It's mainly used for viewing different types of files without having to necessarily install the files related applications. Besides that, for security purposes, we need to make sure that some important documents are not being edited in their source, another reason why OpenText Brava can be useful, is to cover some compliance obligations.
Pros
- Native applications don't need to be installed on users' machines.
- Compatible with ECM systems, communicates with their own products - OpenText.
- There is a function to create views, restricting some contents to specific people.
- Password protection when publishing
- Business processes can be digitally signed.
- Check difference feature allows to compare differences in 2 documents.
Cons
- OpenText Brava couldn't open some documents because a few fonts are not readable.
- I didn't find an integration with Microsoft Power Apps at least.
Likelihood to Recommend
- If you need to review a lot of documents and don't want to spend a lot of money with all needed software licenses, this product is good.
- If you have a document with sensitive information that you would like to share to someone but removing that sensitive part, you can create a view and share with them.
