I have used many eDiscovery platforms and NextPoint is by far my favorite in terms of ease of processing documents and preparing documents for production. The customer service team is second to none and the sales team is very eager to find customizable solutions for specific cases. I would like to see some updates to the review platform but the development team is constantly rolling out updates and making improvements. I cannot say enough good things about the software and the company as a whole.

I have used a multitude of products over the last 15 years of eDiscovery practice work and have found that this is the most user-friendly platform for all aspects of the EDRM model and for presentation purposes. It has been a lifesaver and a timesaver from the backend to the frontend of discovery and trial presentation. The program does the work so much quicker and without third-party intervention. I don't ever want to use another eDiscovery program!
I have used NextPoint for two main reasons: organizing and reviewing large document productions and using it as a platform to generate client reports. The system has been invaluable while we have transitioned to working remotely. Numerous people can work on the same claim or file simultaneously. This has made us more efficient and better equipped to meet our clients needs and expectations.
Pros
Extremely customizable.
OCR text recognition and search functions are extremely impressive.
Very user friendly. It is extremely easy to train others on how to review documents in the system and how to use the system to make the review process easier.
Cons
There are certain system-level things that cannot be changed. They fit nicely into most document productions but are occasionally not useful.
Subfolders within review databases would be beneficial. At times, organization can become a bit cumbersome because there is no way to use subfolders within a folder in a database.
Adding the ability to generate reports into systems other than Excel would be a plus. A Microsoft Word based report would be great.

Nextpoint is great in a wide range of scenarios. Specifically, it has worked very well for me when we have been confronted with both large and small document productions which need to be reviewed. We have also been able to use Nextpoint to address some other, non-document production related problems. I think Nextpoint is a strong tool to consider in just about any scenario. The only time I would hesitate to use Nextpoint would be in some type of involved document production that needs many levels of organization. The lack of subfolders can be a bit of a challenge and, although the coding options meet the need in my opinion, it is not exactly what everyone is looking for.
Mahendru, P.C.'s two attorneys (including myself), as well as our paralegal, use Nextpoint to manage the e-discovery process (document collection, document production, and document review).
Pros
For e-discovery software, Nextpoint is extremely user-friendly compared to some others on the marketplace.
For document review, Nextpoint's user interface is very intuitive and simple.
Nextpoint allows small firms to manage complicated loadfile document productions, things that would typically need to be outsourced to third-party e-discovery companies.
Cons
Tagging email families and related documents can take a bit longer than other e-discovery platforms.
Likelihood to Recommend
In my opinion, Nextpoint is best suited for small or mid-sized firms that want to bring the e-discovery process in-house, whether to save costs (if on contingency), to earn additional revenue (if billing client for e-discovery), or just to be able to control in real time what goes on inside the software.
Nextpoint is also good for firms that want to cap their e-discovery costs. Nextpoint is one of the few e-discovery platforms that charge flat fees instead of per-gigabyte, the latter of which can spiral out of control price wise.
For big firms with dedicated in-house e-discovery personnel, Nextpoint may not be the best choice because what you gain in simplicity, you do lose a bit in functionality. There are other, slightly more robust e-discovery products on the marketplace.
We use Nextpoint for high volume e-discovery purposes. It is used on a selective case basis where the costs to host large amounts of data are cost-prohibitive. It provides a great resource for these types of cases but we use other software for smaller cases.
Pros
Can handle a large volume of data.
File room areas.
No hidden fees.
Cons
Limited organization of high volume of data.
I cannot see the original file structure in a visual way after import.
The folder screen has to be expanded to see all folders.
Likelihood to Recommend
Very well suited to high volume data cases where cost is an issue. It is also very useful for sharing access to co-counsel, experts, etc. on cases without any additional fees. The pricing structure is clear and concise and easy to understand. Nextpoint is a great option to have in organizations with lots of cases without having to worry about minimums or high volume costs.
