and we were able to implement it our institution very quickly.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Our entire company of 150 employees uses Journyx every day to report their daily task completed and to allocate to clients for monthly billing. We are able to upload month end time data into our accounting system and we produce cost reporting by client/department/special projects.

Pros

  • Easy input screen for the daily users.
  • Friendly email reminder to complete time sheets daily.
  • Reporting capabilities are endless.

Cons

  • Leave management ability can be improved to offer more functions and reporting.
  • Administration function of adding new clients can be difficult and time consuming.
  • Maybe at times too much customization. It is difficult to administrate all the activities and tasks if we have future changes.

Likelihood to Recommend

We are a service company and a lot of other software functions might be primarily for project bases clients or manufacturing companies. Our clients tracking do not end by project; they are ongoing.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Journyx is utilized to track hours for timekeeping towards each project. This helps us know what resources are being put towards each project.

Pros

  • Reporting of time - I know when I pull reports for each employee/contractor that I will have information at the touch of my fingertips.
  • Creating new users - is very easy.
  • Entering time - is easy for even the first time user

Cons

  • I run the same report each month pulling different users for 30+ variances. It would be nice to be able to save those so that I do not have to recreate them each month.
  • Have all of the information fit on the screen so that fields that are needed are not carried over past the viewing area.

How many users can we have?

Is there a fee per user?

Is there a way to have a flat fee per user for when they are just entering in time?

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Journyx is used by the entire company for daily timekeeping by project, as required by US DoD contracts. It addresses the problem of keeping personnel time per projects, including the ability to capture daily notes for progress reporting purposes. This facilitates our ability to produce accurate invoices.

Pros

  • Once set up, it is easy for employees to use. They choose from allowable project codes and entire time on applicable projects each day.
  • The standard reports are also easy to use. In particular we use Project/User and Project Notes reports to easily produce customer progress reports and to verify invoice amounts.

Cons

  • There is a LOT of functionality, including a many functions that we don't ever use. If there were some way to set up a "dashboard" of only the functions we need, it might be a little easier to navigate some of the management and reporting areas.
  • Initial setup can be daunting, particularly for a larger company using a lot of functionality. Its been a long time since we've been through that, but the initial training and support has to be robust, comprehensive and very clear. (However, I can't say that it isn't now)

Likelihood to Recommend

I can only suggest that potential users understand their own timekeeping requirements and make sure that Journyx provides all the capability/functions that they might need. In our case, it was daily timekeeping by projects, with the ability to include daily notes on work done. In addition to that, we needed the reporting ability.
