We've been using OpenText TeamSite for three years now as our key web content management system. We've engaged the software to design our websites, and author and edit the content. It's been critical in streamlining our customers' digital marketing experiences spanning the essential social media channels (Pinterest, Instagram, and Facebook to be specific). I'm using Teamsite daily to make my work easier by utilizing a single software to manage marketing content on all the digital channels.

Pros

The drag and drop forms feature makes publishing simple and quick.
Preview of customer data before sending publications helps us to deliver personalized experiences.

Cons

It keeps saying Path not Found when publishing external file attributes on the staging arena. I've never found a way to go around it.
Does not retain file owner's name when you publish through OpenDeploy.

OpenText is suitable to handle web content management across your social media/digital ecosystem, helping you deliver more personal marketing and increase conversion rates. For the three years, we've used it at our company, we've experienced notable growth in conversions from leads. It integrates well with CMS, and SAP hybris to be specific to help you drive your marketing smoothly. You will however need on your team, contributors with expertise in C++ coding to help with multi-channel data exportation and streaming

We use it to manage and create digital campaign content which also helps us reduce the time taken to market new campaigns. It's a great CMS solution that caters to our complex needs in terms of licenses, languages, and brand. We use it to help develop pages, edit them and push them live for the institution.

It helps us to create digital content that we use during instructional sessions. Building lessons with this platform has been excellent since the web platform is secure and no unauthorized user can access information. The main advantage that we have discovered is running our courses at a fair cost. When marketing our institution we can create attractive content that meets international standards and publish it on our social media accounts.

Personalizing content - easy to setup the taxonomy to personalize the content
Being able to manage content in one place and display it on multiple websites
Ability to have the business areas support content changes without IT help

Cons

Make it a little easier to setup the content configurations for business (power users)

We use it as the search engine within one of our own products.

Pros

If you are nostalgic for 2004 style, closed source, poorly documented, ultra-proprietary, "enterprise"-ey type apps...this will be for you.

Cons

Draconian licensing methods; license is tied to IP address of one of the network interfaces so this product is incompatible with cloud deployment.
Very poor documentation - we've never been able to get to the bottom of an issue in a "self service" manner by using the available support documentation. We're always at the mercy of the sub-par helpdesk.
Doesn't lend itself to automation - configuration is some obscure format that is impossible to automate

Likelihood to Recommend

Not appropriate for cloud deployments.

Would be great for companies stuck in 2004 or companies who are prejudiced against open source giants in this space like Elasticsearch.
