Best Open source SIP Server.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

One of our clients wanted SIP to PSTN conversion, but with open source, so after a lot of deliberation, we went with Kamailio SIP Server; we used it for easy conversion of SIP to PSTN. It acted as a firewall where we used to register the SIP signals, and the Kamailio SIP Server will also act as a proxy server to redirect calls to the proper PSTN gateway based on the configurations. It was also a great load balancer and a security firewall for our client's PSTN gateways.

Pros

  • Proxy server.
  • Security Firewall.
  • SIP to PSTN gateway.

Cons

  • Interportability
  • SIP conversions.

Return on Investment

  • As its open source ROI is excellent.
