Parasoft SOAtest is used across the company for testing web services. It is used to do functional testing, automation testing and performance testing of the web services.
Pros
The tool is built in such a way that you need minimum to no experience in API testing and you can start using it from day 1. It's that easy. And many features like configuring many end points and choosing the one [on] which you want the tests to be run, easy import of wsdl, etc. are very helpful.
Characterizing the tests and driving the data from external sources like Excel or xml document is easy and very powerful to automate tests. Many assertions are very well built in.
Automating the APIs using this tool is very efficient and easy. It also offers some UI level automation embedded in it so it makes life lot easier to compare the response vs UI.
Performance testing of APIs is also built in and so it makes a one stop solution for all testing needs for API.
Cons
As always, this is not a free tool and you have to pay for license. There are many open source tools which can perform similar job with no cost albeit with less functionality and more head work.
There is still some more room for improving the automation which can include more UI level components to make life lot easier when comparing the response vs UI.
Likelihood to Recommend
This is the go to tool for all the web service testing needs. You can do functional testing, regression testing, automate the testing and drive the data from external sources like a Excel spread sheet or an xml document and finally performance testing. It can get better in scenarios where the response is to be compared with UI, with more automation. The license cost needs to be considered when there are many open source tools out there in the market.

I used Parasoft SOAtest at my previous company. Parasoft SOAtest was used in the information technology team. This tool assisted quality assurance engineers by minimizing the time and quantity of test cases used for manual testing. Parasoft SOAtest was for web services and browser recorded test cases. Quality engineers were able to organize their test cases in a test suite and execute them automatically.
Pros
Organized test suites.
Fast and efficient execution of automated testing.
Built in Javascript that can be used to run test cases with a repository tool such as HP Quality Center. This will show the test results and allow the QA engineer to pass, fail, or set a test case to N/A.
Cons
Enhance the performance of the browser recording.
Make compatible with all repository tools. For example: Microsoft Team Foundation Server (TFS).
Provide an option for a agile environment.
Likelihood to Recommend
Parasoft SOAtest is well suited for QA testing. The Web Services feature is the best.
