We use MasterControl Quality Excellence extensively to meet regulatory requirements for life sciences and medical device manufacturing. The platform enables us to digitize paper records, manage document control, and administer training programs. As a customer for over 20 years, we’ve built thousands of electronic form processes over time. Currently, we maintain 132 active eForm processes, multiple document workflows, and support two business units across nearly 10 locations. While MasterControl Quality Excellence remains central to our operations, we’ve begun transitioning select business processes to other platforms out of operational necessity.

I would recommend MasterControl Quality Excellence because it fills a niche space for Medical Device manufacturers and Life science companies. If you're looking for a platform that provides document control and e-Training capabilities, MasterControl Quality Excellence may be a good fit. If your organization has software developers, Process module is also an excellent tool that allows developing a web page inside the system for creating electronic forms. Templates that are developed are configured with an automated workflow, and use of keywords allows seamless part 11 compliance.
With all of this said, if you want a turnkey solution, this is not it. In my experience, MasterControl Quality Excellence is not a user friendly application, and the initial configuration of the system can easily be done in way that isn't scalable, and does not set you up for long term success. In my opinion, there is no out of the box method to resolve this, and poor implementation can lead to poor long term outcomes, and a mountain of tech debt.

MasterControl Quality Excellence is Key of success in life sciences. It offers our organization wide variety of quality operation to work on. We use it for Quality operations such as Deviation management, CAPA, MOC, ect. It helps in staying compliant with current regulations and requirements as well as it make process simple to use. I recommend MasterControl Quality Excellence to all Life sciences company to stay top on Quality and Regulations

My experience with MasterControl Quality Excellence is where it did well is whenever I worked on Deviation initiation it is setup nicely that step by step I can work on it by investigation, corrective action, effectiveness check which make process more stringent and simple to follow and make my job easy to complete the process. One of thing that I want MasterControl Quality Excellence to Improve is PDF publishing which works slow even in there are less files to republish

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We are using MasterControl Documents, Training, Process modules since 2016 and are currently onboarding the Audit Moduleand AQEM. manufacturing Excellense is in scope as well.

We are generally very happy with the system, but have been struggling with moving our workflows and forms to the clous bases AQEM, which is not on the level it ought to be just yet

MasterControl Quality Excellence is well suited in audit situations, all data is clearly presentable and extractable and auditors are generally impressed by the data they are being presented, both when to comes to speed and accuracy.

Less than well suited: When we are taking MasterControl roadmaps at face value and sharing the plan swith external stakeholders, we always have to apologize later

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use the Documentation, Training, and forms modules. As a small quality group, automation and cross integration are critical to maximize our productivity. The record keeping and audit trails have been a great help during customer and certification audits. We hope to implement more modules.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use MasterControl for document control, training, and quality events in AQEM. We needed a QMS tool that could separate locations and allow admins to work only on their sites' data. We also use MasterControl for paperless production.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use MasterControl for our documentation system and training on the job. We used to have our documentation system and training on paper, this used to cause confusion on where a document was and who had it and if an employee was trained or not. Since the use of MasterControl we are able to track the status of our documents and the training of our employees.

MasterControl is well suited for managing your documents by document change tracking setup up for periodic review. It is also suited for trainee management and training status.
If you make and manage controlled copies you cannot save previous publish settings and need to personalize them everytime you make a new one.

Use Documents and Training module. Addresses the reduction of paper, use of w signatures (documents not last or delayed in peoples inbox). Documents linked with training and having this separate minimises the amount of overdue training tasks as it is much more visible. Soon quality workflows to be rolled out using AQEM and using exam generator

System is user friendly, pretty intuitive and easy to configure. I can see room for imprevement but it is heading into the right direction.We are only focused on the Quality module. As for the issues: The performance on "on prem" version, pdf publishing time and constant issues with pdf not beeing generated, issues with custom forms created by MasterControl Quality Excellence.

Honestly it is very easy to navigate through the application online. I am always able to search the document that I am looking for without having any kind of issue. Master control is very useful to find the documents you need. There are no real business problems. Master controls helps keep document confidential.

Documents and Training modules currently. We are setting up classes currently and looking forward to reap the benefits of not having to use docusign for instructor lead training.

Collaboration Workspace more end user friendly(more obvious what to click next)
Help file to define functionality of the options when setting up a class ex. Initial Training (if this is in there needs to be easier to find as of right now I only see a screenshot of the options)
SSO working with use password as e-signature( I see this just went into Dev Ops so hopefully gets pushed out soon)
