Effective social media monitoring and incredible value for money

  • Digimind Social is a great and unique platform for constant monitoring of social networks.
  • Its interface is user-friendly and straightforward, it has features that help us collect information of our interest.
  • We can monitor trends in real time.
  • It facilitates interaction with the audience and allows us to measure the impact of our management in the different social networks we manage in the organization.

Cons

  • It has exciting functions but its lack of intuitiveness makes it a little late to learn the tool.
  • They should provide more information and training material for new users.

  • As a business school professor teaching both MBAs and executives, I regularly use Digimind to demonstrate the power of social listening in various programs I teach. Digimind Social proved to be a solid, user-friendly tool that effectively show users the value of social media listening for various short-term (e.g., responding to angry customers) to long-term goals (e.g., managing online reputation, competitive analysis).

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Digimind saves me many hours of time, allowing me to monitor thousands of websites, news feeds and internet sources on a daily basis and all through my own customised web portal.

We also utilise its newsletter function to automatically issue several monthly and weekly newsletters to various groups within our business - a task which would be near impossible to manage if it had to be done manually.

What would have taken many hours to do before is now a simple task of reviewing our customised news feed and selecting what we wish to add to our various newsletters.

After our initial take up of Digimind over 6 years ago we now utilise Digimind across our busines globally which allows us to share our news feeds and content internally.

Pros

  • Monitoring the web - upon thousands and thousands of sources can be monitored at the same time as well as new sources discovered by utilising the tools digimind offers
  • Content management - store all of your data within the portal and access from any location with internet access or use the "push mail" feature to have a daily or weekly summary of news sent directly to your email inbox.
  • Managing the news via newsletters and extranet sites - within minutes you can automate a specific newsletter and tailor it for the relevant audience. Extranets can also be set up to view the news online as well as to store it to be viewed at a later time.
  • Source discovery - Digimind now offers ways in which to find new sources for specific topics and quickly add them to your search agents so you can continue to monitor them

Cons

  • New users may find it difficult to initially setup their Digimind platform as some of the functions appear a little complex, however with a short training session this can be easily overcome.
  • Extranets are extemely useful for displaying current news as well as searching for old articles at a later date. There is one problem with the search function however which does not allow you to show results with the latest date so you often have to either know the exact headline or end up scrolling through a few pages before you find the correct one. A "show newest first" function would be a great improvement.

Great Choice for PR Agencies

Pros

  • Digimind Social is extremely intuitive and easy to use, and requires little time and training to get up and running. The dashboard is very well designed – all the data insights you need are in one place, you don’t need to wade through many pages to find the information you need.
  • Top Reputation is a great feature in that it gives you a view into what people are searching for but don’t yet have answers to; this is something you don’t find in other social media monitoring tools but can deliver a lot of value to communications users when compared with the results from social channels. For instance, Top Reputation can help you identify any issues that online audiences are having before they reach social channels, and also help you shape campaigns to match emerging tastes of consumers.

Cons

  • At this time, it’s hard to find any area of improvement for Digimind Social, especially after having used other tools, which are clunky and require more manual work to zero in on the information you need. The sentiment analysis is a tricky task for any tool and while Digimind Social is better at it than others, we hope they continue to hone its capabilities and are able to analyze a larger volume of data.

Digimind Social does this for us better than other tools we have used. The one-click reporting capabilities substantially streamlines our reporting processes.
  • Digimind also offers the ability to customize your dashboard. This is helpful because just as our clients vary, so do their needs for analytics. Digimind allows us to see exactly what we need for each of our clients at a glance.
