Use Cases and Deployment Scope

It has been an excellent tool for keeping our retrospective test cases organized. It has been very easy to create a test run- easily catch the retreat tests we need and create new ticket tests that we are testing. We've been using spreadsheets and lists before and this has been very successful.

Pros

  • Quantitative analysis
  • Valuation
  • Risk management
  • Work flow analysis

Cons

  • Column size of graph
  • Search results
  • History results popup

Likelihood to Recommend

For most of the test case scenarios, PractiTest works fine. If we talk about one specific feature then it would be the automation side. I like this feature a lot just because it made all testing so easy and effortless but on the other hand automation in this platform comes with so many limitations and that's where I am not fully satisfied.

Recommended to purchase PractiTest as it is effective on Test Case

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use PractiTest to run the risk-based testing for each sprint. The tool gives the details testing status which is easy to track by the product manager and other stakeholders and is used to make decisions on whether the build can be deployed in production or not.

Pros

  • Test Library where the entire test case of product is present.
  • Capturing the time for executing the each test case.
  • Tracking the status of each test run.

Cons

  • Linking the defect with Jira throws an error quite some times which can be improved in the future.

Likelihood to Recommend

PractiTest is well suited to track the testing status. Easy to use tool. We have used the tool for executing Risk-based test, Pre and Post Upgrade Test and the tools is awesome where the testing results can be easily tracked by the stakeholders.

PractiTest has not only been great for our company, but for the testing community at large

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We currently use PractiTest as a Test Case repository for the QA department. We link the requirements to our projects, write tests to be executed, track executions, and have our automation results feed in as well to provide a common place for all testing results. PractiTest has a lot of potential to provide tons of different metrics and results from testing. It also integrates with other platforms (Jira for us) so that we can easily work between the two platforms.

Pros

  • The ability to create custom fields on your test cases
  • The custom reporting results due to the custom fields
  • The ability to work using filters instead of folder trees
  • Integrations with other platforms
  • Constant availability of support
  • Community oriented (host online testing conferences for free, provide insightful blog posts for the testing community, etc.)

Cons

  • Better dashboard display capability (drag and drop to rearrange gadgets)
  • Creation of global user groups (as opposed to just project groups)

Likelihood to Recommend

PractiTest works GREAT as a test case repository. It is very easy to gather metrics, filter, and sort based on custom fields. We were able to work with the API to pull our automation results in as well. The support team is always very quick with their responses and monitors the "in-app chat." They are very open to answering questions, providing best practice materials, and looking for additional feedback.
If you already have a central location for all of your test cases and testing needs, then I guess you probably wouldn't need to add another. However, PractiTest has high capability and potential, so if it's set up properly you can easily save time managing your tests.
