What is RDCMan?
RDCMan, or Remote Desktop Connection Manager from Microsoft, is a utility for managing multiple remote desktop connections. It creates a single location for IT administrators to organize, group and manage connections.
Once shut down due to a vulnerability in version 2.7, RDCMan is now updated and part of the Sysinternals family of tools. The 2.8 release fixes CVE-2020-0765, the XML parsing vulnerability. As of May, 2025, RDCMan is in version 3.1.
RDCMan is free to use.
Sysinternals, where RDCMan is currently distributed, describes RDCMan as useful for managing server labs where regular access to each machine is required such as automated checkin systems and data centers.

Servers are organized into named groups, and administrators can connect or disconnect to all servers in a group with a single command. Servers in a group are viewed as a set of thumbnails, showing live action in each session. Servers can inherit their logon settings from a parent group or a credential store. Thus when a lab account password changs, passwords stored by RDCMan only need to be changed in one place. Passwords are stored securely by encrypting with either CryptProtectData using the (locally) logged on user's authority or an X509 certificate.
