Use Cases and Deployment Scope

ManageEngine Endpoint Central allows my organization to easily deploy security and application patches, deploy new applications and software, manage security and system settings. We are also able to provide a Remote Access tool to our technicians and manage system resources like running services, command line, endpoint hardware utilization. It is also a great MDM tool.

Cons

Lenovo computer BIOS patching support is missing. ManageEngine Endpoint Central only supports Dell computers BIOS patching.
Mac OS patch and software deployment, notifications and reboot prompt configuration is not as robust as on Windows and should be improved.
We could use more 3rd party applications in the Software Deployment library.

ManageEngine Endpoint Central is well suited for organization with limited IT resources. It provides an great tool to manage endpoints, deploy software, deploy OS and application patches to keep endpoints secure. It provides a great tool to empower end-user with a tool to self install approved applications and updates when using Self-Service Portal. It also includes a great Remote Access Tool.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

ManageEngine Endpoint Central has allowed us to really improve our MDM. Patching, deploying and administering devices is really simple, with its huge support for patching 3rd party applications, automatic package creation and reporting, you can easily ensure devices are deployed with the same configurations on the same versions. The agent-based model has also ensured reliability in communication, even in a hybrid environment (which other package deployment models with a push configuration was struggling with)

the remote powershell missing some features to make it easier to use (tab to complete, up arrow to auto-fill last command)
sometimes error messages for deployments/ patching is a bit ambiguous

Likelihood to Recommend

Its unlikely ManageEngine Endpoint Central would not be suited in an environment. It does a vastly greater job at simplifying 3rd party application patching than (for example) intune which is important for security posture. I would recommend it for any environment that requires an MDM solution, this is from the posture of using windows devices.

Maybe for business with less than 50 devices there is another apps that can be cheaper.

EPC is easy to navigate and use, and rich in features.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

The scope of use is support to end users within organization, monitoring, patch management, and configuration push. Two of the most valuable modules of endpoint central that we found are : Self service portal and remote control of the lap top. Beside that we are heavily using pushing of the config which help us to keep an eye on the changes for mission critical users and remote users. In general issues that we encounter were only in the beginning of deployment but after that it was as smooth as possible. Be prepared to explore documentation but even the support is super helpful in process. Once everything is configured we started playing with auto enrollment to SoM and integration with service desk plus which was a breeze.

If you need to reach any user of your organization for any sort of config or change attended or unattended you can do it easily. However for VPN users you need to do some configs. As by default networks are not presented to the ManageEngine Endpoint Central ( it is not too much of a hustle to present it but it would be nice that is automated somehow).

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Endpoint Central for patch management, software deployment, and most recently OS deployment. We needed reports for patch management and Endpoint Central gave us exactly what we needed and have been using for years. Software deployment makes it so much easier to install software on our endpoints and OS deployment is spending up our hardware install process.
